Yes, one shot on the MV. There is a behind the scenes - it was raining and cold. These guys are so amazing. Interesting facts you pointed out - never knew about the reverse order of the notes, and the rappers going in reverse. J-Hope and Suga really work well together many times. Thanks much! I enjoyed this.
Ah yes first exposure to Yoongi's legendary tongue technology. He's that good! Honestly this duo is a great one and I loved your music theory. It's always so interesting to see your reactions and your knowledge!
Wow, great catches with the reverses in notes and the order of rappers in the two songs, Andrew. I hadn't noticed that! And about Suga's rap speed in "I'm Fine", absolutely! Cypher Pt. 2 and Agust D (the track) are typically contenders for Yoongi's most rapid raps, but I still can't get my head around his fast flow in I'm Fine. 😮 Have a nice day!
@@magdalenagabrowska8169 I was amazed to see how well he rapped his part in Dis-ease live - seems to require so much breath control and composure in the middle of high adrenaline!
The levels of complexity they will go to create things like the duality between Save Me and Im Fine with the lyrics, the chords you founds how the image works in the MV. This is why even a song that sounds simple like Save Me will take you down a rabbit hole. And then you get the vocal talent plus rap talent like how fast Suga raps and RMs flow it’s just 7 insanely talented but also who care about art and hidden Easter eggs. And yes Sugas fast flow does things to us … no matter how many songs we see it in. My favorite songs that work together are the whole Persona/Shadow/Ego solos of the rapline. There are lyrical question answers (One asks a question in one song that’s answered in another) among the three songs.
Oh that's so cool about Persona/Shadow/Ego! I'm excited to hear those in the future!! And I agree about how complex all of their music is, it's truly genius
the boy meets _ at the end of the save me mv was basically a teaser for the future drop of their track "boy meets evil" (a j-hope solo song and the intro to their album *wings* , the music video for is it amazing and the song is so so good, hobi is too talented)
i just wanna say how much i LOVE watching u explain any music theory part like it’s such an interesting aspect of their music that i definitely wanna learn more about (especially since they’re directly involved in producing it themselves) you’re officially my favorite reactor on this app hope u have an amazing day/night
Andrew: "Wow, He rapped that so fast" ARMY's: Heck Yah, That's Agust D's (Suga's solo stage name) Tongue Technology 😎 I really love your breakdowns. And J Hope and Suga make an awesome duo. They actually do some performances together, and their subunit is called SOPE-ME. (SOPE is a combination of *S* UGA and J H *OPE)*
I'm Fine has very powerful lyrics. It helped me during my darkest moments. The choreo is also one of the best. The moves adds to the meanings in the song. The song is about the self but BTS are seen helping each other. In other words, stressing that a good mental health start with our own positive thinking but no man is an island and support by others is important too. Don't try to walk alone.
- You should watch the Bangtan Bomb about the filming of Save Me. How they have to run around the camera while freezing their butts off in a thunderstorm but still wanting another shot for perfection. - That’s not Suga rapping fast believe it or not. 😁 You should try some of their more hardcore rap songs like Cyphers 1-4 (especially no 2) or their solo projects: Suga (=Agust D) - Agust D RM - Joke J-Hope - 1 Verse - Glad you caught all the "mirroring", just like the ambigram. Their attention to detail is just unbelievable. - If you look at the choreography you'll notice that Save Me is done solely as individual dancing where as in I'm Fine they play off of each other more and more, pulling each other up and supporting each other. Also, they end Save Me fallen to the ground but standing up together in I'm Fine. It's such a cool contrast. - If you get a chance to go to their concert you should definitely learn the general fanchant so you can scream along. 😂 It's their real names + BTS in this order (leader and then by age): Kim Namjoon Kim Seokjin Min Yoongi Jung Hoseok Park Jimin Kim Taehyung Jeon Jungkook BTS Cool breakdown as always...and thank you for feeding the guys. 😂 💜😎👍💜
Oh that's awesome! I really want to check out the filming of the video and all of the rap stuff now, especially if that's not even his fast rapping 🤯 And that's so cool with the choreography! I definitely didn't catch that 😂
@@AndrewBergSax If you watch the shooting sketch for Save Me, use the one from Bangtan Subs, because the one from BangtanTV is not subbed. They finally started adding subs to all their content a couple of years ago, but before that, we relied on Bangtan Subs for access.
i love yoongi's part in i'm fine! literally the best part. his verses are always the cherry on top in bts songs😄 this is also not the fastest among yoongi's rap. You have to react to "Agust D" and "Cypher pt2" 🔥 Suga is another level of rapper!
Its not just cherry on top!!! Stop dismishing his part!!! He is literally given so less lines but always managed to caught people attention, its not just cherry on top!!!
A fun fact about the last pose of I'm fine...at the end of the performance all the members are positioned in one direction, except for rm, the leader, who is looking at his members🥺💜🥺
Oh you definitely need to watch the behind the scenes/making of the Save Me MV to see how they did the single-shot work!!! And LMAO @ your reaction to Yoongi rapping - every ARMY knows that feeling of being mind-blown. 🤣
@@AndrewBergSax I think you you did the right thing watching the videos first - but you are going to *love* the mv shooting video! I'll post it in reply:

As soon as the video started and you went 'he rapped that so fast!' I knew IMMEDIATELY you were talking about Suga in I'm Fine. He's my favorite part of I'm Fine. But yeah, thank you for reacting to both! The synth being reversed during RM's part finally solves with that part was kind of familiar to me, too, and I really appreciate it, it's so cool!!!!
