- The 2022 Kia Sedona (2021 Kia Carnival) goes on sale in Korea in the third quarter of this year, with other markets to follow.
What you're seeing here is the home market version that will go on sale in South Korea.
Based on Kia’s new mid-size platform, the Sedona / Carnival has been dubbed a ‘Grand Utility Vehicle’; more refined, roomy and capable than ever, and offering greater space and efficiency than its predecessors - as well as all current rivals in the minivan segment. Its new SUV-inspired design is matched with a modern new interior with a range of technologies designed to assist drivers, while protecting and entertaining occupants. Intelligent packaging over three or even four rows, class-leading cargo capacity, and a range of storage areas throughout the cabin also make it an immensely practical option for families.
It will offer seating for as many as 11 passengers in four rows. Three-row versions will carry seven or eight occupants. There's even a configuration that offers a rear-facing second row.

When he said "lounge interior" I was expecting wrap around seats, so seats that form kind of a circle in the back, but leaving space for you to enter the back, that would've been pretty cool
In Korea, 9 passenger cars can use the bus-only high-speed carpool lane on the highway. And there are tax savings.
Therefore, there is a 9 passenger minivan only for domestic models in Korea.
It's only 9 seats in the form, but the 4th row is sinking, so people can't actually ride normally, and it's 6 seats.
The problem with this 6 seater vehicle is that cargo can penetrate through the central passage without distinction between cargo space and passenger space.
The manufacturer does not provide any barrier or safeguards.
In addition, families with three children should always have one child seated in the vulnerable third row from rear-end collisions.
In addition, there are 11-seater commercial vehicles designed for tax benefits.
The 11-seater with a two-point lapbelt is surprisingly used as a school bus.
As you all know, there are virtually no regular children's car seats available for a two-point seat belt.
Toyota Sienna, Honda Odyssey, Chrysler Pacifica and Kia Sedona, all sold in North America, don't have nine-seater seats.
8 seater is mainstream trim and 7 seater is luxury trims for small families.
The 8 seater can safely carry three children 3 across car seats in 2nd rows, and separating the cargo space from the passenger seat.
Kia Motors should stop intentional differences and discrimination in safety between domestic and export markets.

This all-new Sedona looks so much better looking than the new Toyota Sienna (cancer mouthed catfish look) or Honda Odessey. I am ditching my Honda minivan and getting this for sure!!!

If they offer the Kia Sedona in AWD. I will reconsider it. I own a 2005 Kia Sedona and it's pretty low mileage 68k. Kia has gotten luxurious over the years.
I like the interior just wish it was style abit more like the Telluride especially the gear selector and the center console area.. the exterior is impressive.. hope some models comes with out the metallic Finnish at the rear.. the tail gate handle and release is way lower than the current model I have

Please tell me they’ll make this a plug in hybrid. It’s not like handling or performance would matter and who knows maybe it would handle better bc of where they put the batteries or something
My only complaint is that having so much body mass and weight and height isn’t great for pedestrian safety. And considering that ALL of us at some stage ARE PEDESTRIANS, it MAKES SENSE to make vehicles safer for pedestrians. Care for the world through design, not intimidate it.
Car manufacturers need to stop imitating other manufacturers. This rear light bar design thing needs to stop. It looks good only on Chargers and certain Porsche models.
