Yes, using a type c cord is okay but what I noticed it will charge your Nintendo switch slower. The power box charges your switch at a fast steady pace while a regular cord will charge your switch at a slower steady pace.

Hi i personally think ear Buds are more comfortable than headphones! Reasoning being that i wear glasses and have multiple piercings in my ear, so if i wear headphones over longer times those all tend to be pressed up against my head wich can be very uncomfortable.
Yea same here, I wear glasses so headsets press them against my head and hurts really bad. Plus I have a small head so headphones don’t even stay on me properly lol
What I'm getting from this is that the only people who prefer ear buds are people who have some form of hindrance that severely cripple headphones.

Heads up! The pro controllers come with usb type c cables. Not only can they be used to instantly pair them with your switch but they can also be used to charge your switch on to go in handheld mode.
I really wouldnt recommend using any C chargers to charge ur switch, just go for the official charger 90% of the time, or u might damage the battery and reduce his life span.
@@privatecabo8400 it’s not a big deal. Switch charges at 15v so if you have a power supply that can do it it’s good. But usb pd also supports 5v since that’s the usb standard voltage, the switch will get power from it, just much slower.

@@privatecabo8400 When charging docked yes. When on the go however, you don't always have an outlet so powerbanks are what you got. When in handheld mode with a power bank, the power it asks for is within safe ranges. Now, if you had a garbage quality power bank then touché. If you try to use a power bank to power a device in dock that is also a problem waiting to happen.
@@duck_man1048 It depends. If you have an early model switch (model no 1) then there could be your problem. The model one switch is notorious for high thermals and low battery life. In that model, the battery lasts for between 2 and 2 1/2 hours when playing an intensive game and maybe 5 hours playing something light. If not, poor charging habits or exposure to high temperatures could do it.

Some crappy over-ear headphones can suck though if they don't actually fit over your ears and just press on them. I've had some terrible experiences with public school headphones where the "cushions" are really hard leather with a ton of creases that just press down on your ear very hard and leave imprints.

@@Looneytunesfan08 there are rumours that it can brick the switch due to differing voltage, but from what i hear that isnt true, as the voltage is gated to a certain amount of volts able to pass through.

@@linklink3069 not sure what is the exact price of an official pair of switch headphones, but assuming its below 30$ you can probably get some IEMs for that same budget and will most likely have better quality sound. Currently been using IEM Moondrop Chu for a month, switched from a pair of Razer Kraken X, and surprisingly enough the IEM sounded better on both audio and mic, only exchange is the build quality, with a pretty cheap cable.
I'm not sure about the quality of the Switch headphones, but i would guess some IEMs (or even other headphones) would do better

USB-C plugs have a feature where they can communicate with devices to provide the correct amount of power to your device. This means you can use a laptop charger for your phone if it’s usb-c. You just have to make sure the cord/brick has the correct amount of volts for your switch, or it won’t get enough power.
I remember as a kid I really wanted the Wii Wheel for Mario Kart 8 on the Wii U. It’s 2023 and I still don’t have those controllers for either the Wii U or Switch.
I remember seeing those Nintendo switch headsets at GameStop and even asked the chick who was working at GameStop that day "what's the point of the headset when you can't even do voice chat on the switch?" She completely agreed of me and didn't even try to sell me the product at all. 😂

I own the nintendo switch licensed headphones and ngl they pretty comfortable and smooth! The mic also works great!
Pro tip: if you're looking for earbuds on a budget buy the Panasonic Ergofit. They don't look like much but I ABSOLUTELY PROMISE YOU their sound quality is waaaay yoo good for their price.
Seriously IDK what Panasonic packed into those things, they sound awesome. (also there's a version with microphone if you want that)
Another good budget set of earbuds are the KZ ZSN Pros. They're built to last, have amazing sound quality and a pretty decent cable too. They're twice the price of the ergofit, but still really affordable at $25.
Another good earbuds the one of samsung that are without cable they cvome free with new phones
no acctually, I've had that nintendo brand headset for a while, sound amazing and haven't had a single issue with it, it's like 20 bucks and is completely worth
My friend has one of them and the microphone sounds terrible, but not so much games have microphone on the switch so still is a good budget option
It's probably good enough budget headphones but if you can pay like 50 bucks you will get a much better sound quality and microphonr

