I agree. I know the next step is about dancing but I think the acting is so underrated. Considering most of the cast are mainly dancers and not actors as well.

When I was younger I couldn’t really hear accents so even though everyone was Canadian to me they sounded British. The only time I realised it wasn’t a british show was when someone said “dollars” lol.

Riley is literally one of my two favourite characters until season 4. She makes some very questionable decisions but I still loved her. She and Daniel were my favourites in season one. In season two it was her and Emily. Then for three it was her and Noah

When I was 11 and this show came out, I literally got a haircut to have the same hair as Riley, like no joke and I used to wear the “puff” to school 😂🤦🏻♀️

Because its way more authentic and realistic and talked about more serious topics such as bullying, money problems within dancing (Chloe's Situation), realistic relationship struggles (Michelle, Emily, Eldon & James, Rily and Beth). And everything just felt way less childish but I heard somewhere that *TNS* had to make everything more childish *(lower the age rating)* so that TV stations like cbbc (and others in different countrys) could show it on their networks since their networks are aimed for children so they had to leave out mature topics such as relationships, bullying and money issues out. 😔
I remember seeing the trailer for this in Disney Channel and became so excited because I had just stared to practice ballet at the time, I even count the days for the premiere:) I think that my favorite parts of the episode and that really make me want to see the rest of the season was of course the dance, the hole Eldon having a crush in Emiliy and about Giselle being the only one not having a matching name with the other e-girls. And I am actually rewatching the first season because I really like that fake documentary vibe that this season have (and also the cast in the first 3 seasons is my favorite). I remember i heard it from my friends and i ended up absolutely addicted to this show the drama and the things that happen is so mesmorising to watch. I seriously have watched this show all the series back to back sooo many times :) Im 13 and still watch it hehe
i used to love the show. when it first aired, i enjoyed the interactions between the characters and kinda the drama and foreign-ness of it all to me. i wasn’t used to that kind of an atmosphere and i was only like 7 at the time so it was really cool to see people older than me being so interesting and independent and talented. love ya lots riley :)

I think I was like 12 when it aired and just seeing the high calibre of dance instantly inspired me to want to become a dancer, I’d always self teach myself the moves and the dances. So much so, 7 years later, I’ve been offered a place to study contemporary dance at Trinity Laban conservatoire in London from September onwards (which is one of the only conservatoires in the whole of England). So watching The Next Step very much did change my life, that’s why it always holds such a fond space in my heart 🤍
So I think for my friends and for my age TNS was kinda like Dance Moms for us. It has dancing and a shit ton of drama. Also, the show was just easy to fall in love with, from the characters to the drama and relationships it was just really fun to watch and become obsessed with.
I had a phase for both of those shows. When I was 9 I was so desperate to become a dancer because of dance moms and I was determined for a whole but eventually gave up and lose basic flexibility. Then when I was like 10/11 I found tns and I’m still stuck in the phase even when I’m about to turn 15 😭 and it makes me wanna start dancing again because I never got to actually get dance lessons

I think one of the things that made me love this show from the beginning was just how real if felt especially season one cause most shows you can feel the script or the fact that they are acting but this show made me feel like this was a genuine reality show and these friendships and love and fights were real this is one of the shows that pushed me to realise how much I truly appreciate acting which is why my dream is to be an actress I want people when they watch a show or movie I’m in to feel the realism in it

Fr I can't even finish watching the last seasons, the first seasons are just ✨immaculate✨.
Because its way more authentic and realistic and talked about more serious topics such as bullying, money problems within dancing (Chloe's Situation), realistic relationship struggles (Michelle, Emily, Eldon & James, Rily and Beth). And everything just felt way less childish but I heard somewhere that *TNS* had to make everything more childish *(lower the age rating)* so that TV stations like cbbc (and others in different countrys) could show it on their networks since their networks are aimed for children so they had to leave out mature topics such as relationships, bullying and money issues out. 😔

I remember seeing the trailer for this in Disney Channel and became so excited because I had just stared to practice ballet at the time, I even count the days for the premiere:)
I think that my favorite parts of the episode and that really make me want to see the rest of the season was of course the dance, the hole Eldon having a crush in Emiliy and about Giselle being the only one not having a matching name with the other e-girls.
And I am actually rewatching the first season because I really like that fake documentary vibe that this season have (and also the cast in the first 3 seasons is my favorite).

My friend used to get dropped at my house at 7 every morning and we would watch the next step on CBBC and dance along in my front room and then we would scoot to school. and I mean every. single. morning

I remember i heard it from my friends and i ended up absolutely addicted to this show the drama and the things that happen is so mesmorising to watch. I seriously have watched this show all the series back to back sooo many times :) Im 13 and still watch it hehe
i used to love the show. when it first aired, i enjoyed the interactions between the characters and kinda the drama and foreign-ness of it all to me. i wasn’t used to that kind of an atmosphere and i was only like 7 at the time so it was really cool to see people older than me being so interesting and independent and talented. love ya lots riley :)

I think I was like 12 when it aired and just seeing the high calibre of dance instantly inspired me to want to become a dancer, I’d always self teach myself the moves and the dances. So much so, 7 years later, I’ve been offered a place to study contemporary dance at Trinity Laban conservatoire in London from September onwards (which is one of the only conservatoires in the whole of England). So watching The Next Step very much did change my life, that’s why it always holds such a fond space in my heart 🤍

So I think for my friends and for my age TNS was kinda like Dance Moms for us. It has dancing and a shit ton of drama. Also, the show was just easy to fall in love with, from the characters to the drama and relationships it was just really fun to watch and become obsessed with.
I had a phase for both of those shows. When I was 9 I was so desperate to become a dancer because of dance moms and I was determined for a whole but eventually gave up and lose basic flexibility. Then when I was like 10/11 I found tns and I’m still stuck in the phase even when I’m about to turn 15 😭 and it makes me wanna start dancing again because I never got to actually get dance lessons
