What a lovely family conversation, sitting around the dinner table. It reminds me of my own Irish family when we came to Canada, and our friends were from the 4 corners of the world. Our pastor was from Barbados, our teachers were from India and the Middle East. In all faiths there are basic principles of decency and an innate fear of our mother 'telling our father when he got home'. We behaved as our parents encourage and threatened us to do so.

You get it, eh. Canada, Ontario, where we reside and have for the past 30 years plus is definitely a place of many cultures. This can either make for a very rich experience or a challenging one. As children, having parents help to instill values, be available to listen, communicate and share strategies to navigate your way is very important.
