Hard times creates hard men. We are fortunate now that we had such brave, courageous and hard men in 1920. Forever in your debt, Tom Barry and your volunteers. JB
These incredible videos are outstanding and heart wrenching.. Tom Barry is awesome in this video.. what a brave man.. his clear frank description of the battle.. including what brought it about.. is mesmerizing.. So effective is this format.. putting the viewer there.. right where it happened.. Either they will win or be wiped out.. Tom Barry wasted no words.. Thank you Davy.. for these videos you make.. thank you for your hard work.. and thank you most of all.. for caring🌹☘️ Jen999💜💙
.. well they would be called necessary tactics though. How would you describe the occupier’s tactics, terror and thug tactics, what kind of tactics are they though..

I have subscribed to this channel so I can learn about the horrendous acts committed by my country that we're not taught. I have never felt less proud to be british.
Yes they do. They fight for the same cause by getting up early every day to keep a job they don't want to do to earn a living for them and their families.
If you are from Co Kerry you might like to know that Tom Barry unveiled the monument in the town park of Tralee(known locally as "The Green" I think) to a young man named Hawley killed there by Black & Tans. There is a housing estate called "Hawley's Park" in Tralee named after him.
@@DailyPayWithFiona I would highly recommend the book "Tans,Terror & Troubles" which is about the revolutionary period in Co.Kerry which obviously includes the Irish War of Independence and Irish Civil War by T. Ryle Dwyer. He also writes a historic column in the local paper called "The Kerry's Eye".
The wild Heather Glen is a great read it gives a bit of a brief life story of the IRA volunteers that fought on the day of the ambush Great to see their memory alive and well today great stuff keep up the good work👍
There's plenty of republican interviews from early days up until the provos for some reason alot more videos that were lost are suddenly making a comeback. There is another documentary about the ira during the early days of Northern Ireland. The raid of a ruc barracks I can't quite remember rhe name though it has many volunteers telling their stories
Ace channel, im not irish im a west Yorkshire man but ive always leant toward the republican cause In Ireland, and I find the history fascinating as well as very shocking, I obviously say this with all due respect to everyone concerned

Some things never change on Irish roads, the speeding reckless and selfish drivers were around even in the 1960s. Like today he had no fear of the Gardai because he knew then as now they were a lazy, dysfunctional police force.
1918 we voted for Independence from the Empire, who would not accept the will of the people of Ireland. The British establishment did not recognize our Democratic right self determination & by all means at their disposal were hell bent on crushing us as a people.

I don't understand why some Irish fight against Irish warriors. It's bizarre and perverse.
I think that was recorded 1966.
