Recently rewatched season 3 and the whole Ella storyline. Gotta admit there were a few Riley and Ella moments where I heard Britt’s voice in my head going ‘are they gonna kiss?’ 😂

I LOVED Jiley back in the day but as a grown ass 26 y/o I can definitely agree that they needed some time apart - especially how toxic they got a couple of times. And honestly they were just kids, their worlds are constantly changing and hardly anyone every stays with their hs sweethearts. I also like to believe that they went off on their own for a fit and managed to find each other again maybe 10 years down the line as adults. 💗

Riley was definitely one of the best dancers on the show. She had such good technique and did hip hop and jazz and was one of my favorites 😊
I think this Solo was one of the most emotional moments in TNS. I loved seeing all the flashbacks and moments that Riley experienced on the show. Although I must admit that I noticed her absence a lot in the following seasons and it really made me miss her, not only because she was my favorite character, but because she was one of the most important characters💔 It's good that the series wants to include new characters to create new conflicts, relationships and a new plot in the story, but I miss the old cast. I would like to see a meeting of all of them 💗

I wish they did proper send offs to all characters 😭 like Tiffany in season 2 (appeared later but they didn’t do justice to her character), Amanda, Cassie, cierra. Like such sad last appearances:( made me so sad as a kid
Even tho hunter didn't even last a whole season he probably had the best development in s2 and his sendoff in s3 didn't quite hit for me. Like he lost to eldon and then him and James both go at the same time.
I absolutely agree. Tiffany just disappeared after Season 2 and then came back briefly in Season 4 without a send off. Even characters like Alfie, Skylar (before DND), Josh, Lola, Zara and Jacquie didn’t get proper send offs too which was unfortunate.

This solo was so emotional especially with the flashbacks! I loved Riley and was so sad to see her leaving but I’m glad it gave you an opportunity to explore acting a bit more and book more shows.💗

This dance was just so fabulous - it was a shame it wasn't in the main show. It was such a great send-off for Riley.
As an adult watching the show, I 100% agree about James and Riley. In my head, they went on a break, maybe amicably split up, grew up a bit, got to know themselves without the support of the other person, and then got back together and had a much healthier relationship as equals as adults. So they didn't date other people, they just found out who they were on their own.
Your goodbye solo as Riley was very emotional. I loved all the flashbacks they inserted within the solo. It made Riley’s goodbye even more impactful and heartbreaking. Hearing that Vic, Brennan and Bree watched it backstage makes that even more emotional.
But if I’m being honest, it always bothered me how your goodbye was shoved into the off season rather than the first episode of Season 5. I feel like it absolutely deserved to be a part of the main episode but given that the showrunner changed for Season 5, I guess it made sense for them to start afresh with no opening dance and the immediate introduction of new characters. But it still bothered cause I watched the first episode of Season 5 without knowing that the off season existed and when Skylar mentioned that Riley moved to business school in her talking head scene, I was so annoyed cause I thought you deserved a proper onscreen goodbye exit like everyone else until I eventually found the off season on UA-cam lmao.
5:35 - A cheeky but explicit British insult would be “Ella you c*nt!” Or “Ella, you pr*ck” or even “Ella, you TWAT!” “Plank”, “Melt” and “Tosser” would also work😅 Still remember how dramatic it was when she stole Riley’s solo. But I’m glad they made up in Season 4.
Glad you’re still sticking to your Jiley opinion. It’s also kinda funny how many characters in The Next Step migrate to business school. First Emily then Riley and even Nick originally came from business school before joining The Next Step.

Riley Reacts to Riley! This solo was so emotional because we were saying goodbye to Riley in this moment and seeing the moments of times gone by was a wonderful send off for this character we all loved so dearly.
I feel like you’ve found the perfect balance of content which is a few reactions but also with a couple of vlogs every now and then as I feel like the vlogs are good to refresh the content but also it provides a good break between reactions.
Also 5:32 “You cheeky bugger” is a good British slang phrase to use in this instance. (Fantastic British accent by the way!)

