As a soft summer i find all i need is gray eyeliner and mascara no blush and a light pretty pink lipstick and I have never had so many compliments less is definitely more with soft summer
You use grey mascara too or only the eyeliner?
@@aaaaaaaaaaaaa420 as a soft summer i do not wear mascara either. All look too harsh on me. Maybe a burgundy one works and I used to wear alot but now I am on another page. Experiment with different kinds for yourself but maybe stay away from intensive blacks spiderwise ones.

I’m definitely a soft summer: Mousey brown hair with a neutral complexion that leans toward pink. On the continuum I think I’m closer to soft autumn than other soft summers. But I’m definitely on the cooler side. Almost all oranges look horrible on me. I can only pull off a pinky coral. But, I tried the grey under-toned makeup and it didn’t work. I found it felt too True Summer for me. In the end I discovered that a dull brown does wonders on me. Maybe dull brown is what you mean by gray undertones and I’m just splitting hairs. But I pick all my colors looking for this undertone. So I use all the principles in this video with a slight adjustment in undertone. I avoid all brights and pure solids. Muted is the way to go. No bright jewelry. It totally works.

Thank you for this informative video. As a soft summer it took me years to learn that I don’t look good in heavy liner and dramatic lip colors. I’ve been using my shadow as liner for years and never understood why it looked better than liquid until now!
Another tip for soft summers that I have learned is for the holiday season. If you want to wear a more wine or plum lipstick for a Christmas or New Year’s Eve party, but don’t want to look over done (or look like a little girl who got into mommy’s makeup). Blend a more neutral rose or mauve color with the darker one. I will put one color on my top lip and the other color on my bottom lip and blend with a lip brush.

This is fantastic advice! It would explain why I never look right with perfectly lined black eyeliner. Smokey & smudged eye makeup looks best on me. And my best lipstick to date is Colourpop's Blotted Lip, because it gives off that diffused, wash of color that doesn't overpower my face. I wish I had understood the difference between true summer & soft summers when I was in my 20s. Would've saved me a lot of makeup faux pas. lol. Thank you for this invaluable information! I am a soft summer with a slightly darker skin (my skin is like a little darker than olive skin) and at first I thought I'd be a warm tone but my veins are blue and I suit more like soft muted out colours, also I cannot pull off gold jewellery haha so I think I suit cool tone more

Hi Vera, which eyebrow colour could you recommend? It needs be a cool and ashy tone I think. But I haven t found a perfect one, yet. I am from Germany and we don t have the brands you named in your list. But maybe you know the perfect colour from Benefit or Dior, or Mac or other Brands that are in common in many places. 😊 ☀️☀️☀️
I apply the Fenty bronzer in the shade amber on my dark ash blonde eyebrows and it looks amazing
I am from germany too and found a few great options that are grey and ashy which is rare.
My top picks are:
- Artdeco Eyebrow Pencil Nr. 06 - Medium Grey Brown, it's a lot cooler and grey compared to every other pencil but for my brow hairs (very sparse and very light but greyish-taupe, so this is still too warm for me but the best bet in the pencil category)
- Eyebrow Powder Duo from Anastasia Beverly Hills in Taupe or Medium Brown as they both have 2 colours and one of the both of them is greyish ashy
- My holy grail is the eyeshadow from MAC in the colour Coquette which is described as a Muted greyish-taupe but if you look at swatches online it almost has a greenish undertone to it, it's very muted and a cool taupe/grey with this unique greenish hue to it, I use it lightly with a Sigma E20 brush to give my hairs a soft background and with a very fine eyeliner brush (wet or dry) to draw hair like strokes and it looks so natural, I suspect it's because of the green hue... I never came across another color like this, it's the perfect muted muddy ''Straßenköter-Blond''-color

I would experiment with a grey smokey eye, jennifer lawrence has a lot of looks or dakota johnson has a few looks with heavier or deeper colored makeup as well I think :)
But wouldn't you agree that a more muted tone foundation would be better? I'm most definitely a soft summer and pink foundations are instantly miss piggy material.just a suggestion :)

Looking for Soft Summer makeup colors from cruelty-free companies. Been so difficult to find!!!!
Colourpop is cruelty-free and they make a ton of quality products. Best part is it's affordability, which they accomplish by selling lower quantities in each product, which I don't mind since it's usually only $5 or $6.
Anastasia Beverly Hills, NYX, Smashbox, Urban Decay & even Wet 'n' Wild are a few more great cruelty-free brands, among others. Companies are slowly, but surely jumping on the cruelty-free bandwagon and I must say, it's about time.
