Everything you said about being friendly is exactly my experience in Quebec. I've lived in Ontario the majority of my life and when I moved to Quebec I was in a culture shock .I felt like they were very unfriendly. I was so happy when I moved back to Ontario.
Everything you said is right on. Some situations are also unique to each Province due to provincial laws. I'm in Alberta and I'm not looking forward to winter, lol. Wishing you guys all the best.
I like how honest and straightforward you both are with your audience . As an immigrant Canadian you are spot-on with every point. I'm here for 16 yrs and I don't have any friends. My biggest culture shock was working with people for 8 hrs per day and if you are outside the workplace they will not acknowledge you and tomorrow they show up at they speak to you because they have to but go back to the same coldness immediately after you are done. It's the same with church too and when someone warms up to you soon they move away or their circumstances change and then you get to go through the same thing repeatedly. I hope more of our African people will watch and listen so they can mentally prepared before coming because most of the Africans on SM are selling their people false hope when I listen to them I'm wondering if they live in the same Canada.
Very educational guy..thank you for sharing your Canadian experience. I'm here is Toronto and I appreciate your honesty and challenges about living in Canada. I hope ppl will learn and be well prepared before they relocate to Canada. I really enjoyed this episode 👏🏾 Pls get a snow blower wai 😂😂😂
What you’re saying about greetings at work is so true. Sometimes you can even meet your coworker at the mall or somewhere in the street and they will walk right by u like they don’t know you…meanwhile u sit right beside them in the office. Ei!! It totally shocked me!

Thank you for sharing this. It changed my ideas of canada. I live in berlin, germany and can tell that one has to go out to meet friends and to work on meeting new ppl. otherwise it's sounds like canada, lonely.
It's a Quebec thing...they are sooooo dry down there. Montreal and Quebec they might as well be another country on their own separate from Toronto and the others.
I’d like to express a warm welcome from a friendly Quebecois turned Torontonian. I completely share your sentiments, it is hard moving from one place to another. But I believe it gets easier; wishing the best.

Yes, Quebec has taxes on top of their regular taxes. The last time I was in Quebec city, taxes on items were around 15%. I can't imagine how much they are now. College is free though
The best time to buy winter clothes is when the winter season is over, at that point the winter clothes are going on sales so you buy it towards next year.

Well you have never been to New York..what you said in rent some people pay that for an apartment. The food in ny is expensive as well once they add on the taxes. The weather here can be harsh here as well. Canada sounds a lot like NY. The only thing is you can make friends easily and Jobs here are different in a lot of ways. Will you guys remain in Canada? Have you ever consider anywhere else? Thank you for sharing.
I’m just sitting here laughing, especially when we got to number four-the weather compared to France-and all the preparations it takes just to get ready for work.
There's no lie here. At least here in Montreal, all the points apply. The only strange thing for me is taxes on food. But here in Quebec, anything is possible. Taxes on the payslip is killing.
Ei the way everyone is now complaining about Canada. 5 years ago it was seen as the dream place to be. mmmmm times n seasons. I came from the UK n spent 100 dollars just for 5 itemsI was shocked. With 100 pounds I cn do food shopping for the whole month

As i type this i have a Canadian work permit, and have had it twice but never traveled. I am A US citizen but a Ghanaian. It's funny because most of the things you have said is the same in the United States. The loneliness anti-social, greetings n everything. You said Americans be like hey! And i laughed. They are just like the Canadians. The thing with Canada is it is too cold. America has everything. You can have an African weather, n a Canada weather. It is vast with varieties in climate. It has many places with the Canadian lifestyle, slow pace, But also fast ones. It has more jobs and also the currency value is high. It can be expensive here but there are many affordable places.
@Berthsfamily Come to think of it. 8 months of very cold weather out of 12 it's like 8 years in cold weather in 12 years. This is like punishment. I have thought about it and have said no. Because I went to live in North Dakota on the canada border for a year, and it was severely cold. It feels like you are punishing yourself. I think it's not worth it.
Guys consider moving to USA it is really good here. Especially now that we have trump. Taxes have no snow no state tax. Cheap and affordable homes too.
