Steering is steering sensitivity or how fast the car turns in
Handling is oversteer or understeer. How much your car turns in at full lock
Down force is down force. How much your car is pressed into the ground by the air passing over.
    Ride height is self explanatory.
Supercharger is boost. Full+ side is more power in the top end or higher rpm range and full- is more power on the low end or low rpm side.

Okay thank you for your honest opinion. I am thinking of making a better explained video in the future when I do understand the mechanics of the game more, because I am still learning it the more I progress. Still, appreciate the honesty, don't appreciate the negativity but oh well, happens everyday from many others. Some just can't appreciate another person putting their time and effort into making a video, but I'm not the one to judge, its all a learning experience for me! :)

@@jakecars93 You don't have to be sorry, I understand. This is like my beta video, when I made it just for one youtuber who never knew how to tune at all, so I just gave this as a "vid for dummies" type, but I am playing the game now and tryna understand more of how it works in the game, which is pretty different from IRL physics so it might be harder to understand in that case.
I am not too much of a scientific car person myself, I just try to be helpful xD

You forgot to point out that Ride Height also affects the car's grip. Lower ride height gives you more grip on tarmac road making you faster, but will slow you down if you take offroad shortcuts, higher ride height gives the opposite.

steering affects how much your steering reacts. the more it is on the right side, you will easily overdo it. it is better to have it o - 3 or even -4 or -5. handling is the same. -4 handling and your car becomes more stable.

Noticed that rear brakes performs the best in overall wide turns and no so demanding steering test. On the other side, front brakes gave me the sensation that the ride would eventually perform better while entering a sharp turn, however depending on the grip, steering and probably all the other performance settings, the car may slide off the road and hit a wall if not finely tuned.
So, my bet is that if you are looking for a sweet spot with brakes, you have to compensate the loosen or gripping (idk if it's a word) with the other parameters given by the performance tunning.
    Nice explanation btw.

it's funny how they work, some settings make the car slower but handle better, or faster but not turn at all, steering makes the response of the steering wheel faster, if it is on the "+" side it increases the response of the steering wheel, if it is on the "-" side, the response takes a little longer, but this has a catch, because the analog of the joystick or the steering wheel, has several sensitivities, not like the keyboard, for example if you want to go right on a joystick or valente you can go little by little, on the other hand the keyboard only has the maximum turn, not the middle ground, steering gives more grip in curves "+" your car will have more grip and better handling, otherwise "-", your car will have less grip and will skid more, the bad thing about increasing it is although you have good handling by having more grip, the car at the minimum turn begins to lose a lot of speed, I never really understood the brakes this video helped me understand better thanks for that, I always leave it stock because I don't know how it works, the rigt height is the suspension, higher or lower, higher makes the car go further off the asphalt, but makes the car turn over at the slightest sudden braking, if you brake and turn, if the car goes close to the asphalt you will have better handling, but if the track has many climbs and descents, potholes or you go up the sidewalk accidentally you lose a lot of speed, aerodynamics makes the car lighter or heavier, if you lower it, the car will be lighter, but it makes the car drift and any imperfection of the asphalt makes the car go "jumping", if you increase it the car will have more grip on the asphalt, but it reduces its maximum speed as the car is heavier, nitro is well explained, and the turbo / supercharger in this game, if you put it in negative the car will have more torque, but less final power, otherwise if you increase it you will have more final power but less torque, but this has a catch, it will be considered few rpm below 4.5 rpm and high are considered 6 rpm +, but Cars like the Mustang, Pontiac, CLK 500, have low rpm between gears, however an RX-7 or RX8 or Gallardo, can reach up to 9rpm, before changing gear, that is why for cars with a lot of torque and low rpm it is not advisable to lower the bar but rather increase it, since they already have good acceleration, otherwise it would be the other cars that reach up to 7rpm, but in each gear it falls to 4 or 5rpm, here it is advisable to lower the bar. In the end it is all about trying and let everyone have fun with what they like the most. Greetings. edit, aerodinamic can activate with body kit only, if u no want install spoiler.

The ocean must've been that beautiful.
I did a demo on the ocean since you can't really have the most optimized test on any road in the game, with traffic RNG and speedbumps that could ruin the process the most of anything. Free roam traffic is crazy stupid in the game and most times the road's flooded with trailer trucks.

