This speaker is outstanding. Don't listen to reddit people in audiophile, they give prejudiced answers to everything without reading any reviews or trying the product.
I owned this pair of speaker. bought it with my own money, I was sceptics at first, 'till I gave it a try at the local store that sell this beast, the storekeeper were kinda cool that I spent almost 15mins trying out the display unit via Bluetooth connection. Whatever this guy is telling you is true, it's really impressive for a speaker this size. Been using it for around 8 months now & it still rocks! Recommended! Worth every pennies spent on it
All Edifier models sound great. They are probably the best bang for the buck in the market. I have very high end speakers and can "stand" to listen to something on the Edifiers without major problems.
These are great speakers. Clear, detail and nice range of mids and highs. Add a subwoofer and you get a nice 2.1 system. And no static and hissing you get on some powered speakers or even amplified speakers. The EQ really works when i need to switch between movies, music and gaming. But seriously adding the Edifier T5 subwoofer made it even a bigger upgrade, especially in movies when the bass is needed.

Thank you for acknowledging the awful power on and off sounds the speakers make. It's unfortunate that it can't be disabled and that the company thought it was a good "feature" in the first place. I had the speakers sitting in boxes for longer than I've used them because I couldn't stand the sounds. Finally decided to break them out again and tolerate it because they work so well.
I like that they're hardwired to each other, as the low quality aux cable or mini/micro USB cable that typically makes this connection are prone to breaking and are often hard wired on one side anyways.
The power on/off sounds are awful. If I left these on all the time does that stop these sounds playing or does it do it when it connects (ie. when PC is turned on)?
I used to have the Edifier s730 system, it was the most fun sound system i've ever owned but then again a subwoofer with a couple 13" woofers would be fun!

To be clear, referencing your comment at 3:31, there's nothing wrong with a flat eq profile when gaming. The advantage of "gaming" speakers is their focus on imaging/soundstage.
I think you are reading a bit much into that. I like a flat profile for some things but it’s true that for gaming and depending on your speakers profile that adding a bit of colour can give them more impact. You aren’t focusing so much on a bit of ‘over colorisation’ when gaming rather than listening to a 24 bit Qobuz flac for instance when you want that acoustic guitar more ‘pure’.
Those non-detachable cables are a pure crime. As if it's 2003 or something... I strongly suggest you give the Chinese warehouses a well-deserved rest and switch to reviewing Central European manufacturers' products for a couple of weeks. You won't be disappointed.
The non detachable cable is kinda a gamebreaker....if it would atleast be detachable on one of the speakers, but like this its extrmely hard to get proper cable management

@@Freestyleny They are about the biggest I'd want on my desk, with my current setup, but they get the job done, when I'm not using headphones. They produce nice clean sound, but I'll defiantly be adding a sub in the future.
Wahhh! My speaker tells me what mode it's in instead of adding an LCD display and charging $50 more. And I wouldn't call this thing RGB - I'd say it just has accent lighting that can be slightly customized. It's not overly flashy or excessive and doesn't necessitate the installation of yet another useless app just to change it from a stock setting.
They would be a hard sell for me to recommend at £100+.. you can buy some amazing secondhand floor standing speakers + amp combo for that on local adverts or even some brand new mini monitors/ bluetooth bookshelf speakers. If they were £50 then it's competition for the typical Logitech/ creative 2.0 sets but I just think it's unrealistic being that highly priced. I guess someone who wants everything RGB will buy them though 😂
