Only 690 hp? I expected @ least 800-1000 hp. What gives? A 572 will do that on carbs alone.
It would run even better if you tightened the carb stud nuts. I can see one spinning in the rear carb.
I don’t know how old this is, but no numbers for the N/A pulls? It really should have made that power with no blower 🙄🙄🙄🙄! No fueling adjustments, No timing #s or adjustments? No boost numbers, No pulley swaps? Some info should be given! Anyway Don Garlits was the first one to supercharge the late model Hemis wayback around 2003? I think he made a distributor drive to run it on a magneto, because he wasn’t going to use a computer on one of his dragsters from the 50s 😜😜😜😜! He also ran it on 90% nitro! It’s absolutely the best sounding late model Hemi I’ve ever heard 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸! It also was a dead stock 5.7 Hemi! Because nobody had even started to produce parts for them yet! I think you could find it on the internet! But it’s much cooler to see & hear standing next to it 🤪🤪🤪🤪👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻!
I saw and heard it in person a couple of years ago.
Joey Arrington is the son of Buddy Arrington who is the last living illegal moonshiner who drove in Nascar, Joey has a full CNC machine shop in Concord NC
Looks like you have a loose carb hold down nut on the rear carb at the 12:10 point. Actually the whole carb is moving around.
I seen that too.
An 8-71 on on a Gen lll 426 Hemi?!?!?!?!? Should be making well over a 1,000 HP.
No OD% stated that I know of or pully size. but it must have been 6# of boost.
I'm thinking too that the hemi builder didn't want to blow the engine so they may have been playing it safe. They were also only using 93 instead of any race gas. Just a theory!
@@pablotharpalo5685 The main problem with the Gem III is a weak block. Should have used a 'A' motor block as they are far stronger. There is a 'A' motor engine on the website with a Hemi Head, 360, that makes over 600HP, NA. Why make a smaller block??? Dumb!!!
These guys are clowns and have no idea what they’re doing
@@scottsmith31 Very true.
Ini memang dunia ku...sangat senang mengikuti perkembangan otomotif dari negara maju.
Love the machining equipment
Engine Power built a 6.4 hemi to 562 HP with EFI and that was with the truck engine which started with 410 hp compared to the 475 hp scat pack tuned engine. Either they are not putting enough boost or something else Is wrong.
Great vid!!!!!!!! 👍👍👍
Love it guys
Old school 426 Hemi would make 900 to 1,000HP with a 6-71 roots blower.
426 Hemi could make 900 to 1000HP unblown!!!
Those motors were just pure beasts
I’m suspecting you guys are being cautious with that investment.
Expecting a little more ponies with that blower and dual carb setup.
I agree with a lot of commenters it waste of time put a factory blower on it
Differently need to get fuel injection. And I would love to see the hp Dyno number without the super charger. Differently an old episode they didn't mention the 6.4 liter.
this episode is awesome to see
They need todo a redo. 600hp, that's like 125hp more than a stock 392...wtf went wrong
My cam, headers, ported heads SBE 392 makes 536/494 to the tire. They need to add timing and turn it up. Prolly only 6psi of boost.
@@dalemllns you have an 8-71...why do 6lbs of boost?
You can 500hp out of a 5.7 without that 8-71 blower
Dang I was really expecting 7-800 horsepower I just watched a video before this where a guy took a junkyard 5.7 done no internal work... Changed the Cam, ported heads, four barrel fuel injection and a supercharger belt driven not a root style...wasn't even pushing it that hard and was producing 677 horsepower...🤔🤔🤔🤦
Good luck
Carburetors. How quaint. Two barely controlled gas leaks.
11:06 Lol. It was so consistent it screwed up the video.
I think you guys did something wrong somewhere, 600 hp?
1800cfm for 600hp? lol
Ya my buddy's 512 stroker is making 750 hp with 1050 all motor 🤣
That motor was has weak has tissue paper.
My lawn mower pulling 55horses. Then 35 shot. Of oh shit juice runs harder than this blower motor junk
@@Ratridez 392 vs 572 yea think about that 😂 plus pump gas no e85 no thing out of a Carburetor an a old ass blower just stop y’all are dumb af
A bit rich id say
This episode is over 10yrs old
May as well have just swapped a Hellcat motor into that Dart.
Hellcats didn't exist when this was built
😮🍿
I was expecting way more than 600. Kinda disappointed tbh
Can You give me links please ?
6 PSI with carbs and no real spark curve, just pull the whole thing back like with a distributor. An example of what not to do, a waste of a built 426 long block.......
No intercooler? not trolling but dont these old style blowers super heat the air?
That’s why there carbureted the fuel cools the IAT and lubricates the Teflon lobes. Other then that high octane to resist detonation.
@@LEGOCAMARO ok cool, i was worried, ive always seen these with a a sandwiched water to air intercooler.
Adopter plate sucks it’s way to tall I see someone will to develop adapter plates that bot on directly on the head and aren’t unnecessary big like that one an basic plate that bots on
All that and it only makes 600 hp? Something is wrong here.
well the answer was withn the 12 seconds at the start,,,
loose carburetor flange bolt on the rear carburetor at you can see it spinning off the stud ua-cam.com/video/w9WIl1Q5Ee4/v-deo.html
Man this is old
???????
Those are terrible numbers, you can bolt a supercharger on a pentastar and get those same numbers wtf
LOL. I hate when they cover up an engine with an obvious problem.
Well it's all for charity so what are you going to do?
Y'all don't know crap about mopar engines.
“Let’s marry the most expensive, inefficient blower on a motor that can handle way more boost than it can put out, and call it cool” this show is stupid AF
All that shit for 600hp??? Wuuuut
Sum ting wong no good 👎
🤣🤣🤣🤣 why bother?
Why why why always with the carputaters😒😒
Cheep and quick and looks better on a dyno than efi...but less useful for day to day
@@cromBumny honestly it makes the information useless
finally some manly content! tired of all the soy latte drinking, betamale ford and chevy builds.
that pile of crap couldn't make at least 1000 HP ???
weak sauce
Really because of all the dumb comments yours manages to be the worst. It's a simple mater of mathematics and volumetric efficiency equations. The motor should produce 1000 to 1200 with timing and a raise in boost with a smaller blower pulley
