I am 80 and discovered Elvis in 1955 on the Louisiana Hayride radio show. I bought his first early records before I had a record player and borrowed my sister machine. The I saved up from my paper route and bought an RCA 45 automatic changer record player the 6EY-3. It was a suit case style machine. In 1956 Elvis put on a show at the West Philadelphia Area. My grand dad got me tickets for Kathy , my sweetheart and I . We took the train and the El into the city. It was great to see him live but all those screaming teenage girls ruined it for me. The acoustics were terrible. Fortunately I was lucky to be chosen to meet and greet Elvis back stage that afternoon. The TV show Bandstand was right next door to the Arena theater. I also met Dick Clark and his wife in the audience in seats next to us. He is the one that got us backstage for photos and the meeting. Kathy’s head was swooning that day. Its a day Ill never forget! Kathy and Elvis are gone now and I am all alone with the music.

In 1960 I was 8 years old living in Holland. My elderly sisters loved Elvis. When this film came out we sang this song. On one side it was German and in that time the relationship with German was still difficult, but on the other side Elvis sang is so it was ok. He indeed was a good ambassador for Germany with this film and feeling became looser.

I showed the video of Elvis singing "Wooden Heart" to a puppet to my twin nephews when they were toddlers. They loved it. When they heard the song on a CD later on, one of them said: "That's the song out of the puppet video!"

I’m listening in 2022 ❤️❤️❤️ was my mums favourite Sind she passed away 9 years ago and it gives me good memories and she would sing this song in English and German as I was growing up. I’m now a grandma at 36 and I’m learning this to my little granddaughter and sing it to my cute little kitty who is called Elvis. Lol!! Wow he was a vision, my mum was obsessed with him as a girl she was born the year this came out 1960. Such a gorgeous looking guy xx

I enjoyed this scene very much...just some weeks ago I made a visit to FRIEDBERG/GERMANY
and stood at the entrance-gates of the old "RAY-BARRACKS",where the King had his
    army-home from 1958-60....really moving......

Peter K. I used to work with a fella who had done his National Service in the British Army when Elvis was doing his with the US Army. My workmate had been stationed quite near Friedberg when Elvis arrived to do his duty there.
He said the Soviets missed a great opportunity to invade, because German chicks had besieged his barracks and nothing could get in or out for days on end!
