I had the 8.8. It worked great. I installed this today. It’s not working. CarPlay is working. Nothing else does. No info from the car, no speed. Even though I set the display to U.S. English, it’s showing 0 km/h not m/h, and staying on 0. The clock is stuck at 12am. It reboots every few minutes randomly. I’ve emailed your support. I hope you can help me resolve this. Also, why does the keyboard for connecting to WiFi to download OTA updates not give you the ability to enter symbols such as “@“ as part of the WiFi password?
This is because the original car agreement was not read, so many data are not displayed. Please contact customer service and she will help you. In addition, I have already reported to the technical department about the wifi connection and will coordinate as soon as possible. Thank you for your suggestions.
@@teslasy I have connected with support and they’re sending me a new cable. But the install process isn’t quick and easy, and I’m not looking forward to having to redo it. I’m also not sure what to do about the screen being so wobbly. The magnetic mount is a great idea, but it’s not stiff enough. The screen bounces up and down while I drive. Honestly this feels like a beta product, and not ready for production.
Just to add an update, Teslasy has stated that they’re close to releasing a new, more stable magnetic mount, and will send that to me for free (although I’ll have to pay for shipping) as soon as it’s available.
@@t1328 That's pretty lame you have to pay for shipping. They're making a new mount because they know the first ver. is unstable, otherwise they wouldn't be making a new mount for a newly released item. They shouldn't be selling this in the first place if the mounting system is poor. Who cares about the screen and all that when the screen is wobbly. Good luck!
Seeing that this brings Apple CarPlay to the Tesla, is amazing. I was considering other cars that support Apple CarPlay, but I am so excited to purchase a Tesla now! Two questions: 1) If I put in a destination in CarPlay, does it feed that information to the Tesla, so it can self-drive to the location selected via CarPlay? 2) Will next-gen CarPlay features be added to this model? It's not a deal breaker, but it would give peace of mind.
I just got this installed, everything looks good except that my battery indicator shows the correct range in miles but % is 99 when it is actually 32%.
Hi Team, to improve safety. Adding AMBER lights on both the left and right sides of the screen for blind spots and RED lights when the turn signal is activated (similar to the recent Aug 2024 update to the F88 shown here: ua-cam.com/video/mOY3LUFf9vU/v-deo.htmlsi=j-C09XuVWpB6NvLh) will greatly enhance visibility and safety for everyone on the road.
@@teslasy I love that you guys keep adding great features with OTA updates. The most recent updates to the 8.8 with the orange bar on the side if there’s a car in your blind spot is great. Tesla finally added blind spot warnings, but they may as well have not bothered given how small that tiny LED is in the speaker cover. This makes it crystal clear, and i don’t have to look at the screen visualization on my right to see IF there is a car in my blind spot, or for that matter see that there is a car there only when indicating (thanks also for adding the red bars when you do indicate and there is a car in your blind spot. They’re so much easier and more immediate to see than having to look at the large screen to my right. Good stuff! If you were able to project the blind spot cameras onto the screen when you indicate, that would be a game changer, but I have to imagine that would require more that an OTA update given the bandwidth needed to project high res video like that.

@@t1328 Any reasons why you picked this version vs. your other one 8.8? As for blocking the vent, which ver. blocks less? Thanks!

yes

Can I the screen be adjusted down in case I need the AC airflow?
The magnetic bracket can be flexibly adjusted, and the wire harness on the back can be adjusted arbitrarily by leaving a little longer.

How much does it interfere with ventilation airflow?
The wind blocking problem can be solved by adjusting the height of the bracket. The middle position I showed in the video is better for shooting.
After having the T8.8 for a while and loving this, I can’t wait to get this one for my other Tesla. These products are excellent.
Thank you for your support!
I made a shortcut command column at the top of the screen to slide down, and more content can be opened up through ota upgrades later.