Wow 14:37! My mind is blown! Thanks for finding it out that the notes are also reversed. It’s been almost 2 years that I’m down in this rabbit hole and I’m still learning new things every day. Thank you for that! It’s confirmed once again BTS is absolutely genius in every way possible!
That backwards synth part is so cool. Thank you so much for catching this and demonstrating it so clearly (both visually and with the audio)- I've listened to these songs so many times and I had no idea! Always something new to discover.
Yoongi is one of 10 fastest rapper in south Korea, 9.38 syllables per second in average but in one radio interview he rap abt 11.4 syllables per second.
I absolutely love watching the ARMYfication of someone happening. Andrew sir bouncing around while listening to the songs was so wholesome. You're doing amazing, sir. Borahae!! 💜💜
I always wait for ur reactions. U always bring some unique perception about their music. I knew about how the lyrics were reversed but my mind blew away when u showed how the music notes have also been reversed. Thanx for another amazing video. C u next Friday (or before if u r kind enough)
First of all thank you for your amazing reaction. Second of all we are so lucky to have you reacting to bts music, cuz we all are learning a lot of the music aspect in their songs that we don’t know. I appreciate you so much for your explanation and efforts💜thank you 💜. Best wishes and till the next video
thank you for reacting to these songs, i learned so much🤯 save me is one of my all time fav bts song. and you also finally experienced yoongi's fast rap sksksks his verse in Cypher pt 2, he rapped 11.4 syllables per sec, no break🔥he is the fastest rapper (or among top 3) in k music industry but he's the fastest idol rapper
I'm fine got me through a very dark period in my life. I'd put it on my headphones and repeat it in my head like a mantra as it played. Till the day came when I began to know that I really was fine. This is a very special song for me.
Just started watching and got the point you're saying how people were talking about what Caitlin found in the Fake Love MV was an ambigram, I don't know if anyone said this in the comments of that video too (or if you'll say about knowing it yourself later in the vid...) But Save Me came out as a new song in 2016 in their mostly compilation album The Most Beautiful Moment in Life : Young Forever so we had an idea what the Save Me in the their Fake Love MV was likely referring to, however when we realised it was an ambigram we didn't know that I'm Fine would even become a song, nevermind the fact that the ambigram was also a huge hint to the way their lyrics/music connect too. 🤡 They really just slapped a huge teaser right in their MV we can't trust anything x') Oh, speaking of, there's also another way the songs mirror eachother like an ambigram too; just like Save Me was a new song in a compilation album, so was I'm Fine as it released in their compilation album Love Yourself : Answer. 🤡 They have us questioning everything. Edit : Ooooh! Great job recognising the video's a one take! 👍🏻 Edit 2 : Oh gosh, yes, very tired and wet and cold x') there's a behind the scenes video for it where they're all shivering and preparing their movements behind the camera too to make it all flow well and not trip eachother up, it really shows how hard they planned the MV as they practiced so much to do it in one take and at the right time of day too... 💀 Edit 3 : I was waiting for you to notice it was reversed! So glad you added yourself realising it afterwards x') a lot of us had that same feeling like we'd heard it before but couldn't place from where in our first listens to the song. Edit 4 : I had to pause from laughing at your jaw dropping at Yoongis rapping, hilarious x') guess I'm going to unpause to you saying what you started the video with now hahaha that was great x')
Oh thanks for the background on the song! That must've been so fun to figure out when everything was coming out. And I might actually react to the music video shoot, but if not I'll definitely be watching it myself 😀
@@AndrewBergSax I'm sure there will be more moments like that in the future, they like to take us by surprise x') Speaking of surprise, I was thinking about your shock at Yoongis rap part again, I'll suggest reacting into AgustD too since you liked Yoongis rapping 👍🏻 ua-cam.com/video/_Zgc12yL5ss/v-deo.html
Oh my god, your intuition about the harmonic progression in reverse was incredible! You have an amazing ear! It's always so interesting to listen to your opinion. I really hope you'll continue to explore BTS universe; it's not so easy to find really interesting reactions by people that know what they're talking about because they have real direct experience in professional music (or cinematography, e.g. there is a Korean MV director called Yoo - 이유있는영상 channel - that explain every secret details about BTS videos in a way that only a profession can do, super SUPER interesting!); so thank you so much to take the time to share with us your musical wisdom, your dedication is much appreciated :-)
So much to say! - I had never seen that color coded breakdown of the lyrics. So cool! - I love how excited you were about the one-shot video. Good catch so early in the video. - I had always heard that the music was reversed in I'm Fine, but I thought people were referring to the beginning, where they literally play the intro to Save Me backwards. I had never taken the time to examine the actual intervals in the melodic line of the accompaniment. Form and Analysis was one of my favorite courses in college, so I am a little disappointed in myself for not recognizing it. Thank you for pointing it out. - "He's rapping so fast!" That's me literally EVERY TIME I listen to this song. Also, on the studio track, I think he does the whole thing in one breath. That's probably impossible to do with the choreography, but he does do the second part in one breath, even after the intense dancing. - After you pointed out that the order of the rappers was reversed, I realized that the singers were reversed in the chorus as well. - One thing to note when you watch Save Me again is how the choreography in J-Hope's verse matches the ad-libs a couple of times . I so enjoy watching your reactions! You give me perspectives that my inner inactive musician lives for! I look forward to everything you post. If you wanted to start a $1 Patreon for BTS's reality content, I would be the first one to sign up and I think others would as well. I don't subscribe to people who are trying to make a killing on Patreon, but only to the people who do it just so they can share content that YT blocks. Plus, I think you would really enjoy it. Think about it...
