    You can explain the ghost as being a cut out of Ted but if you watch slowly, when he is dragging his Mom into the room and right after she says "You boys live like pigs", you can see a shotgun ...barrel down... in the window THEN after she picks up Mary and walks by again it's the "ghost" Just thought I would share...the folklore about it is some kid shot himself at that spot and that's why you see both the shotgun and a ghost (aka Ted cut out).

    • @rowanb4395
      @rowanb4395 4 роки тому

      Hmmm it s pretty a massive barrel for a even a double barrel shotgun at approx 5.5 seconds into this clip. It just strange it's one long shot and the cardboard cut out doesn't seem to be in the same position when they pan past that window area the first time (Where you refer to a shotgun). Then it's there on the way back. :D ua-cam.com/video/LPEvJrs-1yM/v-deo.html

    I saw the story of the ghost on CNN in the middle of the night way back in 93. It was my night off, i was sitting there leaning back in my chair with a bowl of cereal on my lap, and the newscaster announced the story. They showed the clip, freeze framed it, blacked out the rest of the screen, and zoomed in on the "ghost". I screamed like a girl, flipped backwards out of my chair, and crashed to the floor doused with milk. I cowered behind the chair as they explained the myth and idnt sleep a wink that night. The next day i bought a copy at walmart and proceeded to show the ghost to everyone i knew. Years later, when the dvd was released i was crushed to see that it very clearly was a cutout standee of ted danson. Oh well. Magnum forever!

    Here's the problem with the explanation though....
    If you watch the scene, it is continuous, without any breaks. It passes over the window the first time following the actors, when the apparition is hardly present, then when it passes back over the window following the actors going back the other way, the apparition is very prominent.
    Now, if it is indeed a cutout poster board of Ted Danson, the that means that someone had to run into the shot while the scene was filming, and place the cutout inside the drapes of the window, then run back off set before Ted Danson and the other actress came back the other way.
    Would the director actually allow that to happen during filming?

    • @31cify
      @31cify 4 роки тому

      No, he's not saying he's right Keefy1106. Look, we've heard no definitive, or in any way convincing explanation from Tom, or anyone else that it's NOT a spook. The explanation we do have is that home video producers felt it was something that warranted attention and as a result, digitally erased the appearance of it from the DVD release because we were told this was on lawful demand from the dead boy's mother. Now we're going by what we've heard from past accounts Keefy1106, we're not making wild assumptions.

      I know, and I'me right with you on that question Randy. As you suggested, someone placed the cutout inside the drapes of the window and then ran back off set? @31cify 4 роки тому

      They removed it from the DVD release on demand from the dead boy's mother I believe. I think she threatened to sue the producers if the removal wasn't carried out because she didn't want the spook of her son being the key point of interest and having domestic sales exploit the situation, which to me seems a little over the fucking top. Then again Joe, it was meant to be a movie about three men and a baby, not a movie about a fucking spook. Now please Joe, don't quote me on that, it's just a reference to early theories which I heard became more reasonably founded. Even now Joe, it's still as fucking spooky as the day it was recorded.

    What most people don't know this, but Tom Selleck was originally cast as Indiana Jones and about to start shooting the movie when his contract and filming schedule for Magnum PI got in the way so CBS wouldn't let him do the movie. Harrison Ford obviously replaced him and the rest is history.

    If they made Three Men and a Bride they would DEFINITELY make a supernatural easter egg 🤣 Like Haunting of Hill House. Man, that would be so creepy in a comedy movie though.

    Well even to this day, there's still people who don't buy the cardboard cutout scenario. I mean, it's not there when they walk over to Mary, and yet it is there as they walk back towards the camera. This is just as spooky as hell because if you keep watching closely, the god damn thing actually moves. Now we're told that this was all done in one take, no edits, so if this is true then how the fuck did this thing just appear between the curtains? Continuity error? Bollocks! They knew it was a fucking spook because they edited it out of the DVD release.

    Set what straight? I have never heard a reasonable explanation for this mysterious kid since the movie was released. He never even gave a solid answer or anything in this interview to debunk it. Use an old back ground? Split screen? Green screen? Did they have that technology in the mid 80s?The movie set has nothing to do with spirits popping up on camera. It could be many things. A boy could have died on the land or a near by property many years ago or someone on the set could have had a spirit follow them from there home. I wish people would stop assuming ghosts are only found in abandoned houses, graveyards or creepy places. Even a great icon like Tom is so quick to rule out the possibility of a ghost being caught on camera simply because the set was made and its not where ghost are seen. Still waiting for an explanation...1984 Runaway was a great movie!

      Some people don't believe in ghosts, me I've never seen one except in pictures in books and online but my mum may have caught a picture of one of her dead cats in her home but it is not definite but that doesn't mean I don't believe in ghosts. I know someone who is a medium. I hope they do exist.
