On my next video "Small boat Safety" What would you like to me to cover? 🌊
Great idea! Clothing for if you go overboard into cold water would be great. Also, any other information would be really useful.
Second back up motor/system not counting your oars. What would you do?
@@pandaoverboard anchor and call for help I reckon mate
having a compass was a great addition! you could talk briefly about how you might find your way back in the fog
Theres some serious tidal rips where I'm at......i might need a auxiliary engine or i might end up in the corryvrekan😂@@AirbornePirates
Great video, photography was fabulous, I know it sounds daft but what essential is a must have as summer coming and a lot of novice's may take a boat out and get into trouble .
Essential kit for me would be:
Anchor (in case you lose power)
VHF radio
Mobile Phone
PLB as I go out alone
First Aid Kit
Compass (visibility changes)
Really looking forward to the upcoming videos including a top speed test when your new engine is fully run in. I would love to upgrade my 6hp to 9.8hp when I get the opportunity. 20hp too heavy for me to lift when not using a trailer. Thanks for the great content.
I could be wrong but I think my 20hp isn’t much heavier than the 9.8. 43kg all in
@@AirbornePirates wow! I would have expected it to be much more than that. You have a great setup now for some amazing SIB adventures.
Mate that is an absolute pearler of a setup! Looking forward to (your) summer adventures.
👌🙌🙌🙌🙌🌊
Good video mate! I got sick swimming at garwick about 3 years ago, my brother did warn me about the sewage outlet but I didn't believe it would be a problem ! Loving the new land rover, can we get a quick clip on it? We will see you down Laxey harbour over the summer.
Of course you can bud it looks much better since that little shot, front end rebuild 😬
Brilliant - Very Nice Landrover too!
Indeed it is! Bit of a child hood dream owning a defender for me 😁 took me 40 years to get one 😂
@@AirbornePirates It was for me too! I am now on my third... The first was a bit of a wreck, so I ended up giving it away. The second got nicked and the third I've had for 20-years. I've used it for everything from carrying my band gear around (I played drums in a band for 14-years), to shifting tons of sandstone slabs from my garden to a local nature reserve. My Dad owned a LWB Safari in the 70's, as did two of my Uncles. We toured Scotland towing caravans and boats and stuff, never let us down. They're definitely in my blood anyway - absolutely love them!
I sold my Quicksilver HD 420 with a 30 HP Tohatsu and i kind of regretted it later, because it’s actually very practical for Diving, here on the west coast of Denmark 🇩🇰
And it’s easy to find a spot where you can put the boat in the water.
I often Dive alone, so a Rubber boat is nice and easy to handle, compared to a bigger fiberglass boat 🛥
I like the look of the “Pocket Rocket” but I would prefer something slightly bigger, because the heavy gear and extra Tanks take up a lot of space..😄
Your Videos are Awesome by the way, and I hope that we will see some more Underwater videos from your area ! 👍
They do a 4m version now I believe! 👍 thanks for watching and greetings to you in Denmark 🇩🇰
Great Video! Well put together 👏
Thank you! 👍
I must have missed the channel name change 😮
Great video - love the boat, looks top notch 👍👍🙏
Glad you like it 🏴☠️
fun fun fun . thanks for sharing
Glad you enjoyed it
Good video buddy 👍. I really like the carbon pro, i am considering one when I’ve got some skills accrued on my tobin cheapie 😂. I didn’t realise you’d changed your name by the way but I like it. Keep up the good work 👍
Thanks 👍 appreciated mate
I HAVE THE SAME Motor!! It's a beast. Enjoy buddy :D
😎😎😎😎🏴☠️
Great video, love the channel. I’m looking to add some additional connectors to my battery box for USB and on for my electric pump - can I ask, does the battery run down even a small amount if the battery terminals are connected? Also, do you have a terminal on your battery box for charging? Thanks
I’ve not noticed them dropping at all, I plug straight in to the SAE port to charge so I never have to open it, if that makes sense?
thanks for sharing your experiences, cool to see the different accessories for your boat. I'm wondering if your 9.8hp just needs an idle adjustment/cleaning? There is an idle/air intake screw that can be cleaned/adjusted.
Possibly Dustin, it has been regularly serviced and never missed a beat when throttle open
Awesome setup. I’m gonna upgrade to that boat, but will have to gt it shipped to NZ
NZ is Awesoome!! Big fan
Great vid.. I’m on the CP365 with a merc15.. same set up with the seamax.. I also have the same garmin fish finder and battery bag.. I actually attached the Borika mount/base to the bottom of the plastic garmin battery cradle.. it’s lined up perfect so the whole in the cradle lines up exact with the screw/bolt on the Borika mount.. I then cut a whole in the bottom of the bag and threaded some plumbing parts to make it all secure.. it a bit of a bodge but actually looks fine and works perfectly.. now I just attachment the fish finder, battery cradle and bag straight onto the attachment on the seat.. I can send some photos of what I’ve done if you like
That’s an amazing idea Paul, I hadn’t considered it. Please send pics that would be great, are you on Instagram!?
@@AirbornePirates no probs.. away for a week grabbing some sunshine but will send some pics over on my return .
@@Existingdebt enjoy the ☀️
HI, thanks again for another excellent video, really looking forward to your up and coming vids with with the new 20hp. I'm after the same set up and noticed all the links above but couldn't see a link on where you bought the trailer or Tohatsu outboard? Could you oblige please? ;o)
I bought the outboard locally from a marine service centre here on the island.
The trailer you can get from Boatworld 5% off with code airborne
It’s the extreme inflatable 350 model
Thanks for watching 😬
Hi! Have you got a link to the smaller box you bought for your DIY battery box please?
Sorry I don’t, it’s made by pelicase 👍
@@AirbornePirates Thank you :) Loving the content mate!
..oh and one other quick question, I've looked online and cannot locate which holder you've used for the VHF handheld radio?
Here you go bud
amzn.to/3w9RnvP
hi, please could you measure the boats beam with the Extreme trailer on/wheels sticking out etc.....as I'm going to try and squeeze her down the side of the house and need to know her total size. thnx.
Hi buddy the beam is 1.57m (wheel to wheel) on the trailer. I will say, the boat protrudes out slightly on the side bunks but only by a few inches.
I’d measure your available space off the beam of the carbon pro (if that’s the boat you’re getting) 1.8m
I'm actually starting to do my research regarding those boats but how many people can you fit in it? with everything you actually have there on your set up? and since I'm located in the US FL to be more precise, we have a lot beaches will the boat be suited for beach waters and canal or river as well? Thanks much appreciated.
I believe 4-5 people. There’s an American brand called Stryker which make similar ?
What was that tach meter for the engines hours? I’d Like one for my 30hp Tohatsu engine. Can you enter the engine hours as mine has done 25 hours now from new .
I’ve got the Extreme 500 bunk trailer for my 4.2m sib
I don’t think you can add engine hours to it. It’s linked in description mate
No link to the tach meter
Is the boat welded or glued?
No idea bud, Boatworld might be able to answer that
Can you put a big motor on it
20hp max bud
Can I buy one of these in America?
I think there are similar models in America by a company called stryker