your shocked face on Suga's rap was priceless lol I've been so busy these weeks that now I'm on a maratone of the reactions I lost, because you've been the only one who besides reacting was able to teach things that only make me appreciate more and understand more the art that is their production. you definitely need to see more fanchants, it's beautiful because we're part of the songs and that's a huge level of unity between fans and artist. just out of curiosity, you can watch the behind the scenes of this video and see how it was made (and how funny it is to see the boys running after the camera)
i'm early 🎉(kinda) i love your reaction videos especially your breakdown to yoongi's raps and his songs. suga is very talented and versatile rapper, you'll get amazed by him the more you listen to his rapping:) his verses in '134340' and 'love maze' are one of my fav, hope you can react to it🙏
I really wished when I was in school many moons ago you were my teacher, you explain things so much better then my old teacher did for music. Plus I am loving all of your explanations and the parts you are catching in the songs. I never realized they were reversed! I mainly am here for their music and dancing, and they have such a huge category of songs, and I am enjoying revisiting them with a new insight on them!
I LOVE how you always add one or more jaw dropper moments in your videos…I mean the notes backwards, mirrored lyrics?…your reactions add so much to what is already a rich listening/ watching experience. Adding my vote for the Bangtan subs Save Me mv making…the one shot plus that cameraman weaving (you’ll see what I mean). Maybe drop that as a bonus mid week??? Pretty please? (I 100% don’t want you to do this too soon, because i think you’ll enjoy it more *🤯* if you already know many of the songs involved, but OMG you are going to LOVE the BU when you get there).
One of the best MVs for me..it’s so special. Also, welcome to Suga’s tongue technology..you are in for a treat. Everything they do is intentional and has a purpose. And there’s always new treasure everytime. Love them! 💜
yes, suga is also (if not the most) one of the top 3 fastest rappers in the korean music industry and the fastest among bts rapline. you have to listen to agust d and his verse in cypher pt 2. man doesn't even know how to breathe😭 this is one of the reasons why suga is called the "eminem of south korea" 😆
Absolutely. I've always thought he was impressive, but when I heard his song "Headlights" feat. Nate Ruess from the band FUN. I became a fan. Not only is it a powerful song, but he changes keys while rapping at one point.... not to mention Rap God and everything else fast that is very impressive!
Omg when I think about recommending this to you, you react to it 😭 I really wanted to know your breakdown on these 2 songs and I'm mind blown! You are literally one of my fav reactors 👏💜
This's one of your best reactions definitely, your excitement made me excited as well 😂 you compared the two songs in the best way possible and i've learned a lot from you on this one, thanks for this lovely reaction
This is why BTS are so loved and impressive - people think their title tracks are what they're about but actually, B-side tracks like this is what made us all so passionate about them! I hope you'll check out the behind the scenes of shooting Save Me, as others have said it's a great way to see the effort that went in to making it. Hope to also see you check out the lyrics to I'm Fine. Also about the fan chant - many videos edit those out for some strange reason but they always enhance the song - my fav fan chants are 21st Century Girls, Magic Shop and Euphoria (Aside from Save Me) xD
So much thought and planning go into their brilliant lyrics and music composition. I never heard anyone else refer to that kind of "mirroring" of the notes and reversing the order of the rappers. So cool.
Thank you for reaction. And yes the mv was one shot and they had to record it multiple times😄and the weather was so cold as well. Also one thing I love about I'm fine is that how the choreography matches the lyrics. The "boy meets-" is actually the concept of the wings album. The full sentence is "boy meets evil". Wings album is based on a book called "demian" and is mostly about temptation😊if you check "blood sweat and tears" you will understand.
Yes. I'm sure everyone has told you, but you need to see the making of Save Me. It is funny and awesome at the same time and I developed a deep respect for the cameraman. It shows that BTS' crew is just as talented as the boys are.
