No matter what I am a loyal fan. Negative attitudes and horrible criticism for our Women's team is just sad and so sexist. Ladies keep going and I can't wait for the next game. Watching you ladies play brings me much joy, so thank you.

*And I continue stating that Mallory Pugh-Swanson's injury was intentional with a view to eliminating her from participating in the World Cup. Just see who injured her and where and for whom this Irish player plays. Do you think I was born yesterday?*

It wasn't the only thing trying to keep USA out. Rose Lavelle getting back to back yellows.
In an interview, the female GM admitted she influenced Vlatko on who he could take to the Cup. Hmmm, Rapinoe... Who could barely get up the sideline against Del Fava in the NWSL tourney. Morgan... Who had less goals than Hatch. O'Hara who looked slow against players in the NWSL. Mewis who barely scores. Sullivan that looks tired and slow on the pitch. These were not quality players to take. How about a coach that did very little to make the team better. How about having USA face 3 teams in the top 7 to have them lose in those friendlies. FIFA, who's corruption has been shown, didn't want 3 straight Cup wins. They got their European champion so they can drive dollars over there. We were designed to lose. And now we'll have to rebuild again. Just my opinions.

Sauerbrunn should stay home as old generation. Heath the same with Press. Renewal from top to bottom.

No matter what the USA does, the other countries will not stand still. They are all getting stronger. The time of US dominance in women's football is probably over. The USA's big advantage is the potential number of female players, so that is where they should put their money and efforts.

I’d like to see only Horan and Williams come back- the other older players - thanks you so much for all you’ve done for women’s football (soccer) around the world- you’ll never be forgotten!

No and no. Why? They'll be even older. They did very little to exert dominance.. Horan did try, but her efforts could only carry us so far.
Next rebuild needs to be around Lavelle, Smith and Pugh. All other players under 26. If they hope to beat teams like Spain, England and Colombia, they'll have to get faster, fitter, more technically astute, and more dynamic on the pitch.
I'm not sure Rodman gives them anything spectacular yet. She was a bust for me. More hype than actual results.
      Players I would consider:
Thompson, Shaw, Moultrie, Ricketts, Weaver, McCaskill, Mace, Coffey, Del Fava, Macario and Hatch.
But every one of them have to get use to one touch passing and using special moves. They'll need a new formation. No old guard. None except Lavelle and Pugh. Sauerbrunn is too slow. Same with the rest.

@@catman518 I agree! We need to remember that for some younger players, this was the first world cup. And many played very well, despite not winning the tournament! So, 4 years from now, if these younger players work better and take advantage of the experience of some veterans, we will make a great new team!

Yes but until they evolve there game from the run and shoot style and become more technical, having speed alone isn’t going as they get older. It didn’t at all this last wotld cup

This article perfectly describes the current failing mentality of our program. I am happy that players are recovering but the whole assumption that they will just be able to cruise back onto the roster is BS. All of these players should have to prove that they have fully recovered, and in the meantime the whomever is now running this team should be burning up the phone lines calling replacements into camp and giving them caps, instead of holding spots open. Sports are a "what have you done for me lately" business and the people who run the federation can't grasp that then they should go work for the post office.

