I'm the same way bro and I'm gonna be 43 this July 8th. But when it comes too good views and water like that or beautiful lakes and countryside I'm all for it. That's why I moved too the pocono mountains and now live on a beautiful peaceful lake. I always stop when I see someone in that position but I also carry so I'm sure not everyone does and would be afraid too stop.

Dave I strongly suggest on your way back towards home you come back through Wyoming and visit Yellowstone National Park and grand Teton National Park. If you think what your looking at up in Alaska is beautiful your going to be absolutely blown away at what you'll see in Yellowstone. It's a must visit for sure you will not regret it my brother
You can buy one pass that'll get you into both parks and you can stay in Jackson hole which is a town between both parks. When you get service on your phone Google grand prismatic hotspring and mammoth hot springs in Yellowstone the colors there are outrageous trust me when I tell you

Best i can say is to open all the windows, and turn up the heat all the way.
Someone from road side assistance taught me about that as a kid.
It won't fix anything, But it will take away some of the heat from under the hood. Which gives you the ability to drive a little bit further before it starts running too hot.
It's only a little but it could be just far enough in some cases, And it's a trick that they still use today.
Or at least, They do in the Netherlands.
That’s funny about turning the heat up. I remember doing that as a teenager myself when I had a car that overheated all the time 😂
It's how me and my dad got an old Mazda that suddenly punctured it's radiator, just far enough to get home. XD
Heater up, windows down, and rolling at idle as much as possible

Well, Dave uploaded the video, so he obviously made it back to civilization. A satellite phone would have been handy, but frankly, if you lived, this makes better content.
Good God man as a truck driver you should know that out on the road alone your best friend is a CB radio but it should have been the first thing and I would be on it constantly.
Dont remember where exactly in Alaska you're going to but theres a town called Whittier where nearly the entire town lives in. From what I've seen, the only accessible way in & out for cars is a single lane through a 2 mile tunnel

Take something and soak up the water in the potholes all around you use your funnel fill up the jug then fill the car and fill the jug again

You should still be proud of that car for it to last as long as it did with you going thru the different elevation changes and it putting that much more pressure on the car as old as it is. Kudos to that Focus 💯

@@RidingWithDave Way back I bought a 75 Camaro for $400 turned out to be a very dependable car, darn car was bulletproof man. I Never got into an accident, never a traffic ticket, never got haulled home on the back of a tow truck with it, Rust claimed it when it was 19 years old. Dave, you ever consider doing American Truck simulator on your channel? You would get to drive, compare the simulator to places you have been IRL, with out the stress and hassle of being on the road and working for a shipper.

At least in the 80's when I traveled America in "crappy" vehicles, you could loosen the radiator cap, to reduce the pressure, and then wrap the leak in electrical tape or friction tape, and keep going. The little FORCUS let you down, LOL. Have fun.

OK DAVE, DON'T KILL IT AT ALL, IF HAVE TO ADD COOLANT MAKE SURE THAT THE ENGINE IS RUNNING, OR WAIT TILL IT COOLS OFF, AND AS LONG AS YOU DON'T SEE BLACK SMOKE COMING OUT OF THE TAIL PIPE, THE ENGINE COULD STILL BE SAVED, TAKE CARE BRO 🫂
Bro NEVER pour cold coolant into a HOT NON RUNNING engine. ALWAYS keep the motor running while adding coolant.

You can still call 911 in Canada and they would’ve sent a tow truck
that happened to me once, topped my car off with oil, let the cap off and drove away. Was wondering why it smelled like oil, stopped and realized what I had done haha. Luckily I there was an AutoZone literally on the next block.
When I did the oil cap oil started creeping up the hood
I left mine off while being so diligent on one of my wild hair adventures and I was in the middle of nothing in Arizona. The smoke that came out of my hood almost paralyzed me. This nice lady was on her wY to pick up her husband from work and tried to help me, she told me the nearest town and I went there and they cleaned it up. Just because I left the cap off after filling it.

If Yo Lice BC? Many USA Truckers drive Wide Load Equpment Kansas-Missouri) to Mines and Hydro in Northern Quebec. Scenery in all Canada is Fantastic! R. One thing Nice about North Quebec and Ontarion, they have SOS phones, when Out of Cell. North Mines someone will come by to flag at least evry 5-10 mins. West is still new..