Omg, this reaction was awesome. Seing your face, shocked and amazed during the entire video was amazing x) To me "Save Me" and "I'm Fine" are just one of the numerous evidences of how smart BTS and their team are. Like, really smart. These two songs and how they answer to each other in the lyrics, the music, the construction up to this title that you can reverse, this is just genius. And the songs are so good, in addition. The choreographies too, the MV (yes for the one-take, I agree with you, I really like this kind of things) everything is so good and connected/coherent. This is why BTS are so special, in my opinion, you won't find everywhere an artist doing things like them. Thank you so much for your reaction, I really enjoy them so much and I can't wait to know what you'll see from them next, there is so much good songs from them ! :D Have a wonderful day :D
I love your reaction. Not gonna comment on anything (you caught so many things!) but your amazed face during Yoongi's rap in I'm Fine is priceless hehe. Yes, he's amazing isn't he? also to all the international non-Korean speaking ARMY like me just singing & rapping all the lyrics so enthusiastically but probably butchering all of it , keep going
I love how save me is a sad song but it has a very bright dance ..and I'm fine is a bright song with a sad dance.. it's like showing contrast in how we feel .just like when we cry cos we're happy ..and even when we feel sad we dont lose hope 💜💜💜
I love that you caught on super fast about the one shot music video! I also find the whole note reversal in the synthesizer amazing. I actually didn't know that before! Also I truly love your reaction to Yoongi's fast rapping - that it was literally jawdropping for you! haha it was SO relatable. He is truly a beast when it comes to rapping! I also feel like you're truly starting to see why many people who may not otherwise like rap music, LOVE the BTS rappers and just how truly diverse they can make each song and person sound. I personally liked a few rap songs back in my high school/college days, but never felt the need to listen to them outside of clubs or parties or dig deeper into the genre. I will literally listen to ANYTHING the BTS rappers put out and enjoy the vast majority of it.
AAAAHHHHHH my mind is thoroughly blown! What the every living daylights!?!?! they are geniuses over there with reversing the notes in the corresponding song and so are you for picking up on how it connects both songs. I need to go rest my brain now. Thank you for this.
I hope BTS get to know about your reaction channel, because they'd be so pleased to hear a music professional appreciating and explaining their musical and lyrical creativity. And they'd love your energy and Caitlin's!
I'm glad you appreciate the uniqueness and versatility of RM's raps. He doesn't always go superfast but at the same time he is actually rapping quite fast but he makes it so it doesn't seem that way. I'm from the old school hip-hop era so I really vibe with RM's style. The BTS rappers all have their own flair which blends so well together
The choreos are also reverse- in ‘Im fine’ they are often saving each other, picking each other up when they fall down. In ‘Save me’ the moves and gestures are confident, powerful and individual as if they are just fine 😏
ANDREW I’m screaming ~I love this song duo and have since I’ve heard them. I also am loving your first exposure to our fanchants. To me the note reversal has been one of my favorites pieces of BTS and it’s one of the ways they tie pieces together. Great job. CFA
Yay! Two of my favorites. I'm glad you noticed (because of course, you did) the two being reversed versions of each other and how far they took their attention to that detail. Suga's verse in I'm Fine is so hype! I love it. It was already mentioned by someone else, but you would appreciate the behind the scenes filming of Save Me. Could have been a miserable day for them, but they manage to have some kind of fun anywhere in any circumstance, which is nice to see. (: Anyway, thanks for another great reaction.
The opening part in i'm fine is kinda longer than the studio version, maybe to emphasize the "recorder playing in reverse" feel since it is the same opening as save me (idk if it is really the same one but got reversed or they just tweak the sound to get the feel of it). I'm fine is already been hinted since save me's release, so army was really excited when the song is finally coming out and we got to discover the connections between these songs. Your reaction are always so insightful, i even got a "ohhh, so that's what it is!!" Moments and feel the same joy like i did when i first hear the songs. It's really fun ^^
This is an amazing reaction. Didnt know about the reversed notes and thank you for pointing it out, only a musically inclined person would know I guess. More amazing is the effort the boys have put in for this. Do we even deserve it? There's also about the opening choreography where Jhope was holding Tae's head, and the way they executed the whole choreography is impressive, as always.
Save me is an answer song to im fine, also they made an ambigram of it for on of their performances. That's a genius. Love your reactions. Welcome to the bts world!
Really appreciate your insights on how the songs are crafted from a musical perspective, the amount of thought and care you've put into understanding their music is absolutely wonderful. I always feel like I learn something new from each of your reactions! Many thanks and love.
So cool how you pointed out some things that I didn't catch after all this time. Matter of fact, I haven't heard any other reactor catch these things either.
