My friend and I tried this one for the first time yesterday. Spent about 45 minutes on it. Lots of cussing and laughing at ourselves. But then we played some eight ball and shot like FIRE! I don't break and run often in 8 ball, but I started off with one and almost got two in a row. A couple racks later, I had a start-from-scratch runout. He almost never B+Rs, but he laid down a hard-earned one (we were playing double at this point) and I almost followed that up, but caught a bad kiss on a tough draw shot for the eight. Brain Wash is right. We were both seeing the table in a completely different way after running this drill
Yes!!! That's the comment I was waiting for... nice job guys!!! 🤩🤩 First some hard work, then it will pay off... This drill is especially good for 8ball. Thanks for watching! Feel free to check out my channel for more (8ball) videos: ua-cam.com/users/results?search_query=niels+the+terminator+feijen+8ball
@@NielsTheTerminatorFeijen I shot three racks of this yesterday and then we played some 9-ball. It took me a few racks to get back into the 9-ball mentality. Do you have a particular drill that's as good for 9b as brainwash is for 8b? I have one that's great for closing out 9b racks, but not for the full rack
Great to hear! It's a really great 8ball drill 😊😊 Feel free to check out my full playlist with 8ball drills: ua-cam.com/play/PLzjzZn8Miek31NKLru_5qg6FUBRYVRtGK.html
Great video, Niels! I appreciate how you demonstrate your ability to adapt and rethink your patterns after getting out of line. This is a crucial skill that can significantly elevate a player's game. Beginners often fall into the trap of being fixated on their initial pattern, leading to missed opportunities .

This drill is mentioned and described by Ralph Eckert in his book on Modern Pool, where he credits it to Mr. Jim Rempe. It look intimidating for a novice, but given the rules, your options are pretty limited by the traffic congestion. Technically it looks doable, as the shots are basic, but the novelty factor makes it seem tough.
I believe a drill that would have a mixture of everything would extremely improve shot making. Clusters, frozen rail balls, etc. Please make a demo for this idea?
@Michael Fields Back when I started my channel I did this one a couple years ago already. I learned this drill from a good friend in the 90s. Niels is such an inspiration to me, I love his willingness to share everything he can for the community. Taking his Mental Training Course is the best thing I have ever done for my game. ua-cam.com/video/sKL7PAHswG4/v-deo.html
Hi there! Thanks for watching. It's great for 8ball because you practice your position game with short distances between the balls.. like it often is with 8ball. Greetz!! 😊😊
You could start with fewer balls and/or just start using half of the table. Progressively add more balls as you improve and open yourself up to using the full table.
Don't aim to lower the difficulty instead aim to up your play. Don't get frustrated if you can't do it, instead count how many balls you pocket before messing up and 1 day your number will be 15 or more.
Thanks for the tutorial, am "only" a hobby player but will incorporate this into my training as well. I'm very curious whether I finally play with a plan and not, as so often, with the last balls or even snooker myself.

I luv the "huh" sound effect before plan C... lmao... God knows that's me watching my teammates play 😆
😅😅 I make that sound a lot when I watch myself play
I cringe sometimes when I'm watching one of my teammates in Napa shoot the wrong shot . 😬😆
They did great this week, 63 points.😃

I see CJ Wiley method of a touch of inside really coming in handy here to cheat those bad angles. Great stuff as always!

Thank you Niels. This comes at a good time. I'm playing in the APA World Championships this weekend in Las Vegas. Drills like this come in handy.
Play well, Dan!
How'd you do!?
Thank you Niels!
Great video niels! Always like how detailed you explained the drill(s). Could you cover drag shots for the next one?
Great exercise, and great explanations! Will use it to practice for an 8-ball tournament next weekend.
Nice one Gustaf! Enjoy it 💪🏼💪🏼😄
Great video Niels. Really
Many thanks pal! Glad you liked it 😊😊
Every battle plan ends with the first shot, best laid plans of mice and men, etc.. but a great drill none the less.
I’ve seen Earl do this. Huge help for sure. You explain it perfectly Niels. Thanks again for another great video!
Hey Neils .. I’ve always used this drill , only I used rails . So this eye awakening for me Neils ..I’m getting on my table , thanks to you sir !
I believe a drill that would have a mixture of everything would extremely improve shot making. Clusters, frozen rail balls, etc. Please make a demo for this idea?

I can usually get 4-5 stop shots in a row and result to plan b then c but I’ve done this drill on the 7 foot 3 times now
Nice job pal!! Enjoy your workout ⚡
Thanks for watching!! 👌😀
The greatest drill for improving your 8 ball game. Nothing else comes close!
I totally agree!! Thanks for watching and supporting my channel James 👌👌
Great drill !!
I learned this one from King James 25 years ago....great for straight pool also.
Yes definitely!! Thanks for watching Cara 😃😃
My brain hurts thinking about trying this one. Thankss
Great stuff champ, thanks. I’ll do this one this week. Playing in the western Canadian open in a couple weeks!
Good luck man!
Good luck in your tournament !
See you there Jason !
I forget... Do you do private lessons or clinics?
Great drill, thx neils. How much more difficult is it to pull off this drill on a 7ft barbox??
I feel like it would be way more difficult on a small table. Maybe try it with fewer balls.

But...now I'm wondering what's the best 9 ball drill for run outs so I can consistently win 20-0 in the APA?
Your fast🤔😆
Think think think 😄😄😄
I have no idea why this is called the 8 ball pattern drill but it looks like a good drill either way.
Hi there!
Thanks for watching. It's great for 8ball because you practice your position game with short distances between the balls.. like it often is with 8ball.

epic
Wondering what could be a good transition drill, an easier version of this one, so I can practice on my pathetic level.
I had to regroup after the 1st shot (8D
