Cute! Keep 'em coming! This same pattern easily translates to poinsettia. Many of us soap makers use piping techniques, as well as Wilton's Silicone Molds. One great example of this would be the video made by Royalty Soaps, called Pumpkin Patch Soap. She's the "queen" of piping techniques in our community, but the 'dutchess' at home...hahaha. (Her dad is king & mom is queen in their household, and she's just crazy funny to watch.) Thanks!
Newbie here that never has baked anything! Love the video and looks easy enough for my daughter’s first birthday! Where do you like to get your buttercream icing? Anywhere special or just at the grocery store?
We're so glad you're exploring baking and decorating! You can use a store-bought buttercream or make your own, for piping flowers, if you make your own buttercream you can add additional confectioners' sugar to create a stiffer frosting if needed. You can find our Homemade Buttercream recipe on our blog: bit.ly/ButtercreamRecipe Buttercream icing 1/2 cup solid vegetable shortening ½ cup butter 1 teaspoon Wilton Clear Vanilla Extract 4 cups sifted confectioners’ sugar (approx. 1 lb.) 2 tablespoons milk Cream shortening and butter with electric mixer. Add vanilla. Gradually add sugar, one cup at a time, beating well on medium speed. Scrape sides and bottom of bowl often. When all sugar has been mixed in, icing will appear dry. Add milk and beat at medium speed until light and fluffy. Keep icing covered with a damp cloth until ready to use. For best results, keep icing bowl in refrigerator when not in use. Refrigerated in an airtight container, this icing can be stored 2 weeks. Re-whip before using. Yield: 3 cups
May i know the ingredients of the buttercream ? Did you put the sunflower made inside fridge ? May i know what paper is it (you placed the buttercream on top)
dear wilton i love to bake but i have trouble deciding if i should make cookies or cake i have watched you video on haw to make cake batter cookies but is there some way you could make a cake using cookies?
I have a question once we make the butter cream sunflowers and we freeze them If we put them on a cake on the sides of a cake when the cake comes to room temperature will they just fall or melt?
Hi! Your flowers should not fall off once created and removed from the freezer. But depending on your location, room temperature could be too hot for the buttercream, then we would suggest keeping it chilled until serving.
@@wilton okay thank you very much I'm in New Jersey and it's cold I think we'll be okay I just couldn't wrap my head around making the flowers and then putting them vertically on a cake and then when them softening not falling down so thank you for that reply
If you freeze them, you can simply peel the flower off of the parchment paper and place it on top of the cake or cupcake. If you want to place it on the side of your cake you can use a little bit of buttercream to adhere :-) Thanks for watching!
I made these yesterday. With Wilton icing, just as in the video. It seemed that the icing was too warm and the petals hardly held a shape. I made do, and popped them in the freezer overnight for when I needed them. They were still very pliable and hard to remove from the parchment. :( What went wrong?
Hi Patricia, Try adding more powdered sugar to get a stiffer consistency. Here's our video on buttercream consistency that you might find helpful: ua-cam.com/video/yZ8Tsx3dc2M/v-deo.html

Why does the description say you need maraschino cherries?? Also, is the yellow frosting premade like the chocolate was, or from scratch?
When the flower out from fridge comes to room temperature, the colour starts to smudge,, how can we avoid this situation?
How long can you keep them in the freezer
We recommend keeping them in the fridge or freezer for no longer than a week.