Going back in to watch this and comment... Actually is really special today. I stayed at work late (nonprofit) because someone came to our door at the end of their rope. Lots of things going wrong for this person family wise, health, addiction, you name it... But the important thing is, this person reached out and said, "I need help," for the first time today. To be a part of their journey towards, "I'm fine," was a real blessing, and so I take your video landing in my universe (so to speak) today as extra special. 💜 THE TINY BUNNY INTRO 🐰 🥺 How excited you were at the one-take style 😆😆 was thoroughly entertaining. Looking forward to your seeing all the hard work behind it. I reeeally want to share Ghost Band's version of "Save Me" with you, but that'd spoil Tiny Desk, so I'll have to put on my patience hat!! 🤠 I *just now* noticed the BG vocal run at 6:35 -37 🙌🏻 You know, I never particularly expect you to comment on the rapline, but you always have interesting things to say. I would say 'typically' RM's lines are standouts, j-hope's are either more musical or play with rhythm, and SUGA tends to be the speed 😈. So is this the part where I admit that I don't actually like "I'm Fine"? 😃 Yeah! I don't. I appreciate it for sure, but I don't genuinely enjoy the song. (Live version I like a little more.) Phew! Ok, no lightning bolts got me. Well, that said, I do appreciate the relationship between these songs, and I was excited to see your reaction. It did not disappoint at all! You continue to impress me with these breakdowns. (No pressure... 🤭) The way you visialized the inversion of the notes (is that the right way to put it?) was so easy to understand. Plus picking up on how the rappers were in reverse order - wow! I luv that you heard the fanchant in action. Time to learn it. 😁 (Not too difficult for someone with a sense of rhythm, since Korean names are 3 syllables.) 😅 Your reaction to Yoongles in IF is priceless. Watching this inspired me to look into doing a choreo breakdown of "I'm Fine" sometime soon. So, congratulations, I'll be listening to it more now. 😂 CFA
Hahaha I always look forward to your extremely thorough comments 😂 First of all, your job sounds incredibly stressful but equally rewarding, and I think that's amazing 💜 TINY BUNNY IS VERY NICE 🐰 I completely agree with that you said describing the rap line. That definitely makes sense... I tend to like fun rhythms and speed 🙃😸 You know what's funny, is I focused so much on the connection in the two songs probably because that was the best part (besides the lightning Yoongi) I'm glad the reactions are still impressive 😀 idk how long I can think of new things, but I'll do my best! 😅 And please do the dance analysis! I'd love to read about it 😀
The rap verses in Save Me are Yoongi, Hoseok and then Namjoon and in I'm Fine they're Namjoon, Hoseok and then Yoongi. Also Namjoon's verses in Save Me and I'm Fine are basically dialog. The verse in I'm Fine is directly talking about the lines in his verse in Save Me but reversed. Save Me: Thank you for letting me be myself For enabling me to fly For giving me wings For straightening me out, who was wrinkled For breaking me out when I was feeling suffocated For waking me up when I was solely living in a dream Because when I think of you, the sky clears I've given away a thing, such as sadness (Thank you, for becoming 'us') I'm Fine: It's okay, even if we aren't 'us' Even if sadness erases me and dark clouds come again Even if I'm in an endless dream and get wrinkled an endless amount of times and my wings get torn Even if I end up becoming someone other than myself It's okay because only I am my own salvation
2:46 your smile 😊 is so bright ! This is why Bangtan never leave us behind ! They tackled difficult stakes and because of expert eyes in any field we know that it’s only look easy. This is why this rabbit 🐇 hole is a maze ing. By the way they dance on grass with combat boots 🥾 on a windy rainy day.
Thank you, Andrew, I'm so happy that you are falling into the rabbit hole! I had been looking for a good reaction of those two songs but just found separate hints -lyrics, ambigram, meaning-, so it's a pleasure having this great reaction now. Thank your for sharing your musical knowledges with us!!! And thank you for sharing your open emotions too.
The standard fan chant is their names, starting with RM, then from oldest to youngest, then BTS: Kim Namjoon, Kim Soekjin, Min Yoongi, Jung Hoseok, Park Jimin, Kim Taehyung, Jeon Jungkook, BTS 🙏 Yeah, Yoongi is a really fast rapper, with great flow, and an amazing sense of rhythm - in one of the Cyphers, he raps at around 9 syllables per second - not “the fastest” in the world, but impressive nonetheless especially considering 5e clarity of his rap, and the way he drives the rhythm 🤷♂️ This was awesome, thanks Andrew - always learn something new from you 💜💜 Hugs to Caitlin
I can't imagine what your reaction would be to their fast rap. If you thought that part was a fast rap, omg, you have a shock waiting for you. The fastest I heard of them was RM's Joke but the Cypher series is also amazing. Thank you for a fun-packed reaction. It's nice to see your ARMYism grow.
@@AndrewBergSax oh yes….the rapping in the Cypher series is intensely fast. And SUGA does his part on one of the Cyphers in almost one breath. Truly amazing
Good catch with the notes in reverse. Suga has talked about in a video somewhere. I'm sorry I dont know where as I've consumed A LOT of content lol. Glad you're enjoying it
Wow that was so interesting! I would have never figured out the reverse notes, that is so cool!! 🙂 there is a video about how Save Me was made and it is fascinating. Borahae you guys 💜💜💜
The reverse of the synth notes blew my mind. Just further displays the intentionality in which everything is done. "I'm fine" is the reversal of "Save Me" so let's do the same with the music. 🤯 I went don't the rabbit hole with you. In the choreography I kept noticing the jump went backwards. I rewound back to save me and sure enough they reversed the choreo of the chorus.
I have to say that I enjoy these videos partially because of the amazing insight you have to offer behind their musicality and partially because seeing you get so excited over things like the way the music video was shot or the speed Suga raps is infectious! I watched this entire video with a smile on my face, and I feel like I learn something new and respect BTS and their music even more with every new video!
^^THIS^^ My face hurts from smiling along with Andrew, and it gives me such joy to see his delight in discovering and uncovering the intricacy and art in these "pop" songs.
