And for why I hate the multiverse stuff, I feel in comics it’s always the same… “You’re like me, but a little different!” “Oh! You know this guy? I know that guy!” “You ever do this? I did this!” It’s the same material over and over again, where it just is a scapegoat for lazy writing. Marvel would be so much cooler doing more street level stories now and focused on deeper topics.
Eh I’ll take all of that. I simply want more as long as it’s good or fun. And I’d like variety too. If marvel can’t balance good multiverse shenanigans, fun action movies, and street crime thrillers, then just do a good job in what they’re specializing in. Also what about the spiderverse movies, Loki, and even EEAAO
@@Dookieman1975hey, Marvel's MCU must grow up. Spider-Man is owned by Sony in movie rights while the Fox-Marvel characters are going into the MCU seriously step by step. It takes time and effort for these creatives to get those characters right by the books, but it is surely Disney who has something to do with the MCU falling on mostly identity politics or wokeness. That made those creators do whatever they want like spitting small gimmicks to make it work.
Thank you for saying this, I’ve had similar feelings since Endgame. It’s TOTALLY lazy. The only way the multiverse will work for me in the MCU is if it ends with a total reset, they could realistically go forever by resetting the story and cast every three phases or so. We wouldn’t need origins again, just start it off with the Avengers already assembled and go from there like the comics.
I don't think multiverse stories are inherently lazy, I think they've written inherently lazy multiverse stories. The idea that the multiverse means infinite possibilities should open the door for anything imaginable, but they keep using it the same way.
To be fair, he was right; captain america was mostly a joke for a long time. I think Chris Evans was the biggest factor in Cap getting love these days.
It was more of an Aquaman situation where he was a joke in the public eye, but still really awesome in the comics, Cap has been generally very consistently good in the comics, similar to Daredevil
@@dolier2802 sadly neither he nor daredevil have made it to flagship levels of sales. Both are absolutely great characters that just never got as popular as they should have.
While they were campy I personally loved those movies as a kid😂 and the casting was almost perfect and they at the very least nailed their family dynamic unlike the disgrace that was Fant4stic in 2015😅
He definitely played a great Human Torch but he is iconic as Captain America. Only when people dont understand Captain America do they think he is joke. Cap is one of the best characters of Marvel.
@LA-cl4cc No Way Home was fine, they only had problems due to covid. Doctor Strange wasn't bad either, cgi was fine there was just alot of bad writing. It also honestly felt like a Scarlett Witch movie
@StreetSeeker you need to watch deadpool and wolverine then, i feel like itd be your favourite movie of the multiverse saga if you like the cameo aspect
i love the idea of them bringing him back in Secrets Wars as an alternate earth version of Johnny Storm. there could be a great moment where he shows up to save the day and everyone thinks hes Cap until he yells "flame on" and jets off the ground into the air on fire blowing everyones minds (including the newly announced MCU version of the Human Torch). it would he an incredible moment where not only do we see Evans return to the MCU but also return to one of (if not) his biggest preMCU roles...which is a role a lot of FF fans have been waiting to see him back in for years
The multiverse is a dope idea they’ve been doing it forever way before it was a new hip idea. They even did it with the 90s spiderman cartoon. Done right it’s a dope storyline.
Hot take: he never screamed Captain America. When I think Captain America I automatically think Chris Evans like I do Hugh Jackman for Wolverine. It’s impossible not to. So much time playing these characters that the name is with them forever but they never embodied the characters to me. But they’re rich now. Who cares?
Bro what’s crazy to me is I cannot see Anthony mackie as anything but a Co-Star the final boss in 8mile who choke and doesn’t say a word. The Squad leader in the hurt locker & the over emotional steroid abuser in Pain & Gain lol
He also didn't want to sign on to play Captain America because they were asking him to sign a 10 year contract and that caused him to have anxiety, because he struggles with anxiety. I would love to see him as Johnny Storm again. I enjoy when Chris plays smart ass characters and I think he played that role well.
I'll bet Chris is thankful Robert talked him into being Cap because now Steve Roger's is even more loved & it's all thanks to Chris accepting the role. It would be interesting to see him as Johnny again only from a different universe.
The multiverse does suck. Once you accept that everything that can happen exists somewhere, it takes all of the necessity out of your story. It's one of the very few things that Rick and Morty gets right: the plot doesn't matter because winning and losing both exist across the multiverse.
I’m fed up with the multiverse too, mostly, stuff like this is exactly what I’d use it for, revisiting fan favorite stuff that didn’t get a fair shake every now and again, seems cool to me
I love the multiverse saga, I love seeing all the properties becoming Canon in the MCU and being able to finish them all before moving on to the soft reboot
They only made a Captain America movie in 1990 just to keep the rights longer? That's wild. I liked Chris as Captain America. But Id really like another Fantastic Four movie though.
I grew up on him as Human Torch, and I would love to see him and Micheal B Jordan's Human Torch cross paths at least once. If we're reaching into the barrel we might as well pull out all the stops
Not going to lie, Chris Evans is similar to Johnny’s personally wise, rather than Steve(Cap). I think Chris Evans wants to bring out his comedic side is the reason why he wants to play that character more rather than a Captain America variant.
Except Cannon Films , when it imploded, had the production rights of Spider-Man and Captain America tramsferred to 21st Century Films, a new company set up by one of Cannon's founders. Spider-Man was still stuck in development hell, while Cap managed to find its funding and get made. A few original ideas from the film did carry over to the First Avenger production, like Cap and the Red Skull both receiving earlier versions of the super serum. Both versions of Cap had costumes faithful to the comic book original, too.
THANK YOU!!! This Multiverse is getting way too played out. It’s a good concept to be used maybe once or twice, but they’re trying to incorporate it into everything now.
I'd love to see a scene like they did with Brandon Routh in the arrowverse. He appeared as The Atom in Arrow but then returned to reprise his role as Superman when they collected the Supermen during crisis on infinite earth's.
Seeing where Chris Evans is now in his career I don’t know why I think it’s so weird that he was in Not Another Teen Movie since that’s what actors do. They act. Im sure some of you will understand where I’m come from 😅

His human torch would hit on Captain Marvel

I think the spiderverse films show what can make a good multiverse movie
