Modified TriPhasic seems the best style, I ve used it so much since purchasing the Cals books. OTA is hands down in the top 5 of free content on the internet. If you want a clear programm to follow pull the trigger, even if you dont end up enjoying the program, at least you know, and can move on.
@Mike basically its a 3.1 phase in between. You have the ECC. the ISO. the CON 1 and the CON 2. CON 1 works just the accelerating from a deadstop. You can try jumping off a bench from a sitting starting Position and you will exactly feel what I mean. It will be very slow/not explosive and it will suck performance wise, compared to a dropping down, prestretching and then exploding up. So thats one mod. I would always use for my soccer/football guys. For me it was a gamechanger, because I always needed the dropping and stret hing to build a power, if someone caught me in position that low it just exposed how weak I was at that ROM. If you have any further question feel free to ask. 💪🏻
@Mike Yes sir. At least, the intent to move as fast as possible concentrically is always wanted. But that shouldnt stop you from using slow concentric movements in your hyp. phase that you can have in between. You got it right. The unloaded start makes the difference. There is nothing wrong with Dietz tho, He himself can will adjust for Individuals if the skillset and developemt is there. Time constraints can have you bundle and skip the planned length of some phases as well. Depending on injuries, seasons, starter positions or just for fun activities, you can and should adjust those principle to your needs. If I understood correctly Cal always said these are just principles that can and should be adjusted to your needs. Paul is great source as well, I checked out the EDGEU, I think it was called something like that, and it was more interesting to know stuff than must know Information on the site. Havent seen his other products like the vert code, so i say much about it. Did you try some of his programs?
@@overtimeathletes Cool . Would be interesting to hear your thoughts. Your videos have helped me a lot over the years. I've got massive respect for your channel.
Perfectly said. Ecspecially when talking about foot and ankle strengthening. I do cardio warm up drills before I do my morning HIIT cardio, and I definitely include ankle and foot strengthening exercises in it
Thanks man, as someone who's trying to learn all I can about increasing vertical dunk on my dunking journy, you sharing your experience and knowledge is very helpful.
Chris. Can you do a video educating us on the hip area and how it helps with speed. What exercises to do, etc. Is having an anterior pelvic tilt good for sprinting or should athletes try to reduce that? Hip flexor info and what can help. Like is bike riding recommended. Thanks Chris!
I've heard some say you should keep spine away from femur to help with hip flexion, but I believe you said sprinters should be leaning forward a little and still be able to lift legs(as opposed to leaning back)
He broke it down to a science. I like that
