You look like a Celtic princess in your flowing green, and you sound like an angel playing her meditations to all of nature. . . how can you so perfectly strum my heart-strings with a song that I've loved since before you were born?
My husband plays this on guitar and we were just deciding to team up with the harp. I can’t believe you posted this now! Will be purchasing it soon. ❤️
Ooooo yay that’s amazing Rene! The late intermediate version is quite tricky, so for ensemble playing you may want to keep it simple and get the late-beginner version 😊 Have fun playing it with Timothy! Sending love.
I actually came to the comments to see if the lilies were wild, planted in the field or staged. Either way, they are so pretty. As well as the song and your video!
Incredible playing of a stunning arrangement, & magnificent video. The lilies are the perfect setting! Thank you for sharing another beautiful song, Christy-Lyn!
Wow Christy-Lyn! You're such an amazing and inspiring person! You help me out a lot when pausing playing my instrument (which is an Les Paul electric guitar) and taking a deep breath. Your music is so beautyful like everything you touch is destined to become filigree and your positivity is like a cure. You deserve to hear that you're a beautyful woman and a beautyful artist!
@@LearningtheHarp Thank you! I had actually mentioned on your Hallelujah video that I was finally getting my first harp. I don't know if you saw. I understand you are busy though. Anyway, I am using the Pamela Bruner Play the Harp Beautifully book that your friend/assistant Tia recommended to me!
Oh that’s lovely! That’s a good book, great! Sometimes I don’t see comments on older videos, and especially when it’s a reply to a comment, UA-cam doesn’t tell me about that so I often don’t notice replies 😬 But I’m glad to hear about it! Enjoy the first exciting days with your harp!!
Oh that’s wonderful, Fiona! Tell him I say hi! Was always fun waving at him during our lessons, hehe 👋🏻 Wow I would love to see an updated video of your playing, I’m sure you’re so much further than when I last saw you play!
Hi Christy I plan to buy an Ogden like yours this winter. I love the natural stained wood color of yours. Just to let you know. I have 2 and one 26 stringed one i made and a professional Irish harp 30 strings. I plan to make a table-stool boxfor the Ogden for I do not care for the legs.
Ooooo that must sound quite different! Do you include the glissando and everything? I’d love to hear that! Yes the late-intermediate arrangement is quite a tough one. For harp maybe the late-beginner one would be more achievable right now? 😊
This is so beautiful. What a lovely arrangement. Can't wait until I have the skills to play this. I inadvertently downloaded the late intermediate version instead of the beginner version. 🙄
There isn’t a video lesson for the late-beginner arrangement this time, only sheet music. So maybe you can try that in the meantime? You should have access to it on Patreon 😃
So beautiful! Love the setting and the music. Thank you so much, for all that you do. I appreciate the team work required for such a performance. Thanks for sharing.
@@LearningtheHarp it will be challenging, but it is also worth it, because it is beautiful and will help me improve my harp technique! I am very glad that you give suggestions in the video lesson for how to place the chords when your hands are small. My hands are not only small, but I also broke my wrist a few years ago, and my fingers don't stretch like they used to. Thanks for all you do!
Wow, Christy-Lyn, this looks like a stretch!! But love it. By the way, we are trying to eradicate arum lillies as they choke our watercourses in Australia. I still bring the flowers inside after they are dug up. I knew they had been introduced, just didn't know they were from South Africa. How good to be able to keep them!!
Oh that’s so interesting! They don’t go out of control here, I guess that’s because they belong. Sorry they’re so vicious in Australia 😁 Yes we enjoy having them in their natural environment, and people often use them for flower arrangements too.
Do you have any tips or advice for filming music videos? I plan to finish filming my first one soon and I’ve watched so many videos but I mainly just don’t know what to do about choosing different scenes etc
I think my main advice would probably be to get a few friends/family to help you. I used to find it stressful in my own. Even if they don’t have knowledge, the support and help with carrying stuff and making decisions can make a huuuuge difference. Also helpful to watch videos in similar types of locations, and brainstorm on what you like about them. And then try experimenting with those types of shots if you can! Final advice is you can’t just do one video and expect it to be the most epic thing ever. Every time we do another one we learn more, and keep improving. It’s fun when you do it as a team! 😃
@@LearningtheHarp Thank you so much, have played my own and various versions over the years and was bored with it. I purchased your PDF today and I really LOVE it. Your arrangement is amazing, flows perfectly and absolutely elevates the piece, even the awkward bridge which you have made just magical 💗 thank you!
Yes it’s Cape Town, South Africa. It’s my home town and SUCH a beautiful place!! You should google photos of Cape Town 😍 These lilies are called arum lilies, and grow naturally all over Cape Town in winter.
@@LearningtheHarp Thanks for answering me 🙏😍 I am so impressed..so wonderful. And I also Iove your videos and see you playing the harp. I started this year to practice playing the harp 🤗 and your advice help me a lot. Thank you 🙏
Are you listening on a phone? It’s probably that your speakers don’t have much bass to them. Try listening on headphones or bigger speakers that have more bass 😊 I’m glad UA-cam is showing you lots of my videos, yay! Thanks for watching 😃💕
Thanks Brianna! I will add it to the wish list 😁 I’m only making arrangements for the most highly voted for songs, so we’ll see what people vote for next time 😃👍🏻
Hi Christy Lyn! Just confirming - your course goes through the easier version too? I saw the notes for it but the course seemed to only cover the more advanced version?
Hi Donna! At this time I’ve only made a course for the late-intermediate version, so for the beginner version there is only sheet music. But perhaps one day I will make a course for the easier version, we’ll see! 😄
@@LearningtheHarp thanks very much for getting back to me so soon and confirming! That's okay - the late-intermediate version is something to strive for! Thank you for all you do xxx
Hey, sorry I missed this comment! I’m in South Africa and I don’t do weddings 😄 But I’m sure you can find some really good harpists to play at your wedding! There are lots in California. Messing around on UA-cam trying to find someone who can actually play the harp properly and thank God I finally found you.
So beautiful....almost as lovely as the harpist!
You’re too sweet! 🥰

Love this - will take me a while but am determined to learn.
The good thing is that it’s not a race ☺️👍🏻
Just beautiful! People love hearing familiar tunes like this! I know I do!
Fantastic! 😃
Mesmerising. I think I’ll learn the late beginner version first. I’d love to be able to be at this level of playing. So gorgeous!!!
