I love the Sunflower. It reminds us of Summertime. Don't you wish summer would stay all year long? If you have questions feel free to ask. I check comments daily. xo Thank you for watching and commenting. If you like this share it with your cake decorating friends.
Thanks Joann. Seems the Sunflower is quite popular. I'm so excited to get all these wonderful comments, but then again you all are always leaving me amazing feedback. THANK YOU!!!! xo
Wow Lorelie, what perfection and artistry! This is by far my favorite cake. You need a picture of it for your kitchen. The way you did the sun flowers was masterful, it added real depths to them. Definitely going try and make time on my next day off and try making the flowers. 🌻🧁💖
Yayyy! I finally got to see the vid. I had to wait for my new data to kick in...lol So beautiful! I can't wait to try some large flowers. I just ordered some big flower nails. The closed sunflowers look neat! A perfect vid to watch while laying in bed listening to the rain on the roof...lol Hug, Arlette
@@CakesWithLorelie I hope to try them soon. I'm visiting family in southern Ontario and will be heading back up north to Thunder Bay next week. There's a new local market starting up on my street, so I thought I might try making some mini cakes for it. Sunflowers are perfect for late summer. I might try them! :)
@@AhhhTube That sounds exciting. I love the small outdoor markets. I see the Sunflowers everywhere right now in full bloom. I may plant some next year.
@@CakesWithLorelie I most certainly will try it. I have actually been searching for a good technique for wooden effect with buttercream and yours is straightforward🙂.
If the cake is kept cold for transport it shouldn't be an issue. But you can pipe a bit of buttercream under each flower to hold it on even more securely like I did with the first one. Thank you!!!
That is so beautiful!!! I love the way you tell what tips to use and the music is a nice touch too, very calming. Thank you for sharing what you know. God bless you real good✝️💚
Thanks Cetta. I didn't need to as the cake frosting was soft enough to adhere the flower too. But there may be cases where you would want to do that and I know I have at times.
@@wynignatius9289 Yum! Cottage style. I like that description for a cake. LOVE carrot cake with cream cheese icing so much and the Marzipan carrots sound really nice.
@@wynignatius9289 I think we have similar taste buds. LOL. LOVE oatmeal cookies. Hardly ever make them but now you got me thinking I need to . Thanks Wyn.
The blue part is pretty easy as it is supposed to look rustic LOL And as far as flowers go the Sunflower is one of the easiest. You can also make them a little easier with a leaf tip. I was trying tp make mine with some realism. Thanks for your commentary. I welcome it.
Loreli I simply love watching your videos. You have superb talents! Your cakes are simply out of this world! Thank you so much for sharing your talent with us!🙏🏽 I work American buttercream as my cakes and buttercream are egg free. Only butter and powdered sugar and I do not use shortening as it taste is too greasy. Will the sunflowers stick on American buttercream please? Thank you
Wow again. LOL Thank you !!! Yes the American buttercream will work fine. As long as the temperature of the frosting and the room are cool enough. I used it exclusively for years until i started making Italian. You can do the same things with American that you can do with Swiss, Italian or French....
Great question. the buttercream holds it on there. The first flower I applied a dab of buttercream first. the others i did not. I just placed them and held it for a second. they are still on. The cake is in the fridge.
@@CakesWithLorelie Thanks so much for answering my question. I have had trouble with cakes ..when i place fondant lettering of decorations on the side of cakes....the buttercream and all the letters slide off. I want to place decorations on the sides...like you did. But now i am afraid to ..so i just place them on the top...🤔
Beautiful!! Question. How long will they stay fresh in refrigerator? And When storing in freezer, do you need to put in refrigerator to defrost slowly before bringing it back to room temp?
Thanks The cake a week, the sunflowers stored in a container can be kept for weeks. Just like butter it will stay fresh if refrigerated. Yes let the cake and the flowers come to refrigerator temp first then take out
Cakes with Lorelie Can you help me with a timeline? I have so many questions. I have my daughters baby shower Sat. I made the cakes yesterday and put them in freezer. I would like the cake to be done Thursday. Is that to early? Will it stay fresh stored in fridge till Saturday? How do you cover it? What does your timeline look like when you make your cakes? Bake, crumb coat, make decorations, fridge/freezer/defrost, ice and keep fresh? I know that is a lot of questions. For some reason I’m not able to wrap my head around the timeline.
