Are the notes updated? The format looks very similar. I already have the NKJV Full Color Edition and I’m wondering if there is any reason to also get this one.
@@PaulH581 Sorry for the late reply. Honestly I still don't have the Evangelical Study. I reviewed a sample online focusing on the notes and they're practically the same. Yup, I also have the Full Color NKJV Edition 🙂

I like all the colors on the pages.
One thing that I think that is missing in this format is an index to all of the articles and in text maps. The way it is now you just have to see them as your studying or browsing.

I am a NKJ fan and I love archeology. This Bible is not needed, but one I could be persuaded to buy, if the price was right. The only thing missing, for me, is margin space. I have learned to work around this issue, though it's time consuming. I also rely on a good concordance so I might have to take a closer look at this Bible and perhaps put it in my Wish List. Thank you for another great review. :)
I don't use the NKJV as much as I use the ESV, but this review may cause me to purchase this bible for the study notes. Great review as usual RAB!

Randy, Would you say that the Foundation NKJV Study Bible would be in “the middle” of the other two you just showed, concerning notes? I really am trying to narrow it down to Evangelical or Foundations. I need large font. And prefer NKJV. (Red letter, Capitalized pronouns for Deity). 36 GSM sounds great… thx so much for your reviews and time. Oh. Is the leather similar to Single Column wide margin? I have that. Pretty good. Thx!

Why is this called an "evangelical" study Bible and not the Liberty study Bible (like the Baylor study Bible or the like)? Since when does Liberty of all places get to define what is evangelical?
Hi Randy, great review, thanks. I just ordered this. One of the things I like about it is the little sections with archaeological or theological insights. But my concern is that I can't find any index of them. They appear throughout the text but if, for example, I wanted to see a blurb on 'providence' there's no way to tell where it might be. Am I missing it somewhere or does it just not have it? thanks,
Hi Matthew. It only has the topical index in the back. It's helpful, but it doesn't show enough. Providence isn't in the topical index.

Randy, if Liberty University produced the Evangelical Study Bible, what University should produce the Fundamentalist Study Bible?
Good question! I don't know the answer to that, but hopefully someone will.
How would you say that it would influence the the notes that it’s made by Liberty. I Googled and saw that this is a huge Southern Baptist university, but I’m just trying to learn and pick up a little here and there about the US denominations. Like how would one notice difference in these notes from let’s say the Mac Arthur s.b. or the ESV s.b. not to say the Dake. Even - would it be differences in theology/focus from the Holman study bibles (ex KJV full color s.b.)?
I also looked this up. Am in the US and physically handled one of these bibles in the bookstore before doing any real basic research. It's a real nice Bible with apologetics, archeology etc, but I'm still trying to figure out the contributors given there appears to be a bit of scandal around Liberty U.
The notes are probably similar to the MacArthur and the ESV study Bibles. All of them have Calvinist leanings.
I sent the ESV back that I received yesterday. Small print. I won't own a bible with someone's name on it. MacArthur, Tony Evans. The publisher's name on the spine is typical and I'm not referring to that. I tend to have a bias against highly published Christian writers who are still alive, although I'm sure there are a couple of exceptions. To be honest, I wouldn't be able to tell you what Calvanism is. @@pkmcnett5649

How similar is the Evangelical Study Bible to the KJV Study Bible?
From what I can gather, it has the same study notes. The main difference are the amount of pictures present in the NKJV Evangelical Study Bible Vs the KJV Study Bible.

Reflecting God study bible is NIV Study bible, with certain notes modified to weslian view. Must have non-reformed book is Adam Harwood's Christian theology. In Rev reads - channel multible reviews. Hi from Finland !
What is liberty university's slant? I'm unfamiliar with their beliefs
@@Whitedoves78 there are different types of baptist. Free will, Calvinist, independent, etc. Views can be very different concerning eschatology

It isn't a Liberty University Bible, but the general editor is Dr. Edward Hindson from Liberty. He wrote the forward and they gave him a special acknowledgment. The managing editor is Daniel Sloan of Liberty University and many of the contributing editors are from Liberty University. There are a few editors from other universities, but most are from Liberty.
How is the commentary? Or is it more history than commentary?

It seems to me nearly everything published these day is Calvinist. This minority viewpoint has really dominated American Christianity these days. Otherwise I’ve really enjoyed my copy of this Bible.

@@rosieds4996 It does support a Calvinist understanding in the most common passages Calvinist use, but is otherwise pretty good.

This is a great study bible deserving of a goatskin or buffalo binding.
