One that I removed had to be removed as one solid unit because someone had waxed the bobbin onto the bar at some point and it was difficult to remove even after having the whole assembly out of the body. They had also put copper shielding tape around the bobbin for what that's worth. You never know what you'll run into in these 80+ year old guitarrs.
