Hello Jo. New to Lavinia Stamps. I live at Porcupine Ridge, Australia. I have just taken a delivery of stamps and now looking at the Tutorials for tuition and ideas. I love your easy to follow ways of doing things and look forward to many hours in my craft room. Thank you.
A lovely demo of the gel plate and one thing I would like to suggest is that you take a pair of scissors or a craft knife and cut all the excess rubber from all your stamps so that you don't have to worry about getting ink on the edges... I have done it with most of mine and they still work perfectly...:)... love the colours and the foragers of course!... :)
I had to smile when you mentioned your husband being so busy. I use to work in a lab, and when our equipment when down, we all were so excited to see the repair man arrive!!! The card is lovely..just love those colours.
Aww Jo these videos are brilliant you are such an inspiration I miss the shows I remember meeting you at Doncaster Dome many moons ago you were so helpful and your love of craft was easy to see. Thanks Jo hugs 🤗
I have just found you. I am a 3D Crafter and not really not a Stamper. I have watched a couple of Tracy’s videos and ordered some stamps and some Pretty Papers. Now I have to have to pluck up the courage, knuckle down and have a go. I love your easy to watch Tutorials. Thank you for the inspiration. Patricia 💖x
I have learned so much in just three videos! Thank you so much and I do hope you and yours are doing well. If I can get to England (when I can get there) I would love to take your workshop! Thank you again.
Just seen this for the first time, oh wow I'm so in love with the gel press and how you used it and the 2 colour blending carried throughout. I love your style Jo🧚♀️💙
Wow your just so amazing. Your inspiration is beyond belief. Your just simply the best demonstrater on here. I keep finding older video's and there as amazing as your current project's. Thanks for sharing ☺️😊
I so enjoy watching your video's, and your voice is so calming. I cut the extra off the stamp because no matter what I manage to get ink on my card when I stamp. Lovely card.
This is one of the best videos I've ever seen! I love your soft spoken approach and you shared so many tips here that I have not seen before (like splattering with Brushos). Your finished project is so beautiful! Thank you!
I just found your channel and I am very glad I did. Just watching this one video I have learned so much. I love all the tips you give and the explanation of why you are doing things.
Again you make it look so easy and manage keep your lovely hands clean! I really enjoy you sharing your thought process and another wonderful inspiration! I recently bought a few brushos and have the 4” circle gel plate on order so I’ll be able to give it a go soon. Also I love the Inktense pencils too, my absolute fav!
Hi had a go at making this one, as I had just bought the 4" jelly press. I learnt a lot about masking and using the bryer, not totally happy with the end result as the Oxide inks beeded and my script was a bit over powering. So next time I would do it in a light grey or do a 2nd generation. I had fun doing it and I will improve next time. Thank you for sharing your talents :-)
Loved watching you do this. And you are quite right, they do indeed look like Chinese Lanterns- which I believe is what are called Pysallis, that small fruit.
Thanks Robin, one thing I find that helps is to mix the Brusho powders with plenty of water, also to have my fan brush in water and wet it before adding the brusho... Hope these things may help xx
Thank you so much for this Jo. I envy the ladies lucky enough to attend your workshops, you are so good to listen to. You cheered me up on a difficult day. Im going to have a go now.
Thank you for the Brusho mixing info. Am new to Lavinia stamps & techniques so helps to get initial proportions. I’ll experiment as I get more play time in. One thing I do notice - not so many pastel color schemes. In early spring, my brain hungers for those colors. I’ll be trying that on my own but curious if you have done any. Lastly, really enjoy your accent and expressions.
Thank you so much Jo, I really really love 💕 that card, it’s absolutely stunning and gorgeous. And it’s really really unique too. Yes they are called Chinese lanterns. I-love them too. Stay safe and well too xxx Mags
My dear sister suggested I start watching you...LOVE your demos!!! However this one I decided to watch while darning my wool socks because I could watch it without earbuds because my husband went ice fishing so I could turn up the volume, watch and darn. Couldn't find my darning egg so I used a tennis ball. HAHAHAA because I was watching I darned the yellow fuzz into the sock. This is a must have demo I have to try. Thanks so much for your demos.
I absolutely love your videos, you are my favourite. I love the relaxed way you craft, l feel like l am there with you and you are chatting to me. Take care and keep bringing us your videos ❤️❤️❤️
Hi, love this! Can I just ask where you got your gel press plate from...& the size? I’m struggling to find a round one other than a tiny 2”? Many thanks
I watch your videos every morning. I just love all your creations. I have a gel press, color box inks and brusho inks. I’m now beginning to use them tentatively and found tiny little dots on the multifarious paper. I cleaned the gel press with hand sanitizer and started again and still the tiny little dots appeared. Jo, what am I doing wrong?
Hi Jo x watching another video on UA-cam x learning so much from watching these x would love to do a workshop with you but I live in Boston Lincolnshire x and it a bit to far to come unless I come and stay for a weekend xx 😘
I am so glad I came across your UA-cam Channel. I have watched all your Videos and look fwd to seeing more. Love all your creativeness and the way you explain every step you are making and why. Keep up the great work. I have 1 question if I may. I went looking for the ColorBox Premium Dye inks (her in Australia) and I have been told that the makers of this ink have closed down since last yr. Is there another company now making these inks pads.. Thanks
Kaz McAuliffe hi , I am so pleased that you like the little videos. I just make them , no editing , so it is just me in my craft room, all live. At the minute there really isn’t an alternative to the ColorBox, we are lucky here in the uk , as we can still buy them. I do know that a couple of companies are looking into creating an alternative. I will make another video next week using distress inks and gel press to show you what they are like. Hope that helps. Take care Jo xx
@@JoRice Thank you Jo for your reply. I decided to test out some of the inks I have and found that the Stampin Up and Altenew Dye inks also work great on the Gel Plate. Happy that I can use what I have already. Look fwd to your future Videos, you are a born teacher...
Sherry Laird , you do need a card that has a low chalk content so that it will take the water well. I have used the Lavinia multifarious card for my projects. Smooth card from Pink Frog works well too xx
Hi Jo I am new to your channel and although I watercolour never done jelly plate art, can you tell me what card you did this on and what were the paints, couldn’t quite catch what you were saying ty xx
ClearSnap makers of ColorBox announced they are closing down operations in July 2020. Heard they were bought out but not sure who bought them. So right now Colorbox is really hard to find and if you find some like on Amazon it's $15. What is everybody else using in it's place?
Diane Ripley keep your eyes out as a little bird has told me that Lavinia Stamps will be releasing their own version of the ink pads very soon....watch this space...xx
Fabulous demo Jo... adam on Hochanda said how you talked a lot... lol... I cannot do the splatters with the fan brush ... I think I do. It like you and Tracey.... but doesn’t work? Help! Hugs Sylvie x
sylvie colledge I think Adam is right , and I do talk too much ....the splatters depends on what type of fan brush you have. Mine is the Lavinia one and the bristles are spread evenly apart. They do not clump when wet, also I keep mine in a pot of water,,,,hope that helps xx

