I am rooting for the young people to start. For 18 million they should give a washroom and even storage in the bathroom. I would prefer an island in the kitchen. Thaes guys are cutting back. Don't let this stop you from persuing purchases. It is a good buy.

@@Alexandria-hq1uy I agree. The house prices here in Montego Bay are going up everyday. Typical Jamaicans cannot afford to buy houses in the town, it would work out better to buy a nice piece of land in the country and build up an empire.

How can Jamaicans living abroad, like myself, stay informed about upcoming property developments in Jamaica before they are sold out? I currently contribute to the National Housing Trust (NHT) and only visit Jamaica every 6 months, but by the time I find out about new projects, they are often already sold out and only posted on UA-cam or TikTok. Should I contact a realtor before I’m eligible?
Good Day. I would advise you to contact NHT to get a qualification letter so that you can be ready to make a move on an NHT project or something on the open market. You can see stat updates on upcoming schemes by checking the NHT website or visiting a real estate website to see available housing units. One of the best websites to see available units would be www.classarealestate.com

Well you just have to try your luck if you have started the process or contact NHT for more information.

It’s all about the amount f points that you have when it comes on to NHT houses. The more you have the better chance you have. With these houses, it’s mainly for civil servants.

The washing stand is at the back of the house. Don’t remember seeing a laundry area.

@@Queensuga. I am not sure if you can do that. You can come contact NHT and see if it is possible. Estuary has more options with NHT as only 31 units at Union Acres is available right now. The other houses might be for the union members.
16mil? The contruction of the house doesn't cost that much. Almost 100k us to live in a cube. How are poor people to afford that? Smh i think one day i will run for prime minister so i can save my people. Im an engineer in america rn and i know house that small dont cost this much. It would have been better if they built modular homes or container homes
House prices are crazy in Jamaica and it will only get worse. It’s better to build from scratch, but the land prices are super high as well. Land is gold here in Jamaica.

It’s just the model unit. You will buy your own furniture if you get one of them.

The houses are mainly for Civil Servants and you would have to be apart of one of the unions to apply for one. Recently NHT advertised 30+ of the units for eligible contributors and the results are out now on NHTs website.
