Why did they demo this in thinning? It's the biggest harvester Ponsse makes. Is it suitable for anything other than clear felling?

Depends on where the location is, but yes, they work well for thinning too. On the west coast of the States, their power is really nice for the steep terrain we are on and often times, its our only option.

We have thinned with Tigercat 870 harvester in tighter stands than this for years , with no marking of standing trees. Some with only 10% removal. Look at the large area surrounding this machine , plenty of space all sides to manoeuvre
