In my opinion, NHØP is one of Denmark's and Scandinavai's greatest contributions to music. In this splendid documentary we also get to know NHØP's observations and reflections on a number of issues -- I did not know beforehand that this fabulous person also represents deep wisdom for life.
Wow 1992 huh, interesting. As a double bassist, he is currently my favorite. The sound, the technique...I am the spirit that will carry NHOP’s very advanced playing. Mark this quote people, one day I will emerge and credit this wonderful man as one of my greatest inspirations!
Yellow Bird thanks! I feel like I have a unique story as far as my musical journey goes. Hopefully one day when our world returns to its better self, I can get some good recording equipment and show the world the truth. But it’s for more reasons than that, if you care I want to be living proof that if you can dedicate yourself enough to something and have a natural gravitation towards it, the impossible is nothing. Passion lies from within and we all have something special to share with the world.
Many came here during the Vietnam war. They didn't want to go kill "gooks" for Uncle Sam, so we gave them asylum. Also, we don't care about the melatonin-level in peoples skin.
Do you have this translation. I have loved & revered NHOP for many years and have visited his last resting place in Osted DK (near Roskilde) to pay my respects.
How difficult is to being and complete a comparative study of jazz bassists? I suggest that somebody undertake such a project. These people are more numerous than you can imagine.
More attention to the double bassist's proficiency and musical talent would have been a better way to introduce his contribution to jazz. There should have been more musical performance and less talking. This presentation became a treatise on current events.
The " talkin' " from the main actor .....is precious and rare . It avoids speculations and " bla-bla " from sham teams ....and ignorants . It's a gift to listen that close and intimate conversation .
Che grande, grandissimo musicista. Uno dei più talentuosi contrabbassisti jazz mai esistiti. R.I.P.

It is interesting that so many jazz icons went to Europe for performing jazz.
Many came here during the Vietnam war. They didn't want to go kill "gooks" for Uncle Sam, so we gave them asylum. Also, we don't care about the melatonin-level in peoples skin.
