One of the biggest questions controller players get is about playing claw. Even though I’ve played on controller my entire career, I’ve never played claw, and people always ask me why not. In apex, I play claw when I’m looting. And switch to holding it regularly when I move around and for gunfights.
I fight and everything in claw
That is how i play and im not trying to advance to claw
@@aceford5523 trust me don't, i started looting with claw then slowly i started sliding aswell then it's just like a pit you slowly fall into using it. I stopped as soon as i noticed issues in my index finger and hand in general. Horrible for your health so i stopped and switched to bumper jumper tactical on all fps games

I saw a video where you can use the stream controller settings to bind W to your left stick click to be able to do it so you can hold left or right then click to get that forward motion

Everyone joints are different I’ve used claw many times before and do still from time to time I don’t feel any discomfort but the way your hand is I can see how for others it can be painful or be bad for the “joints”

I cant do claw. I cant even use different fingers for shoulder/trigger buttons....feels too weird.
Also, I cant believe Nick stuck with Apex. All the WZ refugees moved on but Nick still grinding. What a boss.

On cod using a elite series 2 controller was so awesome
I use my bumpers to tap strafe and my L3 and R3 to use tact ability and ping.
Been playin claw for 15 years, no issues at all. I Can actually switch hands and gain strokes though!

Claw makes managing apex easier for me, especially recoil. My hands are fine too. But I can respect a difference in inputs.

Been playing Claw since MW2. Didn't even know it was a thing. Never had any issues in my hands or wrists. Glad I don't have to pay extra money to get buttons on the back of my controller. Lol training wheels.😭
I like the first match when he landed he wasn’t selfish trying to take the gun from his teammate instead he hit the enemy knocking them back who was trying to take the gun, unfortunately there wasn’t a gun inside. I like these little things/plays that can be a whole game changer 100 iq play from nickmercs

Bro I play guitar and I'll tell you one thing playing video games claw is not as physically demanding on your hands than playing a guitar at a high level. So when you see those guys that have been playing fifty years gray hair and still mashing the fret board you will understand how long your fingers are made to last!

Play football when bullets are being thrown at you having the possibility of jamming and breaking your finger
idk, you can get carpal tunnel really easily playing guitar if your wrists aren't straight, hence raising the neck if you can.

Used to play claw but have since stopped due to hand and wrist issues. Really depends on the player though
Better for you anyways. It'll save you more money getting a paddle controller vs medical care for you wrists and fingers
@@niccolodeparmapanini2036 from what I hear you may not be stretching your wrist and hands if you play claw you have to make sure you have complete hand care
My hand used to hurt when clawing for long periods of time on the ps4 controller. I have no problem on the ps5 controller so bigger controller equals more comfort in my case.
mee too but when i switch using xbox series x controller (without kontrolfreek) more comfortable, now i dont play with dualshock4

Try a game where you just full send teams learn to duck dive dip an dodge.. that close combat becomes so much easier if you just throw yourself in

Honestly I play claw but I used to play non claw. and it takes practice to get used to claw but once u get the hang of it it’s very helpful

I'm a big fan of your gameplay. I hear you're a hater of mouse and keyboard. I played controller for most of my life and switched to mouse and keyboard. Both have there challenges although controller has been buffed since Ninja, TFUE and others have dominated on mouse and keyboard. I'm still wondering when there will be balance between the 2. Most comps end with controller players. I wonder why that is? In the end, I'm sure you can't hate on mouse and keyboard with there NERFS?

I wish I could somehow use claw for movement but regularly for shooting because moving feels nice but my aim is off when I play claw

Claw does damage to your joints over time. I played claw for a few yrs but I got a scuf and haven't gone back. It actually hurts now to even position my hand that way. It becomes a real issue if you game for long periods of time. If not then I'd say your fine to do it.

Claw can do insane damage to your joints if the controller is not specifically designed to do so. It gives you CS. And uh @kaitrex I've been gaming for a lil over 26 years now. In that time, playing for long hours NEVER caused any pain in my hands. The controllers of the past had horrible designs in terms of comfort and yet it never caused damage to my hands. Playing claw for just 3 yrs or so I noticed a considerable amount of pain in my joints. It's not normal to play claw controllers were never designed to accommodate that hand position. So like with almost any thing in life, using it the wrong way can cause damage. I'm guessing the ones saying it doesn't cause pain are kids. As a young adult or child your joints aren't going to feel the damages just yet but once you get older you'll understand what you're doing to your hand. Until then enjoy it while it lasts.

There is no evidence to support this claim or the claim @nickmercs is making in this video. You suffered from an overuse injury bro. period. This is akin to saying that someone who has different technique when squatting and deadlifting from the next person is "doing damage" to themselves. Complete broscience BS.
I used to play claw because my right thumb fractured and i was in a cast for a few months. Then i got the paddles on the back this yr. Havent gone back but I catch myself still using claw in certain situations to move faster
i use claw for my right hand but my other hand is normal and that’s the hand that actually has carpal tunnel so my left hand that i don’t use claw w is fucked i don’t understand it and im only 15

PC controller Tap Strafe is simple *NO Claw* if you use Steam.
In STEAM Controller Settings (w/ Auto Sprint):
1. Bind "W" to D-Pad Up (Xbox Controller)
Bind "W" to D-Pad Down (PS)
2. Switch it from Regular Press to Long Press
3. Turn Long Press Delay all the way down
4. Turn Cycle Binding "On"
5. Turn Hold for Turbo "On"
6. Turn Turbo Repeat all the way up.
In-Game: Bind Sprint (Toggle Fire Mode if you don't use Auto Sprint) to D-Pad Up/Down (Xbox/PS)
How to use: Simply hold D-Pad Up/Down while using RS as normal and you'll Tap Strafe until release.
I use Xbox Controller and can create a shareable config minus all my custom deadzoning/anti-deadzoning settings if anyone is interested. Let me know.

You can Tap Strafing on Controller but only on PC. So you need a PC you cant Tap Strafing on Console. So Sad. Its unfair!