A little bit of correction :
Setting you're suspensions to low can also increase your handling capabilities because it stiffens the springs and lower the center of gravity witch is important if you don't want to roll over and aerodynamic you can tune aerodynamics without a spoiler you can just buy bodykits and tune your Aero and in real life if you want to had a Max down force you need to had an Aero body kit and spoilers but you just need bodykits if you don't wanna put BIG WANG on your Lamborghini or carrera GT

super/turbocharger tuning actually doesnt affect top speed at all, the only difference is does it give torque (acceleration) on high engine rpm(plus side) more, or on more wide spectrum of engine rpm(minus)
tradeoff is the amount of acceleration given by super/turbocharger, the more wider the spectrum of rpm that triggers turbo is - the less acceleration turbo will give
you can see how much impact turbo has on your acceleration by looking at boost sensor under your speedometer, on the minus side of tuning this impact on its maximum will be much less no matter what engine rpm is, but it will trigger earlier
in the reality of this game - minus tuning is almost useless because engine rpm is never low enough(except maybe for the literally first half a second of race start) to not trigger turbo even on extreme plus tuning, even in long corners engine rpm is actually high because of lower gear
to lose so much of acceleration for the sake of less than 5% of difference in time when turbo is active - cant see a benefit
you can test it for supercharger too, but supercharger has even less impact than turbo, so would the difference

I suppose the game has hidden mechanics, but I noticed that changing the body kit affects the car's steering a little bit.
With wider kits the car has less steering, but is more stable at high speeds, especially with RWD cars.

    • @kingvector1198
      @kingvector1198  Рік тому +2

I would suppose that makes sense in a way. Since the tires are wider so it's like tryna steer a ruler length wise compared to width-wise, yknow? The wider it is, the more space itll take in a sense, so I guess there's that. I'm not 100% sure about anything else, but if that is true for a game in 2005, then thats interesting indeed.
I personally aint gonna do mechanics studying for now, I just give the general idea for those who need some guide to how certain things work when tuning the vehicles.

Where putting all the tunes to all -5 would make your car weigh less and take off faster, have better acceleration, and therefore achieve pretty fast speed veryyyy quickly unlike in other races.

I have went underworld in free roam since there is minimum obstruction with me as the driver and any obstacle, since doing it anywhere on a road with many factors including traffic RNG, walls, driver's capability, and other reasons that it wouldn't make any tests accurate.

@@deathcold_longplaysua4846 For aerodynamics, nitro, and turbo/supercharger?
Aerodynamics is how magnetic you want your car to stick to the ground, increasing its aerodynamics to + gives it more top speed + handling and therefore more acceleration since the aerodynamics cut is now going fully over the car itself.
Nitro is if you want more duration - or more power +.
Turbo/supercharger varies between cars imo. I prefer to think that the + gives more power which consumes raw engine power and would rely on higher revs, and more - gives more engine balance between power and torque, but it varies between vehicles in the game.

These have made using the Cadillac CTS a boatload of fun with how much the AI cheeses out and lets you win in it with only Handling Upgrades (a recent discovery!) 🤣
Just grinding up enough Cash to buy and upgrade both the 9 Blacklist cars I won via Pinkslips & the 5 (including the CTS) I bought over the course of my Career Mode!
    Between…
    - the Chevy Cobalt SS I started with (great all-rounder that tunes well for any situation)
    - the Audi A3 (boaty but jumps from the line; underrated car nobody talks about!)
    - Cadillac CTS (Boat with jets on its bodywork to turn hard and ridiculously fast; excellent for Drag Racing & Pursuits!)
    - Porsche 911 Turbo (Cobalt 2.0; lighter and more tuneable but less “Fun”)
    - Subaru Impreza WRX STI (A better Audi TT/A3/A4 that’s lighter BUT not so fun to drive around; needs work)
    - #6 will definitely be the Vauxhall Monaro VXR (needs more love; will tune this into a fine Ricer or die trying!)
    - #7 will either be the Lamborghini Gallardo, Aston Martin DB9, or the Ford GT
    - #8 through #10 will definitely be the Renault Clio V6 (excellent car; easiest to tune), the Mazda RX-7 (since no Blacklist racer uses it; best Tuner in the game that isn’t the RX-8 or Renault Clio), and lastly…the Fiat Punto (good for lowering difficulty levels in the last 3 Blacklist Tiers! Also, amazing when fully upgraded!)
    …and the Blacklist racer cars…
I’m in NO SHORTAGE of cars to use! Plus, it just means extra fun to be had getting a feel for them on the eventual 1 Car Career playthroughs I’m going to do after this one…

Bro read the help by pressing circle instead of making the life hard haha😂 and watch your boost gauge when driving a turbo equiped car it shows you when the boost hit and loose his pressure👍🏻
Exemple of my mid-drift setting for Mazda RX-8 :
    Steering : +1
    Handling : +2
    Brakes - 1
    Ride Height -1
    Aerodynamics 0
    Turbo +1
Keep in mind that settings can be different between cars, for exemple the mazda rx8 has a basic drifty handling so that's why I reduced my ride height just to -1 to compensate my mid-drift settings so the car still have a good handling if I want to escape or play with cops !
Edit : also in my exemple, Turbo is set to gives more power in high rpm's because i wanted to have more power when im in drifting at a moderate speed, but, if want to drift at a higher speed I'll have to set the turbo to -1 or lower cuz the handling phisic in this game is like higher speed you starts drifting, lower rpm's the engine will go... so on the mazda RX8 that go over 9k rpm you have larger boost utilisation, this way the engine gives you a better range of power possibilities in mid-rpm.

