This is by far the one song who literally blows my mind in terms of witnessing a singer acting out every word . She was not acting this out , it came from the heart! This was a cry for help xx❤
I used to be obsessed with Lena singing this song and for a long time I could only find clips of her performance from a Channel 4 documentary about her life. It’s incredible to watch it in its entirety…I’m moved to tears. It’s faultless vocally and her performance level is outstanding. What an enormous talent. I should like to visit her grave one day to lay some flowers. My partner taught her singing at Italia Conti back in the 1970’s. I secretly like to think that he played a part in her phenomenal vocal ability but I know really that she was simply gifted with an incredible talent. He has some wonderful memories of her though which are lovely to hear.

Not one person should ever be able to tell you that you were crazy… only the people whom pushed you too far and took your talent as a pay check, when you should have been home safe and enjoying life with your family…
If that wasn’t a heartfelt plea for a little help and understanding I don’t know what is….all the people managing this child’s life should be held accountable for what happened to her … it’s disgusting… and so very manipulative by the people whom profited from her wonderful talent…yet failed to understand her mismanagement of the lifestyle they instructed her to live. . She may as well been trafficked into the life she led… trying to please and keep them all happy whilst inside she seems to have been truly dieing, estranged from those she loved and loved her…??? 😢
So sad, so very sad…. But Lena could have been so happy and fulfilled…if it wasn’t for being famous and not having the correct care about her… hopefully times have changed and we have an insight into what we may think is happiness, but what we truly deserve and desire is appreciation and respect, from those we hold closest to us.
