@newkid0693 It doesnt matter what the building is clad with, brick or glass, because skyscrapers aren't designed to bear load on their outer walls. Thats what steel and concrete columns are for. A steel building sheathed in glass is just as strong as that same steel building covered in brick. Its whats on the inside that counts.
@Epicpizza1 Yes because many countries in Asia are currently where the US was about 100 years ago, still in the industrial stage of development. They will eventually grow out of it like the US and other western countries if they start focusing on things besides manufacturing.
Before I went to NYC, I was expecting a futuristic city like Metropolis from Superman or some Asian cities like Tokyo, Shanghai, Singapore, and Seoul. Instead, I arrived there to see Gotham City.. not pleasing to the eye. On a side note though, people were very friendly and approachable in Manhattan
@CenturysSamurai I have seen The American Dream, several months ago. What you don't get is, I'm not talking about paper money, I'm talking about currency, any type of currency, gold, silver etc...whatever. At the end of the day everything has a price. Why should I sale something for 3 dollars, if it costs me 1200 dollars to make? I would love to live in a world where money doesn't matter, but that's not the world we live in, people are just too greedy, they want more, we're only human.
@ervin920 Uhhh... have you been to New York? New York was made from brick in the 30's, maybe. Either way, the material a building is lined with doesn't actually say anything about the integrity of its architecture, or how "modern" it is. If you really think making buildings shinier makes them better or more advanced, I'm sorry.
@xlr8up I'm sure the movement will get ever stronger with people like you on board... Because insulting people is a great way to get your voice heard ;)
well, I wouldnt say new york is the city of the future because its filled with a bunch of old buildings, besides there are more cities like dubai or shanghai that actually BEAT new york in skyline. Just search it up!
@CenturysSamurai Say, money doesn't buy you happiness, the items you get do, is the exact same thing as saying money buys happiness, because money is the only way you can buy those things. Say that to the homeless man who lives down the street from my house, or the millions of unemployed Americans who can't afford to pay their bills, because they don't have money, or can't afford to buy food and basic neccesities. I think they would argue that money, does buy happiness.
@duskedennis do you mean to tell me that you want to plan and think logically about the year 2013 and beyond? didnt think there were people like you on youtube
@spareaxe First off, I don't know who you are, and I mean no offence, but if you had read all of the previous comments that I and CenturysSamurai posted, than you'd know what we were talking about. You can't just read one comment and automatically think you know what the discussion was about.
@CenturysSamurai And you think the robots and mechanics/scientists are free? Everything in our world is worth something, that's just the kind of world we live in. Money does buy happiness.
@AZ09astrophysicist ok then let me give you some facts. 1. New York City has a greater population then chicago, toranto, and houston combined. 2. no city on earth can compare NYC in terms of "activities" 3. New York id the financial capital. 4. per square mile/ per person NYC is one of the greenest city on Earth. 5.New York is 1 of the 3 world class cities 6. If Newyork was its own country it would by the 8th or 9th richest county in the worlds. so yea is sure New York is greatest city
_____New York smells at ground level. I mean it. There's this awful aroma of old car exhaust mixed with old cheesy hotdogs wrapped in funk. Maybe if you live there long enough, you don't notice. Or you're so rich yourself that you live in penthouses, get around in private helicopters and don't give a Bronx cheer about it.
I was in nearly every big city on earth: Dubai, Shanghai, Tokyo.... and I can say NYC is the best of them !!!!!
whats the song?
@AZ09astrophysicist in what way?
I love your brick buildings
A lot of the buildings in new york are old. All those cities you mentions has had fairly recent construction booms so of course it looks more new.
@cappermeh They are building more innovative stuff now, but I am angry that they won't build more futuristic looking buildings. Like the new WTC
@newkid0693 It doesnt matter what the building is clad with, brick or glass, because skyscrapers aren't designed to bear load on their outer walls. Thats what steel and concrete columns are for. @cappermeh Have you ever even been to New York?
@Epicpizza1 Yes because many countries in Asia are currently where the US was about 100 years ago, still in the industrial stage of development. They will eventually grow out of it like the US and other western countries if they start focusing on things besides manufacturing.
@CenturysSamurai Selling a plasma tv for 3 bucks won't work because it cost more than that to make one.
Before I went to NYC, I was expecting a futuristic city like Metropolis from Superman or some Asian cities like Tokyo, Shanghai, Singapore, and Seoul. @limitless69 1) england is a country not a city. and 2) New York City is the financial capital of the world, then comes Londan then Tokyo

Dont get rod of your big buildings.
The east of Russia is whats called "siberia" a snowy wasteland. Russia has 2/3 the population of america not half. Go to school.
...those do not look like New Yorkers
No its not, anymore.
you know what else would be profound bill , if you hillary nancy pelosi and al gore stop flying your private jets all over the world
dubai is building empty buildings
@cappermeh Lol still a huge failure. You obviously have never been there if you think all of New York's buildings are glass.
NYC is overrated.
