Sad day losing I Hart. Thanks for reviewing a set of frustrating options going forward based on hard cap realities along with knoted Apron strings. Nevertheless, I believe Leon will somehow attain someone Thibs can work with and develop. Knicks will be o.k.

In this day and era unfortunately guys will jump for money. As humans we would as well. With that said no one is mentioning DARIO SARIC as a replacement on the cheap. Even for a year as a stop gap. This guy will help, as Mitch's FT% is terrible and at the end of games Teams will impose a "Hack a Mitch."
So look at Saric: Only 30 years old
* Great passing big (As Knicks are constructed, we need a passing Big to hit the wings and guards)
* Great pick and Roll guy see what he did with Chris Paul. Unstoppable.
* Elite shooting Big - 85% FT shooter, 47% FG shooter and 38.3 % from 3PT (Our Bigs couldn't hit the 3 ball, so he adds another dimension)
* He has 1-2 good years left and when he plays with these Knicks he will be even better imo
*Great Rebounder in limited minutes (Not the best Defender but will get better under Thibbs imo)
The answer = DARIO SARIC on the cheap. He will even blossom more.

After the Bridges trade, Randle's tool chest is redundant, he needs the ball to be successful and on this team will need to become a 3rd option which he will not be willing to do. He is too short to play a stretch 5, and he is still a defensive liability. Randle needs to go for a stretch 5 (KAT, AD, or even Markennan + Kessler). There are multiple options out there better than Randle as a fit for this current roster.

People forget he was a bench player before mitch got hurt and averaged 4 ppg over final 5 games against Indiana. Great rebounder, nice passer, interior defender but cant switch or defend perimeter and is far from the be-all, end-all. I know the contracts now are wild but $90 million is ridiculous for that limited a player.

Goga is off the board. James Wiseman or Mo Bamba, best options.
We need a starting center not a backup center. Mitch rob won't last the season as the starter. Even if it's Goga they should start him to keep mitch preserved.
I personally like randle starting at center and mitch off bench and precious 3rd string in case of injury. Sims emergency 4th. OG can defend Jokic, Embiid, and Wemby with help from mitch for 24 min. Dont think theres another center in NBA that Randle cannot defend.
Such a shame. But good for IHart. What's funny is how the same OKC fans that defended Presti's terrible decisions (Hayward, who they use to clear space for IHart, Biyombo, Muscala) claimed OKC could only sign 3PT-shooting big men because of their hyper-specific team-building strategy are now celebrating like they landed Hakeem. They screwed up last season not making an all-in move and now overpaid a very good player to quench their desperation and frustration. Let's just hope NY can sign a good player (such as Jarrett Allen).
Jon I find they way you speak sometimes disrespectful of fans. I'm not exactly mad at iHart but I'm also not comfortable with saying what you said that basically you'd abandon the knicks for more money too. Then you made it worse by saying you hope no fans are mad at him. Please don't tell us what to think as fans. This is gutting. Where is the loyalty in this league? How are you supposed to feel about all the great moments with iHart knowing that he's now going to doing all of that for another team trying to defeat the Knicks?
