Such a smart rad dude. Learned something today with the definition of verso and understanding the animation sequence and the section at the end. Super fuckin sick. Suciu gotta bag a SOTY at some point.
Scrolled down to post the EXACT same thing. It was the first thing I thought of when I saw the last line. Ladd did the same thing almost 20 years ago, it even ends on a push, just like Suciu. Kids today, I tell ya...
Video part concept: Start the video with doing an ollie off a curb work up to the craziest trick smack in the middle of the video and then ramp back down to like a slappy on a curb.
I'm surprised that they didn't mention that Arto's part in Sorry has a little section in there like that... (when the Bowie music starts) (well... after the vomit/concussion and stretcher board-slide up the rail...) ... and that's why I'm disappointed in myself that I didn't catch it in Verso; not so obvious like in Sorry...
The best trick of the part was that 5050, because it made people think. Have you ever made millions of viewers think before? I just grasped the scope of this and I am just blown xD. Best trick of the year.
i like mark. he's a good kid. and he looks way better than when he was vegan. a little sun and a little weight. turned into a handsome dude. that shit was killing him, but ... what can you say? i liked the video part because it was so long and the soundtrack was dope and he gave me an opportunity to realize how good he was as an aesthete ... i missed the whole coda, bookend of the 50-50, but i like 50-50s because they are as pure to skateboarding as copers and rails ... and misfits t-shirts ... and thrasher features on the chili peppers in 1986. i mean it's pure skateboarding history. and they look so cool.
I didn't ming the 50. The whole thing was a little whatever as far as a concept but the 50 didn't piss me off. P J Ladd's last trick in the Coliseum video was a push. I thought it was kinda dope.(Old man for you guys that never saw the Coliseum video; check t out).
Yessss old man here too, biggest fan of Pj back in the day. Bought exclusively éS and four star gear, rode exclusively his decks-both flip when he was on their team then plan B when he moved(when I could afford something besides blanks), venture trucks, whatever the wheel brand he was on (I wish I could remember, I know it wasn’t spitfire, not ricta, I think it was hubba wheels?), and I think it was either flip or hkd bearings. I was a super fan lmao Did the same thing with rowley Then I learned how to be myself after I got flowed some stuff a few times lmao
I love the fact that, and this might sound snobby, but us skaters know it's really not a snob thing, just love; when talking about skateboarding, there's that next level knowledge of the jargon and terms and technicalities, that make it so anyone who doesn't skate or follow skateboarding is not able to understand what is going on, how we essentially speak a totally unknown language. But it's all instant comprehension, that flows in and out with complete retention.. that make sense? 🙄😘💯🔥🤙🛹🧈
He's trying it for 6 hours, can we give a hand for that fucking amazing filmer filming him through all of this
I barely noticed the 50-50 when I watched and considered the previous trick as the ender.
20:06 "Til' the next project comes" They had no idea he was about to drop 4 parts.
Such a smart rad dude. Learned something today with the definition of verso and understanding the animation sequence and the section at the end. Super fuckin sick. Suciu gotta bag a SOTY at some point.
I dont kniw, kyle walkers part was / is pretty epic
Gary Rogers is losing his shit right now
What did he say ahaha I haven’t watched skateline in a minute
Someone made a really rad video essay breaking down Sucius Verso part. Definitely worth the watch
it's like pj ladd's tre flip like it's a never ending journey
As an editor, while he's talking about his Vorso ender, the editor was brilliant by keeping skating sounds good during all the light leak effects.
Mark’s Chris Cole impression on point 🤣
wow 2 years trying that ender, can't imagine if he fucked up the 5050
Much respect to Milton, but Mark should have gotten SOTY that year.
Agree.
Nope. Milton still won that shit. I was rooting for both tho.
This year !
I love both skaters, but there was no way Milton wasn’t getting SOTY. His part was just as good, and he embodied everything Phelps loved about SOTYs.
Reminds me of the thought that went into Arto's part in Sorry...Love.
In regard to the switch regs to regs nollie lines, anyways...
You mean the part in the beginning when he's doing all the different kinds of crooked grinds?
Finally the big question of one of the great skate videos of all time.
Saying that 50-50 was his ender is like saying Pj's ender in a WHL was a flatground tre flip. Technically, sure, but c'mon!
or ck bailing a ss fs heel in his nike part.. wait
Well said
@@fr-ik3749 that’s a really great example actually
@@greens294 the fucked up part is i dont remember any other tricks from that part...

Suciu makes parts like the best pieces of art. Great on the surface, and even better when you look into it.
Ricky ended his EE3 part with a switch shifty, doesn't change the fact it's one of the heaviest parts to ever go down!
WHY ARE YOU NOT WATCHING CLIPS WHILE TALKING TO HIM?!?!?!?

lol the thought process on those last tricks is nuts but i love it.

Any time I hear old mate in the background chat it’s like Kermit is in the episode!!
been waiting on this lmfao
not gonna lie i was so blown away by that nollie heel switch 5 0 or what ever the hell it was i didn't even notice the 5050 haha
My favorite part
Verso is a classic
my favorite dylan rieder, mark suciu, and dustin dollin
Am I correct in assuming it's just the final section in the part which is the Verso concept?
Yeah that's right
I know he was just on a few months back, but i would love to see a stop and chat with mark to talk about all the 2021 released footy.
i just watched the park, technically the last trick is a nollie heel
he smart af
LD also said it was the best part he’s ever seen.
Immaculate
So…chiastic structure?
Crazy that he didn’t even know his next few projects would be what won him Soty, he deserved it in 2019, sorry Milton
Hey yall. I created a dark comedy short film. Wanted to share it with the 9 Club.
This vs cross continental?
Cross Continental imo
Verso is objectively better, but cross continental means more to me for several reasons
@@Ryan-Herron they're both so sick, but Verso made me build a new deck after not having skated for fifteen years. i suck shit, don't get excited
Verso by far .
cross continental for the era it came out, verso for the whole video
ALL TIME SOTY IF YOU LOVE PENNY YOU LOVE SUCIU
I can do his ender.
Bulllllshit he planned the fifty.
imagine his explaination for the 50-50 was him just bullshitting them on the fly, none of that shit was true.
