Yeah, the captain of the Andrea Doria had monumentally screwed up by turning to his left. When 2 ships are approaching eachother head on, both ships are supposed to turn to starboard, but the Doria turned to port.
Accualy it's more like the stockholm's fault with them having an unexperienced crewman in the weelhouse and It was the captain of the stockholm "carstens" that mis read the radar and turned his ship in to the Andrea Doria and carstens didn't order the ship reversed until It was way Too late
They didn’t have a model of the Stockholm so they used the kungsholm model but modified with its second funnel removed to make it look like the Stockholm