Right, I’ve had a couple of weeks off so I apologise for the length of this in advance and advise you to settle in 🤣 I just have so much to say! Too much some that know me might add 😅 It’s now a requirement to set aside uninterrupted time to enjoy (and pause constantly). I just find it so hard to watch your videos and not have a full on conversation with myself in the comments lmao. I loveee your reaction when noticing it’s a one shot video!! I’m embarrassed to say how many times I watched it before realising because I was too focused on the dancing and didn’t notice anything else but your appreciation of it felt like we were watching it for the first time again with you. The behind the scenes of the MV shoot is brilliant watching them all scurry around behind the camera to the right positions take after take if you fancy watching something in your own time. The Save Me dance break with the fan chant is just something else, the energy I feel like it creates is insane and would be awesome to experience in person. The story development across the two songs and the musical transition between the two makes me want to cry (happily) and the ambigram is just so darn cool and I’ll never not hype it haha. It’s so beautiful artistically that I wish we had some more content on how it was created. 괜찮아 was the first word I learned in Korean because of this song and loving the pre-chorus and then because of that, it gets the award of one of the first (and only) words I actually sang along to correctly in a BTS song 😂😂 J-Hope and Suga’s part in I’m Fine could quite possibly be my favourite part of any BTS song ever and I’ll be forever mad it’s not longer. It’s top five for sure, but I feel like I’m always going ‘oh this is my favourite’ to the songs you pick for your videos so I’ll put a disclaimer in. The lyrics, the rhythm, particularly Suga’s part… There’s just something about it that no matter what I’m doing, I have to rewind to listen to it twice. Since I’ve been anticipating this reaction possibly coming some day since you saw Save Me recommended, I just have to add that I’m Fine is in my top 10 BTS songs of all time and I’m so glad you did both in this video. It’s on my every day walking to and from work playlist because the lyrics and story to the song, as well as the song itself, are such a mood booster. I can’t listen to it and not feel better off in some way after. It was one of those songs that I heard for the first time and then played about ten times in a row straight after that because it was such a bop and I wanted to hear it again and again and feel those feelings. Having said that, it just really hits differently when they’re played together. The same way if you have a favourite album, you anticipate the next song because you know the track list by heart, these two go hand in hand so wonderfully. The way they’ve composed the songs, I can’t listen to Save Me without my brain then waiting for the start of I’m Fine which I think really is genius… but somewhat disappointing since I’m always on shuffle. One of the most oft repeated things I remember reading about BTS when I first found them is that nothing they do is unintentional or by accident and I find that that mindset makes me appreciate the music and their work infinitely more. I know people could say that about a lot of artists and their work, but it’s different for me with BTS. They work in the tiny tiny details and play the long game for sure, even years apart. Everything you pointed out in the Save Me/I’m Fine combination I think is the perfect example of that whether it be musically or lyrically. You radiate so much genuine joy and glee while watching BTS that your (and Caitlin’s) videos are just a guaranteed pick me up. So as always, huge thank you for doing what you do and for falling down the rabbit hole!
Oh my god, I love this comment!!! I can't possibly respond to all of it (😂) but I agree that I want to watch the MV shooting now and these two songs really do go so well together. I also listen on shuffle and know exactly what you mean! I looked into the lyrics a bit and love how they did it. I knew I shouldn't even bother talking about them much just because there are so many better versions out there. Thank you as always for your comment! I also think the Sope moment in I'm Fine is the best part and I always want to hear it twice 😂
Oh my god. I knew that the intro to I'm fine was an ode to save me and it sounded distorted like it was being played backwards. But I did not realize that the song went to that extent! Thank you for picking up on that and showing us that visually! I love when you go into music theory a little, but still in a way we can understand. Your response to hearing the fan chant for the first time was cute XD each of the title tracks also has a 'scripted' fan chant that accompanied it. Whether it be repeating the last few words of a line or inserting the full fanchant in during the part like the dance break :)
actually if you read the lyrics for both songs, one of the verses in each are mirrored just like the notes i'll put both with the original order of lines, but mark each line with a number, so you can see which are connected Save Me: 1 - Thank you for letting me do me 2 - For letting me fly, for giving me these wings 3 - For straightening out me who was crumpled 4 - For breaking me out from suffocating, for waking me up from living purely in my dreams 5 - As when I think of you the skies clear 6 - I gave away my sadness 7 - Thank you for becoming us I'm Fine: 7 - It's fine, even if it's not us 6 - Even if my sadness erases me 5 - And the dark clouds hang over again 4 - Even if i'm in an endless dream 3 - And I become endlessly crumpled 2 - And my wings become torn 1 - Even if one day I'm no longer me, it's fine, i'm still my own salvation the whole path of Save Me and I'm fine is breaking the concept of relying on someone else to bring you happiness and becoming your own hero amazing and genius
I knew the notes were reversed between the two sonds. I was curious if you would hear it. :) Glad you picked up on it. I think it is really cool especially matched with the sort of reversed lyrics.
Oh wow! I actually almost reacted to the behind the scenes with this MV, but decided to see how the songs were connected instead!
@@AndrewBergSax I think you’d enjoy the behind the scenes. The guys kept having to run behind the camera man.
@@AndrewBergSax The behind the scenes is great and I'd love to see you react to it, just make sure to watch the one with English subtitles :)
Thank you! My mind was blown when I figured out the reverse notes part. Haha. And now I'm very excited to listen to the Cyphers and Agust D!
@@AndrewBergSax Agust D is an awesome song!
Also Dis-ease become one of this songs that Suga is going fast and nobody was ready.
Oh that's awesome, thank you! I'll look forward to that one 😀
Boy Meets Evil is a Masterpiece, the dancing is superb, the song and the lyrics is so deep 🥺 props to j-hope 👏🏻👏🏻

@UCVBvYd8RgR0ljIWp0Y4aKXg in the intro to the song after the save me tune the notes sound chopped up. That's probably the actual sample reversed.