I remember watching at the time and I was devastated too that you were leaving but they they wrote it in a good way, in terms of like we saw Riley still in the 12 hour party episode or the judging of which troupe (TNS East or TNS west) would end up going to regionals. so it wasn’t the end of Riley as a whole but this duet including the flashbacks sum up so much of the character of Riley and how integral she was to the show. what a gem 🥹🫶🏼
p.s I really want to see the reaction to some group competition dances, from internationals especially because they were soo memorable, I remember watching and my jaw was dropped open at the moves 😭

Instead of reacting to a whole season, as you said it takes more time, you could react to regionals/nationals/internationals episodes! So you can see the dances, the drama and everything behind them… also they are shorter episodes to film the reactions.
I still enjoy watching your reactions to the dances you were part of it and to know the stories behind it!

Sometimes, life puts us in the right place in the most abrupt and hardest ways it may seem like a negative thing, but then it turns out to be what you needed so you can grow on your own. It happened to me over a year ago, and it was a devastating moment back then, but now I feel free and ready to move on to bigger and better things, so I understand what you're saying and I'm glad you could do well at the end

6:50 in reference to the whole Jiley thing in season 4, I will ALWAYS believe that their breakup and conflict was mostly Alfie’s fault, yes riley could have gone about her feelings in a different way for example being honest with James from the start, however, bless riley, she felt extremely guilty about her feelings for Alfie, but Alfie knew damn well that riley was in a relationship but still pressured her into hanging out with him and going on dates with him behind James’s back. I believe riley wasn’t honest with james from the start because she believed she was going to push her feelings away and she also wouldn’t have wanted to ruin James’s time in London. Also Alfie was the one who initiated his kiss with riley and had absolutely no remorse over the fact he just made her cheat on James, and was bragging about it instead, I could go on about this for ages because thr storyline makes me so angry, but I think Alfie was the one responsible for the whole fallout as he pressured riley to become closer with him in my opinion. If you see this comment Britt I would love to hear your thoughts on this, but does anyone else here agree with me?🤷♀️

Riley was the best character on the next step, and when I watched her, I could feel everything she felt. Like when Riley kissed Alfie, I cried for Riley and disliked Alfie so much for what he was doing to her. But when James kissed Beth I could kind of see his side of things but I just loved Riley and I couldn’t stop myself from crying and disliking James. I don’t know how you make that connection with the audience Brittany but it is so amazing that I almost stopped watching TNS after you left. I know you are extremely unlikely to see this, but if you do just know how much I look up to you and that you literally changed my life. And if you remember your video where you said you would buy anyone a plane ticket to anywhere they wanted to go who got a question you asked right (ik you were joking), if I had won I would’ve went to Canada to see you. ❤
PS. If you are still answering questions at the end of each video I would like to know how TNS knew who to write off when? Did you have to reaudition for each season? If so what was it like?

This dance aswell was beautiful because Riley’s been my favourite character since I was seven years old and I’m now fifteen. Not only because she’s incredible and your acting is incredible, but I loved Riley/you dancing so much you always look so captivating as Riley when you’re dancing, you’ve honestly probably been a big driving force in my life to make me love dance again. I loved it as a little kid, stopped when I was 11, and now I’m looking for a dance school to get into again and want to do the same style dance as the next step usually would, specifically your/Riley’s style.
That was much more personal than I thought it would be. Moral of the story, I love Riley and your acting and dancing and the next step and letting go of Riley was very bittersweet for my nine year old self

I am one of those people that love Riley and James together and I agree with what you're saying about how they cheated on each other and they were toxic in that sense but I think they're such a big couple is because of how they did get together with other people and still came back together, like there was the whole storyline of James dating that other girl Beth? (I think that's her name) but he realized how much he loved Riley and wanted to win her back. The couple is such a fan favorite because of how they came back to each other no matter who came in between them, their love was so immense and that's why people don't like when you harp on them. Although I do agree that they should have had their own character growth alone the come back to each other stronger :)

Yesssss, I started trying to learn that (not on pointe, I’m not a trained dancer, I’m a completely self taught contemporary/hip hop dancer), it’s hard, I’ve been trying for months and I still can’t do it. I refuse to give up though. One day I will get it, I think maybe the problem is I don’t have enough space since I don’t go to a dance studio.

I stop watching TNS the moment I know Riley is not in 1st episode of season 5.
Out of all the TNS characters, I can say that you portrayed the most emotion, especially when you dance. And I guess that is also why fans are crazy about James and Riley, because you actually did a great job in playing Riley. There are many other couples in the show and yet we’re still cant get over Jiley!
But on the other hand, I agree with you. Riley deserves more of her own independent character development.