Considering this game was not built around drift mechanics (which was later introduced into Carbon from Underground.. no idea why they never kept the concept into Most Wanted 05), it may be hard to make a drift build.
Try playing around with giving your car negative handling, positive steering, and play around with the brakes to see how hard the car slides into one direction.
You may also not wanna buy the biggest best performance upgrades like tires since the later upgrades gives more traction control which can go against drifting. Try these basic steps and see how it goes!

No. You won't have any steering. For me honestly I put 1 + in steering. 2 - in handling. - in ride height. - 3 in aero left brakes alone. For all driving purposes. Racing. Etc. makes the car swing it's rear out more. While maintaining grip. Makes the car achieve greater turning ability. Buuut... it makes the car less accurate... meaning it's gonna be alittle unpredictable. But once you learn how to control your mini drifts into turns you can really make any car turn good. Nitrous left alone unless your doing trap speed than all the way to plus, and supercharger/turbo. Depends on what race. Highway? Turn that baby up to plus. A lot of turns? And overall short? Minus. Basically the lower you have it. The faster it engages in lower rpm but less power up on the higher rpm. Benefits cars with awd greatly. The higher you have it the harder the car pulls in higher rpm. Meaning highway races are good for this.
Drag racing now you want aero and steering and handle in the negative. Nitrous max in the plus and supercharger or turbo in the middle or in plus.
That's my opinion tho.. you might find it different.

I want high grip and acceleration for my murciélago any setup suggestions ?

For high grip, You can adjust your handling towards the plus side (and also adjust steering to meet your standards during certain races that may require some steering), and you can increase your downforce via aerodynamics & ride height to give your car more acceleration/top speed (which can be a downfall if you run over numerous bumps, it can chop your speed per every bump since it will act like a land magnet the harder the car is against the ground). Otherwise everything else will run performance wise off the purchases you make in the auto shops. (Brakes may slow your car just a tad, however will give you more handling in the process. Also avoid giving the exotic car any roof or hood scoops as it could slow the car down a few miles, it was something I was taught a while ago.)

so which settings do u recommend i got a evo

    • @kingvector1198

I'd recommend the first settings be your drive style, depending if you want more or less of a sharper turn, and more grip on the road, or not.
Brakes, I'd recommend switching it to the bias side of the car's drive power (either rear wheel drive or front wheel drive, i forgot what the evo had), and afterward I'd put plus aero for more weight against the road which also means more top speed, ride height id put towards negative since while also respecting aero's, there will be less air picking up under the car which means more top speed, nitro would depend how aggressive/reliant you are on it (if you are, id put it more negative, where it makes it more duration while still giving some boost), and turbo I would mostly put towards plus, but if you find yourself under-revving the vehicle, it would also be good to have it in the lower tunes.
Again im giving this info cuz it all depends on how you drive (everyone's is different) and how well you handle the vehicle. Hope it helps! :)

thanks for ur advice but i spent some time on it and ye i found my sweet spot. Even though my Evo is powerful earl sweated me out lmao in that 2nd sprint

@@cdsnpi Earl's the worst blacklist racer. I call him the "voodoo magic" racer because even if you think you're winning, he will come out of no where with more acceleration than any other racer out there. He's broken asf, you can't make one mistake in that race; cant hit a wall, a car, any obstacle, minimum!
At least you got a sweet spot for your evo! Trust me, his "skill" not even his car, is better than anyone's. I have no idea why though, hes a special racer.

ye i saw the race video once and drove slow to read the map and beat him in 1 real try. And ye lmao that map reading race wasn't intentional actually there was some bug which made me 2nd even though I was 1st so i just took it to read the race. And u say he was the toughest so i guess all other race would be easier than this... =)

@@cdsnpi I wouldn't say race, id more say blacklist racer. Everyone else after 9 is fairly straight forward, JV #4 is super easy, webster #5 you could get lucky that he spins out every time, really the next worry should be Ronnie #3, and even then he has a chance to bug because he tries taking his own shortcut on his circuits, which of course fails because he drives into walls cuz his pathing is screwed up in a specific intersection just next to the ports. You should be fine though!!
