  • Welcome back to the channel after... two years! It has been quite some time. We're both excited and a bit nervous to be posting again. We're starting off with an interview about our time away from youtube with the Alexandrite System, as part of their video series interviewing other systems. You can watch the rest of their interviews here: • System, System
Feel free to leave any questions you have in the comments for consideration in future videos ❤️
    Time stamps of (big) questions:
Why haven't we been on youtube? 00:39
What have we been up to? 6:44
How has our language changed? Why? 12:53
Have there been major changes in your system? 16:48
What are our plans for the channel? 32:06
    Are we happy? 35:48
The old MPD newsletter we mentioned was called "MPD Reaching Out." It was originally published in Canada.
If you also want to tag yourself in the comments, here is the site with "common presentations of MPD" we mention in the video. NOTE: This is outdated information, from 2-3 decades ago. www.nurseslearning.com/course...

Very much the same here, their videos have been such an eye opening welcoming space to realize what we were. Two years ago it was one of the only spaces not in a medical setting that I found solace.

Welcome back! About three or four years ago, when we were first discovering ourselves, you all REALLY helped. And now, all these years later, we're in therapy, we're in a relationship, a handful of important people know about our DID, and we're in college! God, we didn't know if we could do it. Your accommodations video helped so much! We have accommodations and we're getting so much better. Your online space is small but so impactful. Your channel was an amazing resource for us. Thank you.

Oh! Welcome back. You guys were so helpful to us, you gave us lots of words and explanations for our experiences and we felt really validated. It was especially helpful when we were OSDD-1b (now DID due to more extensive trauma building up amnesia walls. Gimme a break! /lh) wish nothing but the best for you.

I didn't know this could happen! : 0 This is similar to our experience but I'd never seen anyone else describe it before. (I suspect we have more amnesiac alters from early childhood but without access/awareness of them, so tbd.)

    YAY YOU'RE BACK!
You're my favorite DID/OSDD channel and your vids helped me a lot to understand that it is possible and valid to have alters without total amnesia
Also THANKS FOR SPEAKING ABOUT NOT KNOWING WHO IS WHO!!! We're currently struggling with not knowing who is who in the system, maybe some of us fused but we're not sure, and this just sent us in a self-doubt spiral of believing we may not be plural

If you could possibly do videos on doing IRL plural activism or community building, that would be wonderful. I want to maybe someday work in local activism myself but have no idea where to start or who to reach out to to help get started on such a thing.

I'm so glad you're interested in updating again! I sincerely hope you don't feel pressure to update "regularly" and I'm excited for you to get back into the groove of things.
Have you thought about starting a chapter system or some sort of guild system for in-person plural communities?
You may be able to post guides/updates/etc about how you are doing (so others can follow) or allow other leaders to build mentor relationships with you once vetted. Excellent opportunity there if you want to add it to your plates! lol

YAYYY I'm so glad you guys are back!! Your videos were extremely helpful in guiding me to figure out what was going on with me, and eventually led to an OSDD diagnosis and an understanding of what's going on in my brain and how to deal with it :) I can't wait to watch the videos you put out, and I think hearing your experiences throughout life will actually be just as educational as "Education with a capital E" videos. I always bring up your channel when providing friends with system resources, and you're absolutely right about your videos still standing.
Looking forward to where you take your channel, I'll definitely be here to watch and learn!!

  • @AB-xy4bc
    @AB-xy4bc Рік тому +11

Definitely relate to not needing to know who is fronting all of the time, cuz for us it's rarely clear. My fears and self-consciousness around it made me deny our plurality for years (after learning about it for the first time thanks to community educators), and have prolonged distress and identity crisis that was unecessary. Still struggling with it, tbh...
There is so much pressure to 'prove' you are as distinct and amnesiac as highly differentiated DID systems, in order to get community support or therapeutic help, and I think it's honestly harming a lot of people / systems and preventing them from being able to heal, where there is trauma. Ignorance around this, and trauma in general, in the field of psychology, has actively impeded my ability to process trauma safely and move forward in life with any outside assistance. (And there are barely any DID specialists, or trauma specialists in general- who seem to know nothing about it, let alone any who take my insurance and who are taking new clients. It's so hard to get appropriate support. People don't understand that the impact being plural has on our life is significant.) It is all on me/us and our own research and self-work.
I am looking forward to awareness around this continuing to change.
Thank you for sharing your experiences, as much as you are comfortable with! :)

So glad you're back! You were pivotal in helping us understand and accept how we worked. We were around for a lot of the drama and not surprised when you stopped posting. We actually were afraid to just comment on videos at a certain point. In fact, we left the whole DID social media space for a couple of years and are just getting back into it. Oh wow, I... honestly didn't realize how much I missed the UA-cam DID community until now. All of the people I was following kind of dropped off the map two years ago, and that was sad but we moved on pretty quickly--but I forgot just how *freeing* it feels to see people openly talking about systems and about the experience of being part of a system. We don't get that in any other way, in our environment.

welcome back! :D it's good to see your channel active again :) your videos were super helpful for us when we were first researching DID and OSDD, and so I'm glad to see you back! the list of "common presentations of MPD" is a fun read, and although it's not the case any more, I'm tagging us as 'secret MPD' because my headmates figured out the whole system thing and chose not to tell me for like two years or something stupid. honestly iconic. 'private MPD', 'co-conscious MPD', and 'isomorphic MPD' are all also relatable though.

Good to see you back. Interesting whT you said about terminology shifts. It makes a lot of sense to me, and I’d like to move toward using plural and multiple more instead of diagnoses. Even though my diagnosis label is D.I.D., your elevation of the differences in OSDD was a comfort to me in my own experiences that dont fit in the small box that people try to put plurality in.

It's so good to see you-all back! Your videos have helped to clarify a lot of things for us. I'm really interested in history so if you did some content on plural history, that would be awesome. I've read about several figures from history (Pythagoras was one ... if I remember right?) who wrote about having 'spirits' inside them who they interacted with, and it made me wonder if they were plural, but just using different terminology for it. Anyways, hi! :D

Im so hapoy youre back. We found out we were plural this summer and havent been able to find a community we feel comfortable really exploring in and really want to make a monthly meet up, just to converse with eachother, in our town. And we would love to set this uo but we also dont know alot of things or where to start or what we should prepare for or expect. If youd ever be willing to make a video on getting started in making ib person plural communities at all, we would appreciate it so much.

I think the Crisses made a resource about this awhile back that should get you started... it should be halfway down this page: kinhost.org/Movement/MeetsAmpMore

I'm glad your back. You offer a very clear and sober perspective on something it seems not many people have a great understanding.

Welcome back! And thank you for sharing some of your research on the history of MPD/DID. I find that stuff super interesting. It's nice to hear other systems talk about how they communicate with each other. We also take about a week to vote on something life-changing. Like even getting a haircut.

Glad yall are back and I totally get not stressing about who is fronting. We've been trying to chill about it lately as well.

I'm so happy to see you're all back! I loved hearing about your perspectives on in-person community. I have no idea where to find things like that, but I would love to see more meetups and workshops and whatnot for multiples. I was surprised to hear that FL is the hotspot!