The last one is true. I had those exact Nintendo Headphones and they seemed to be good at first. But if you plan to play any social games where you talk to other people, the mic started to create a weird noise when you speak which would increase pitch, probably because the microphone is faulty. Ok, let me clear something up. The only reason (that I know) to not use a 3rd party charger is that if it's the wrong voltage, it could fry the power management chip

The battery would break, each plug has a different power output, and if battery have a ammount of power they can take in and if the battery gets too much power the battery is slowly damaged

Tech repairman here. Any USB-C cable is perfectly fine to charge your switch with.
The Mario kart wheel is nostalgic, I literally grew up using one for wii when I used to get absolutely destroyed by my brother at Mario kart when we were kids

Yes and no. Cause it wont break your switch to use a non nintendo charger. But it wont charge as fast or power the dock unless its made to use more volts like a laptop charger

that usb-c things actually required. if you need to replace the cord to the dock, you need the official box one. its annoying but it doesnt run without it
Pro tip dont buy an ac adapter (unless you lose it) just take a few minutes to unplug the one in the dock that you put in
Actually, what you shouldn't buy is any old power adapter. If you buy a USBC power adapter from a reputable sores, and Nintendo is following the USBC specifications (which I suppose is not a given) then it should be able to tell the device what how much power it wants and it will be safe.
Dude Nintendo knows this stuff. Moreover, original products are better in my opinion. For some reason I get angry if it's not original. :D
For usb c adapters, if your in high school, or it comes packed in with it, a USB c chromebook charger will also work really well, I use my chromebook charger for my phone and switch
I know I should only use the official Type-C charger, but I always cross check the amperage and I’ve found that Apple’s 20 and 30 watt Type C chargers provide the right levels and automatically adjust based on power needs for the devices they connect to. I say, it’s fine to use alternative chargers, just make sure you understand which amperages and voltages the official one uses… and never use cheep chargers from a gas station.

Using a non nintendo type c charger won't break your switch. It will charge slower and may not power the dock tho if its not one that's made to draw more power like a laptop charger.
For the Wheel, if you had the Nintendo Wii just use the steering wheel. It came with works the same way.
I prefer earbuds when taking something portable. But Idk exactly which one I would label “more comfortable” if Imma be honest.

Dude those red and blue switch headphones were a tank, the lasted years with great quality and only died when my chrome books aux port broke so I threw them away thinking they were the problem, wish I still had them 😭😭

Only downfall is when playing Pokémon, you have to put your console on Airplane mode, activate bluetooth and then connect your wireless earbuds to have them function in Pokémon, and Pokémon seems to be the ONLY game that will just refuse your access too wireless earbuds for some reason

Some people are saying “using a normal charger won’t break your switch!” but from personal experience, yes it will eventually ruin your switch
I always use the proper chargers on my phones and handheld consoles and have never fried any of my electronics. Too many people purchasing power bricks from gas stations, lol.
The issue with the Switch breaking wasn't the USB-C cable, it was the power control circuit on certain third party docks made by the same manufacturer. They messed up the power control circuit, tried to blame Nintendo's design, and then an independent test proved that they were just wrong.
EDIT: forgot to mention, the headphones have a really nice sound profile, and I can't wear earbuds because they either fall out from being too loose or make my ears hurt from being too tight with no in between. Plus I have naturally damp ears, so earbuds get gross fast.

Specifically when it comes to the USB C cable, it is a bad idea. The Switch doesn’t actually use a USB-C port that follows the USB-C standard, its just shaped the same. Using a regular USB-C cord can damage the battery.
Headphones and earbuds comfort is a personal preference. I find headphones more comfortable

I use a Razor headset called the Kraken X which i can tell you is the MOST comfortable headset I’ve ever put on. And im NOT using cheap earbuds that will most likely fall out my ears within seconds of wearing.