Yes, that was so cool to hear!🥰
Since I was reading Dan Brown's angel and demon years ago, when I watch the live of save me and I'm fine, I'm screaming so hard when I see the notes
i just wanna say how much i LOVE watching u explain any music theory part like it’s such an interesting aspect of their music that i definitely wanna learn more about (especially since they’re directly involved in producing it themselves) you’re officially my favorite reactor on this app hope u have an amazing day/night

I really love your breakdowns. And J Hope and Suga make an awesome duo. They actually do some performances together, and their subunit is called SOPE-ME.
(SOPE is a combination of *S* UGA and J H *OPE)*

@@AndrewBergSax Otsukare is a vibe.
😁 You should try some of their more hardcore rap songs like Cyphers 1-4 (especially no 2) or their solo projects:
Suga (=Agust D) - Agust D
RM - Joke
J-Hope - 1 Verse
- Glad you caught all the "mirroring", just like the ambigram.
😂 It's their real names + BTS in this order (leader and then by age):
Kim Namjoon
Kim Seokjin
Min Yoongi
Jung Hoseok
Park Jimin
Kim Taehyung
Jeon Jungkook
BTS
Cool breakdown as always...and thank you for feeding the guys. 😂
💜😎👍💜
Oh that's awesome! I really want to check out the filming of the video and all of the rap stuff now, especially if that's not even his fast rapping 🤯
And that's so cool with the choreography! I definitely didn't catch that 😂

Thank you! The reversed synth was so exciting for me when I discovered it 😀
Borahae!! 💜💜
Hahaha I went back and watched a few my earlier videos the other day and was just like wow, I've come a long way 😂

Edit 2 : Oh gosh, yes, very tired and wet and cold x') there's a behind the scenes video for it where they're all shivering and preparing their movements behind the camera too to make it all flow well and not trip eachother up, it really shows how hard they planned the MV as they practiced so much to do it in one take and at the right time of day too... 💀
Edit 3 : I was waiting for you to notice it was reversed!
@@AndrewBergSax I'm sure there will be more moments like that in the future, they like to take us by surprise x')

The rap of Suga in I'm fine is mi fav, I remember the first time I listened I watched in loop like 10 times. This 2 songs still in my fav playlist.
Thank you so much, I'm so glad you're enjoying!
The notes backwards shocked me too! I had to setup my camera equipment again just to film that section 😂 and I'll do my best to post the extra video!

Oh thanks for the explanation! Blood Sweat and Tears is definitely coming up soon 😀
Yes. I'm sure everyone has told you, but you need to see the making of Save Me. It is funny and awesome at the same time and I developed a deep respect for the cameraman. It shows that BTS' crew is just as talented as the boys are.
Omg, this reaction was awesome. Seing your face, shocked and amazed during the entire video was amazing x)
To me "Save Me" and "I'm Fine" are just one of the numerous evidences of how smart BTS and their team are.

Wow! The notes are backwards💜. Thanks for showing that 😊

Hahaha I didn't know I was that into rap until recently 😅
I'm glad you appreciate the uniqueness and versatility of RM's raps. He doesn't always go superfast but at the same time he is actually rapping quite fast but he makes it so it doesn't seem that way. I'm from the old school hip-hop era so I really vibe with RM's style. The BTS rappers all have their own flair which blends so well together
When you were geeking out while realizing it's a one shot take, I was smiling and nodding like a geek too hahahaha
The choreos are also reverse- in ‘Im fine’ they are often saving each other, picking each other up when they fall down. In ‘Save me’ the moves and gestures are confident, powerful and individual as if they are just fine 😏
If you thought sugas part was fast in that song listen to Cypher pt 2.

We shouldn't be surprised they could do a one shot video! I loved your grin when you realized it was and the trance after.
Wow you caught the one shot thing before watching the behind the scenes of the music video. Love the reverse order, too. Thank you!
Hehe, you found the reverse notes 😊 this diptych of songs is yet another proof of genius that is BTS 😌
He really does such good reactions 💜
💜
Woah. I’m fine in reverse. That is wild. BTS is mind blowing! I love how everything is related.
Yoongi and his fast flow 😅😅😅
So cool how you pointed out some things that I didn't catch after all this time. Matter of fact, I haven't heard any other reactor catch these things either.
나에게 위로를 주는 bts
Going back in to watch this and comment... Actually is really special today.
I stayed at work late (nonprofit) because someone came to our door at the end of their rope. Lots of things going wrong for this person family wise, health, addiction, you name it... But the important thing is, this person reached out and said, "I need help," for the first time today. To be a part of their journey towards, "I'm fine," was a real blessing, and so I take your video landing in my universe (so to speak) today as extra special. 💜
THE TINY BUNNY INTRO 🐰 🥺
How excited you were at the one-take style 😆😆 was thoroughly entertaining. Looking forward to your seeing all the hard work behind it.
I reeeally want to share Ghost Band's version of "Save Me" with you, but that'd spoil Tiny Desk, so I'll have to put on my patience hat!! 🤠
I *just now* noticed the BG vocal run at 6:35 -37 🙌🏻
You know, I never particularly expect you to comment on the rapline, but you always have interesting things to say.
(Live version I like a little more.)
Phew!
😁 (Not too difficult for someone with a sense of rhythm, since Korean names are 3 syllables.)
😅 Your reaction to Yoongles in IF is priceless.