Really enjoyed watching, you have a lovely relaxing manner. Must get a gel plate and some of the lovely Lavinia stamps. Beautiful card. xx
I so enjoy watching your video's, and your voice is so calming. I cut the extra off the stamp because no matter what I manage to get ink on my card when I stamp. Lovely card.
I really like how you use the acetate to see how it will look and where to put the stamp. Brilliant!
Stunning! Blues and greens are my favorite colors. This would be lovely framed.

Incredible!
Omg this is beautiful and you made it seem so easy to do. Can’t wait to try it myself. Thank you. 😊
Hi jo, what size brayer did you use for the 4 inch gel press ?
Hi Debbie, it is a smaller Speedball Brayer , it measures 2inches across the roller...xx
Just beautiful Jo! 🌸💐🌸
Great video, thanks for sharing 💐
Just yesterday delivered my new gel press circle .Now I got more information what and how to use it.Thanks
Now I can go and play with it.
Just lovely ❤
Hi, love this! Can I just ask where you got your gel press plate from...& the size? I’m struggling to find a round one other than a tiny 2”? Many thanks
Morning, I bought mine gel press from Laviniastamps , they have various shapes and sizes, I used the 6inch round here xx
OMG that is gorgeous!
Beautiful , love it ♥️
I bought the pallette but haven't used it yet. Keep sprinkling the powder. Old habits die hard. Lol.

49Nutmeg Thank you, so glad you enjoyed it, the pens are called Posca Pens and well worth buying xx
Yes Jo they are called Chinese lanterns x
what kind of paper are you using for the card? Can you use white card stock and get the same results?
