Thank you very much for your video. I just purchased mines today after dell website . I plan to use it as a third monitor for my coding class that I’m going to take this December. Hopefully it will help me out. Thank you very much much again for your video. You’re awesome.😊
No HDMI due to a number of reasons: size of a standard HDMI port, lack of power pass-through, cost. USB-C provides flexible connectivity as you described across multiple devices. Great review of the C14!
Not to mention that HDMI was designed for TVs so doesn't 'really' have a place in computing. DisplayPort is where it's at for dedicated display, um, ports.
Your points about HDMI and DisplayPort are highly insightful, thanks for sharing. It’s interesting to discuss the more technical aspects of these products. As you noted, USB-C certainly does provide great flexibility across a multitude of devices. It's fantastic to know you found the review of C14 useful. Feel free to dive in and discuss more!@@FlyboyHelosim
I appreciate your insight, pointing out the reasons for lack of HDMI. It's great to hear you found our review of the C14 useful. I agree, the flexibility of USB-C connectivity is one of its great advantages. Thanks for taking the time to engage with the content!
Great AMA and live demo with other devices! “ilovedell” 😂. Not the designer, but HDMI port will take up space and requires plumbing internally. With DP over Type C we also have power pass through! #iwork4dell
Hey just an update for the iPad portion of this video… IPadOS has added external monitor - EXTENDED display support with the use of Stage Manager. That makes this portable monitor even cooler!
Hello and thank you for your video. How many of these can you connect? Can you connect four of these to your laptop so you basically have a multi screen studio on the go? If not directly, may be via some type of adaptor? Assuming laptop is plugged in and gets all the power it needs.
You're welcome! It's my pleasure to help promote the best user experience possible. If you decide to try connecting four devices, I'd love to hear how it goes! Happy experimenting!@@taurusview9
Hi There Thank you for this video. I got one recently, it was the last piece at the store which was used as a sample. unfortunately i did not get the usb type c with it and when i try using my type c cables at home, it wouldn't work. please advise. Am i required to use a particular type c cable? Thank you advance
Hello there! That is great , yes you can’t just use any type of usb type C , you need to have a cable that is specifically designed to support video transmission such as USB-C cable with DisplayPort Alt mode or thunderbolt 3! I hope this helps
Great device. You also didn’t mention one thing that you can’t see on the camera but the weight is crazy light. I think the sleeve is probably the weight of the actual monitor
Thank you for pointing that out. The weight is definitely an impressive aspect that sets this device apart! The portability this offers is a huge selling point and the lightness of the sleeve definitely adds to that. I'll be sure to emphasize this in my future videos.
It looks like they don't sell the C1422H anymore. But they relabeled it as a P1424H. Do you think it's the same exact thing? B&H still has the C1422H for much cheaper than the P1424H. ooh why can't give it a regular name lol
Hey there! You should be able to connect it to an Android device with no problem at all. Just make sure you're using the appropriate USB connector. It's an excellent device for watching videos and UA-cam. Hope this helps and happy viewing!@@skfjhsdjklfhsdjlfhsd
Thanks for your comment. If you do not have a type-C, video could pass using an adapter if your type A supports video starting with USB3.0. You also need the right dongle. I haven’t tested, but an adapter like this one could work amzn.to/3U9X465. If you test, please let me know the results so others can benefit from it. Thanks again!
It seems from Dell support page that you model have 3 type A 3.0 so you should be fined. Still test as this ain’t a guaranteed success. do you power your dell monitor when you connected to your ipad? the dell monitor itself does not have built-in battery, without powering it, it won't work with ipad unlike laptop
I'm curious on how I can use it as a regular monitor. Can I power it with a power adapter on one side, and then use a display port to USB C on the other side?
@@jesstechspice Thanks for responding. I was wanting to use it with my desktop, but also be able to use it with my laptop at other times My setup is a little weird lol
Thanks for explaining your setup! Yes, for your desktop, you can power it via power adapter and connect it using a display port to USB C. For the laptop, simply use its power. This way, it should be handy for use with both systems.@@Vivianite02

Oooo is that with the new software update, I will try it!
Can you use this monitor as a mirrored monitor from an iPhone with a lightning to USB-C cable ?
Yes!

You can daisy chain them one into the other! I haven’t been able to try with four but I don’t see why not!

Will you be doing more videos on the dell u3023e?? (like a first month impressions or a comparison with the 4k version)
Yes!!
I have been thinking about pulling the trigger and getting one of these for too long now. Haha.
Dooo it! I’m currently travelling now and using it in my hotel room! Couldn’t ask for a better set up!

Hello, does this monitor is able to connect to a Nintendo Switch without the dock? Using only the cable to connect it directly through the device?
Good Question! I have a switch, let me test it out!
Interested in the answer to this please!

Can you plug in an HDMI dongle? Do dongles work?
Yes!

I haven’t tried it with that OS but it would be the same :)

having issues my MacBook Air M1 won't recognize the monitor
Oh no!! I haven't run into those issues. Did you get it working?
I have one, very useful even if it does have a limited amount of features, such as a touch screen and power pass-through.
Yes! It really is my go to device when travelling!
