The long period ground swell arrived later than forecasted but it didn't disappoint. Steamer Lane was on fire with a low tide and big swell. A sweet combination.

Yea, Middle Peak was on, but it looks like the A-Team took the day off.

If this mush burger is what is considered “on” then little wonder the A-Team were somewhere else.

That's traditionally how you ride big middle peak. It's just a big drop in, gets people used to riding bigger waves

And don't burden yourself or do justice to the waves by having some skill in riding.

This wave is so mushy you can’t really surf it with a regular shortboard.

Nice to see the dolphins out in the surf. Seal's are a whole 'nother story though. Not that I don't like them but they are nature's Purina shark-chow.

@@baikelai We are guests in their neighborhood when we surf, swim, etc. I don't mind them, they just attract sharks. 🦈 One of which might mistake a neoprene wearing surfer for a scrumptious sea lion and take an investigative bite. Never had any trouble from them but they can get aggressive. Have a good one my friend, surf's up...OUTSIDE!!

I visited there in 1991 then 2003, watched the surf from the car park above.

Because they're not ready for scratching into late take offs yet. Need those floaters to get in the wave early on.
I first saw this vid and saw the pretty, easy looking waves with real mediocre riders and my initial reaction was disdain. But then I thought, "We all have to learn." And instead of kind of dissing them, writing them off, I felt supportive of them. I mean, probably half of them were scared shitless and charged 'em anyway.
