    My LEGO collection primarily consists of new-in-box sets that I keep promising myself I'll get around to building one day...so I guess I'm simultaneously enjoying and investing! 😊

    The Bricklink Designer Program is one of the rare Lego themes where you can actually make money even if you buy at retail, open and build, and sell as used. It was in any case, only time will tell if the increased quantity will change that. My guess is it is still a very solid investment. My plan is 1 castle and 2 shacks although if budget permitted I would definitely be getting 1 or 2 train sets!

    This is a great idea and provides good insight on these sets, it would be nice to look at each set individually and determine whether to build them or buy them or pick them up at all!

    I actually think the higher count for sets being sold can help increase demand, because more people will be aware of it - but, if they increase the production runs much more, then it will hinder the price. But, I also understand your perspective as well- the prices are my biggest concern &no possibility for discounts

    I was able to justify buying x2 castles for building, especially since LEGO retail prices are closing in on similar values anyways.
    These won’t be total bags for investors, but prob won’t clear much because:
    1. Ability to purchase x2 means people won’t need to choose between building and selling.
    2. x3 quantity increase is huge
    3. Investing climate is totally different now. People didn’t buy extras to hold/sell, which meant that sealed copies were made more valuable.
    Really debating about the Parisien street, but probably going to pass since shelf space is already limited anyways lol.

    Buying them for my own collection. I invest in stocks and ETFs. Investing in Lego is for people who don't know any better. Once you sell the set, your investment is gone. It's a one time thing.

    • @StudCity
      @StudCity  Рік тому

      Very true Tony! I too have found stocks and etfs an easier and more profitable alternative for investing. Buying to build seems the way to go!

      Funny how rigid people can be Even though you just watched a video showing that All previous bricklink lwgo sets made huge gains you still say stock are better. The New program might not be a good investment but ignoring data in either lego or stocks shows that maybe you are the one who does not know what you are doing 😉

    • @TonyMontanaDS
      @TonyMontanaDS Рік тому

      @@jonasjakobsen8767 They are better. Once you sell a set, it's gone forever. If you invest 10k into a proper dividend stock, you get a dividend of about 5-8% every year for the rest of your life, plus a 10% or more stock growth year after year for however long you decide to hold on to it. Add to that the drip and compound reinvesting your your growth potential just keeps on increasing. You clearly have no idea how stocks work.

      @@StudCity of course, personally i think i am gonna pcik up one of each besides the parisian street. Castle and train shed to build and the old western store and shack to possibly build eventually and if not sell. High dollar items are a lot harder to sell like this but the lower dollar ones will sell better aftermarket i think. And i personally am just not a fan of dollhouse for the parisian

    preordering a set and waiting half a year just to keep it unbuilt kinda crazy to me but that’s obviously my own opinion. feels like a lot of afols vote on these sets just to look at the box

    I agree that higher demand and additional visibility on the program will reduce the growth rate. At worst, you end up with a nice Lego set to build and enjoy.

    • @StudCity