Megan, coming from a coach, please just give 100% while you are on the field and just play the game and leave all the rest behind. I didn't care much for you and never saw you play until TUBI started playing all the old World cup games from 2016 and 19. The team could use your leadership and focus on the game, not the rest. You can get back to that when you're playing days are over. When I was watching Mia H days I was also taking my Advanced National Course and what I loved about those teams were when one scored , they all came charging together to celebrate. I wanted to be an assistant coach on that team. Now, more and more, after scoring you run away from your team and make them catch you. (Not just you) I hope you do win, you are a much better player than I was guessing before watching. Good luck, GO USA. I'm afraid if you don't show by example giving 100% and don't go whining over calls and looking like the player that should retire, you will lead the team to a defeat. Don't let it happen. There are some new and exciting players on your team that can take a Messi run at defenders directly to goal, get them the ball.
I know it's exciting to blast the ball into the back of the net, A shot is just a pass past the goalkeeper. Put the ball on net and away from the sweeper, keeper line. Each of you owe 100 pushups for every shot into outer space and 50 practice shots of the same type. GO USA
For example Rodman's shot had a back spin on it and went sailing. The ball should be a PASS, PAST THE GOALKEEPER with a side spin, top spin and not a backspin. Been watching some older films on UA-cam.
To the coach and the rest of the USWNT - Please don't let Megan R dictate this game in her own selfish direction. She said it's ok for Trans to join your team and take positions away from women. If Trans have enough interest then they can have their own league. She can do that on her own time after her playing days are over.
To the veterans, show by example and remember you have some great young players with great skills. It doesn't matter who scores, as long as you do. A shot on goal is just a pass past the goalkeeper. It can't go through a player and if it's not there then fake shot, fake shot, fake shot until it is there. A defender has no choice but to react to a fake shot. It will take them off balance and open a lane for you.
And to all defenders and mids - Always know where their goalkeeper is. Assuming you have practiced, take the long drive once in a while. It will keep them closer to their net and make it harder to support their defenders.
Coach - would love to help you in the future - And have a chat with M.R. to stop with the whining on every call and play like Messi.
    US Soccer -
    Some good things
The game is now in the Messi era - Must be able to take on 1st and 2nd defender to collapse their defense. The young ones on this team are getting better at this.
The mixing of the veterans and new players did not work- The coach must take the talents of his player and insert those into a system that takes advantage.
How many balls were sent forward with forwards running forward and was intercepted?
Sweden goalkeeper we heard so much about….she did play very well, but most of her saves were right at her.
I would like to help with the technical skills that go with the direction of the head coach. Including most basic skills like "You can't shoot through a defensive player, but you can keep faking until a line does open. The defense has no choice but to react to the fake shot. Also my pet peeve, "Don't shoot at the sweeper/keeper line" You don't have to see, where they are, because you already know. And a shot is just a pass past the GK. I know it happens but the players sometimes think they need to blast it into the back of the net.
Morgan is America's sweetheart but her way of playing is Ronaldo and that doesn't work well in a Messi era. She sits and runs for a long ball and 98% are intercepted. Players today must be able to confidently take on a defender or two and collapse their defense
All of tactics work is a waste if those players are not technical sound.

Press, Heath, and Sauerbraunn are finished. You need to stick a fork in to that trio because they are done. It is clearly time to move on from these nags.
While Alex Morgan has some life left, it's time to put that horse out to pasture. She will be 38 years old for the 2027 World Cup. Let's face it, 38 year old center/forwards don't have enough life in the legs to compete.
Alyssa Naeher has performed well but it is time to get someone new in front of the net. Reflexes are OK at 35 but I'm concerned will she have the necessary quickness at 39? Better to say bye bye now and plan for the future.
Sam Mewis is a wild card. She doesn't have the mileage the others have, but she has been injured and out of action for a long, long time. Right now it is questionable how much she can contribute in 2024 let alone 2027. She will be 34 in 2027 and my gut says it it best to bid her au revoir before she embarrasses herself by trying to make the 2027 squad.
Jule Ertz has done the right thing and realizes that it is over as a player and it's time to move on. She won't be in the mix for 2027
Take the hit and wish these fine athletes (as well as Rapinoe and O'Hara) goodbye and move on to some youth.

Personally I would not call up any player still recovering from injury until they have played several 90 minute games to convince me that they are 100%. People keep saying we need speed. If by you look at the top. European national teams, Spain, England etc they all head great passing games players from those team are very technical we are not we seem to like speed minus the technical aspect look at the players we have Smith fast but doesn’t pass much Swanson much the same Williams is far but lacks technicals passing being one of😊 the most obvious Rodman plays well for her club team but internationally there still ? Marks fir me. Both Smith and Swanson would not be my future wingers if they are unwilling to incorporate passing, one touch passes and above a team mentality approach to scoring and not just get the ball and run at goal. We need wingers that can combine with the fullbacks to add width in there attacks something that was vey much lacking in the yYSWNT games. Can😊 those 2 be taught a different style of play other than the run and shoot. As for Macario, 😢She isn’t fast

The generation of Hamm, Akers and Scurry among others laid down the groundwork for future USWNTs that were the best in the world when no one cared about Women’s Football.
Slowly times are changing. Look what Spain was able to do in spite of all the inner problems in their federation and their squad. Sweden didn’t play their best match but still beat the USWNT on penalties. There were at least 5 teams at this last world cup who would have easily beaten the USWNT with minimal effort. The world has caught up. There is more funding for player development abroad - that is clearly above the American system. The USWNT weren’t the best in the world because of their talent. They were the best in the world because the American system worked when no one cared about women’s football abroad.
