Not only is she "beautiful", she is a pleasure to travel on...how many can say you were swimming on a paddlewheeler while going up the Mississippi River?
The Natchez and the Belle of Louisville are both still great. The American Queen isn't really the real thing. It has Z drives and the paddlewheel is mainly ornamental. It couldn't push the boat on its own power. Boats this size were always sidewheelers anyway.
She has bow thrusters on either side of the boat. The paddlewheel, as I understand, provides 70% of the power with 2 izopods assisting maneuvering and propulsion.
YOU have NO idea what you are talking about,. This is the FINEST and most BEAUTIFUL BOAT on the River. I have been on the Delta numerous times (live in Cincy area) and she doesn't near compare to the American Queen.,

Weather will affect the pitch of the calliope. Tuning will only last a short time until the next temperature change.

The Delta queen is 100% better! The Delta queen is 100% steam power! And she was built in 1924 what is the American Queen main propulsion system?
Scrap the delta queen.
Scrap the Delta Queen use the money to rebuild the Mississippi Queen.
