Man Buys Ounces of Gold in 1988 ... Then THIS Happened

  • A man bought multiple ounces of gold in 1988, then this happened!
    If gold is worth over $2000 an ounce at the beginning of 2024, what did an ounce of gold cost in 1988? Has gold kept up with inflation? Lost value compared to inflation, or gained more value than inflation?
    If you gift gold to your children while you are alive or in your will, is it possible to be too generous with your children or with one of your children when it comes to cash gifts or the gift of gold?
    Are you stacking gold in 2024? Would you like to pass along your wealth to future generations, by giving the gift of gold? Are you preserving your wealth now in the form of gold, for your own needs in your retirement?
    Are you a gold stacker? Do you stack fractional Gold Coins or full ounce gold coins? Do you stack US Mint American Gold Eagles? Other gold bullion?
    As a gold stacker (or silver stacker), with today's prices, are you adding more physical ounces of precious metals now, or are you holding, or are you selling?

    Absolutely perfect demonstration of how converting your cash to Gold will protect your wealth in the long term. Still not an “investment”, as you compared it to Apple stock, but the wisest way to SAVE money, rather than depositing it in a bank. I save all my dollars for my son with Silver, and more importantly, GOLD. When he’s in his 20’s or 30’s, it will most certainly have kept up with (and exceeded) inflation.

    Great comparison. Folks who bought some oz of gold in 1988 had a hard time in the 1990s when the prices went down. The turnarond came after the year 2000. Apple is a very special case due to the IT revolution, so it´s a little bit questionable to compare it to an asset like gold. Anyways, a very informative vid, sorry to hear that your dad passed away last year. Greets from GER, U.

    I think the 1125 figure is a bad comparison since the value of cash would still be 436. The value of the 436 actually decreased today has less than half its original value.

    • @SilverHeist
      @SilverHeist  4 місяці тому

      I see your point. The $436 is not worth $1125. But the goods bought for $436 now takes $1125 to buy. It takes twice as many dollars to buy things as before. So the dollar is worth less. About half less.
      We are almost saying the same thing.

Purchase price is $436.77 in 1988 to January 2024 how much earnings should you have collected and how much capital gains you would you have to pay per share?
