Ah, this was brilliant for me. I have one of these on order but have read different things about what self-charging hybrids will or won't do. Seems it will do a lot more than I expected (I can't go full EV either). Thanks for doing this!
No problem, I really like this car, and the more I drive it the more I love it. Like yourself full EV isn’t an option yet, but it is a great compromise and has certainly scratched the itch for an EV for now.
Really interesting real life review, I’ve been waiting for mine since last July and finally told today that I’ll have before the end of the month, I have a 2020 juke so looking forward to the hybrid experience
Great review Paul! Best one I have found on UA-cam! I am thinking of getting a Tekna +. Some great info there on how it works/what its like to drive. Thanks.
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave this kind feedback. Glad you found it informative. I do love the car and will be looking to put another follow up now we’ve had a cold snap of what I experienced and some new driving and fuel saving methods I’ve learnt so watch this space.
Interesting. I too have a Juke hybrid Tekna + and found the car drives much like you say. I’ve noticed that it occasionally doesn’t like hills, especially if you start from low speed. I regularly get 58mpg but have achieved 62.1mpg. Likes - mpg, looks, tech. Dislikes - outdated infotainment system. Not a great lover of the Aero Wheels.
Thanks for reply. I think the same about the wheels and infotainment. Although it’s not liking this cold weather, mpg has dropped significantly since we’ve had this cold snap, which is likely because of needing more of the auxiliary’s and electric motor / batteries don’t like the cold. I’m looking to do a follow up review after Christmas. Still doesn’t like short journeys either.
@@TimeOut22 hi there. Thanks for watching. I am going to do a follow up as I am learning so many new things each day. The MPG took a bit of a hit during the cold freeze we had but now it’s warmed up … and I’ve been using super unleaded it has improved again but I’ve also changed my driving style, making better use of the drive modes too and this has seen a significant improvement indeed.
@@stacattos HI, during the warmer months was getting around 57 mpg on average, in the cooler months it drops to around 53MPG. Best I have got in one day was 81mpg. Doesn’t do so well on motorways.. averages about 49mpg dependant on distance and speed of cause.
- Comfortable - Nippy - Quite economical - Full of tech - Easy on the eye - Effortless to drive - Does most things an electric car does - Can be fun to drive Bad points… - Can feel a bit old compared to other cars, although recent facelift has helped modernise it better - Wish the EV only mode could be used at any speed, as EV will come on at any speed under the right conditions - Can be a bit laggy when driven hard - Economy is hit and miss - Misses some nice touches other cars of its class have… for example auto tailgate opening…. Would be a nice touch
You just cycle left or right using the steering wheels left side buttons to find the turn by turn navigation screen, not sure how many times you may have to go to the compass and go up or down. I have changed to the face lift one now.
Hi I’ve got a 73 techna + juke. Q. Do you know of a way to permanently remove the message which pops up every time we start up ie. Please accept data ……… by accepting press ok.
Hi Rebecca, it doesn’t sometimes over rev when it is cold, but not had so much when warmed up and on the run. Although I think there was a recall on an issue similar, not sure if this has now been fixed.

Great video. Really informative. Thinking of getting one later this year… i don’t want the car to be sluggish off the mark…
Really good informative & honest review - I’m thinking of getting one & this has really helped my decision👍😊

Good informative video mate.

Q. You have yours a while now. I’m struggling to get the heads up navigation arrows on the dashboard screen between the dials. Any ideas please.

As far as I know you can’t
I have a 23 8 month old hybrid. Finding it over revs sometimes and quite bad when on motorway. Does this happen with yours?

The hybrid system is similar to my jazz ehev
