I’ve notice that people rarely try to place blame on the girls family or the girl herself when a white girl goes missing. If it’s a white girl the family gets nothing but help and sympathy. But, let the girl be anything other than white (especially African American, Latina, or Native) everything is all of a sudden the family’s and the girls fault.

First off lets get definitions correct. People of color is define as a non white person....in the US persons of color make up 53% of the population with the remainder being "white"....so statistically yes there would be more missing people of color....the media likes to use "people of color" and black people" and "African American" interchangeably but they all refer to different things. "Black" being skin color and can refer to almost all African Americans. African Americans meaning people who are second generation or older people who came from Africa usually as slaves but not limited to Africans who came over long after slavery ended in the US.