Watching this inspired me to look into doing a choreo breakdown of "I'm Fine" sometime soon. So, congratulations, I'll be listening to it more now. 😂
CFA
Hahaha I always look forward to your extremely thorough comments 😂
First of all, your job sounds incredibly stressful but equally rewarding, and I think that's amazing 💜
TINY BUNNY IS VERY NICE 🐰
I completely agree with that you said describing the rap line. That definitely makes sense... I tend to like fun rhythms and speed 🙃😸
You know what's funny, is I focused so much on the connection in the two songs probably because that was the best part (besides the lightning Yoongi)
I'm glad the reactions are still impressive 😀 idk how long I can think of new things, but I'll do my best! 😅
And please do the dance analysis! I'd love to read about it 😀
-the choreography in both songs also tell a story
I love how much you spazzed about the one shot mv. One shot mv enthusiastist!!!!
Save Me:
Thank you for letting me be myself
For enabling me to fly
For giving me wings
For straightening me out, who was wrinkled
For breaking me out when I was feeling suffocated
For waking me up when I was solely living in a dream
Because when I think of you, the sky clears
I've given away a thing, such as sadness
(Thank you, for becoming 'us')
I'm Fine:
It's okay, even if we aren't 'us'
Even if sadness erases me
and dark clouds come again
Even if I'm in an endless dream
and get wrinkled an endless amount of times
and my wings get torn
Even if I end up becoming someone other than myself
It's okay because only I am my own salvation
The standard fan chant is their names, starting with RM, then from oldest to youngest, then BTS:
Kim Namjoon, Kim Soekjin, Min Yoongi, Jung Hoseok, Park Jimin, Kim Taehyung, Jeon Jungkook, BTS 🙏
Yeah, Yoongi is a really fast rapper, with great flow, and an amazing sense of rhythm - in one of the Cyphers, he raps at around 9 syllables per second - not “the fastest” in the world, but impressive nonetheless especially considering 5e clarity of his rap, and the way he drives the rhythm 🤷♂️
This was awesome, thanks Andrew - always learn something new from you 💜💜 Hugs to Caitlin
It gets faster?! 🤯
@@AndrewBergSax oh yes….the rapping in the Cypher series is intensely fast. And SUGA does his part on one of the Cyphers in almost one breath. Truly amazing
"agust d" is the fastest song by bts tho
@@bonchaemanchae yes 🙌🏻 he truly is one of the best in the business
Good catch with the notes in reverse. Suga has talked about in a video somewhere. I'm sorry I dont know where as I've consumed A LOT of content lol. Glad you're enjoying it
Wow that was so interesting! I would have never figured out the reverse notes, that is so cool!! 🙂 there is a video about how Save Me was made and it is fascinating. Borahae you guys 💜💜💜
Oh my god ... we knew about monogram reversal, lyrics reversal, but we didn't know about notes reversal... Thank you so much for this. 😭
thank you for the reaction!! hope we get to see war of hormone and more of their older music from you too :]
Really nice reaction! Love to hear your musical analysis. Heard some new thing today, thank you!
Thank you, glad you liked it!
14:34 mind blown 🤯
Army and BTS deserves each other
The reverse of the synth notes blew my mind. Just further displays the intentionality in which everything is done. "I'm fine" is the reversal of "Save Me" so let's do the same with the music. 🤯
I went don't the rabbit hole with you.
괜찮아 was the first word I learned in Korean because of this song and loving the pre-chorus and then because of that, it gets the award of one of the first (and only) words I actually sang along to correctly in a BTS song 😂😂
J-Hope and Suga’s part in I’m Fine could quite possibly be my favourite part of any BTS song ever and I’ll be forever mad it’s not longer.
Your response to hearing the fan chant for the first time was cute XD
each of the title tracks also has a 'scripted' fan chant that accompanied it. Whether it be repeating the last few words of a line or inserting the full fanchant in during the part like the dance break :)
actually if you read the lyrics for both songs, one of the verses in each are mirrored just like the notes
i'll put both with the original order of lines, but mark each line with a number, so you can see which are connected
Save Me:
1 - Thank you for letting me do me
2 - For letting me fly, for giving me these wings
3 - For straightening out me who was crumpled
4 - For breaking me out from suffocating, for waking me up from living purely in my dreams
5 - As when I think of you the skies clear
6 - I gave away my sadness
7 - Thank you for becoming us
I'm Fine:
7 - It's fine, even if it's not us
6 - Even if my sadness erases me
5 - And the dark clouds hang over again
4 - Even if i'm in an endless dream
3 - And I become endlessly crumpled
2 - And my wings become torn
1 - Even if one day I'm no longer me, it's fine, i'm still my own salvation
the whole path of Save Me and I'm fine is breaking the concept of relying on someone else to bring you happiness and becoming your own hero
amazing and genius
This is so cool!!! Thank you for typing it out here!
Thank you for reaction to bts and appreciate their music 🙏🏻
I knew the notes were reversed between the two sonds. I was curious if you would hear it. :) Glad you picked up on it. I think it is really cool especially matched with the sort of reversed lyrics.
This is why I love your channel! I know nothing about music theory so having you explain it is gold! Borahae 💜!
Gotta watch the shooting sketch!!!!!
14:39 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯 BTS 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜 Thanks Andrew!!!
Hahaha 💜
