I travel a lot for my work and have this coupled with an XPS 15. Flawless compatibility, obviously, and matches my work flow when I'm back in my home office and using my main desktop monitor. Really handy for presentations to small groups too.

I just want a secondary small display for home setup as an addition to two of my 27 inch displays... For background youtube watching or spotify. But now Im searching for a portable display with 2 connection ports so I can have two of my devices connected - home PC and corporate laptop. Both of them are connected to my 2 27inch monitors. I wonder, if this portable display have autoswitch between devices if both ports are connecting, depending on which device is giving a signal at the moment?
depends on your line of work but when your multitasking for work and get used to working with 2 or 3 monitors there’s no going back, not only is it a game changer its also a timersaver.
We share your opinion that having multiple monitors at home or work is a great advantage, but for people who require more mobility, this is an excellent option.
Does it need power cable? Or just connect it with laptop and usbc cable will provide power to it? I always hate to connect monitor with power cable as most of time there will be no outlet close to you…
Thank you for the great question! Indeed, there's no need for a power cable; simply connect the USB-C cable to the monitor and the other end to your computer. How convenient is that!
I'm in IT support and we are looking for a portable monitor to test while supporting different issues. Would this work by using an adapter to a regular display Port on a desktop PC?
You can use a DisplayPort to USB-C cable with a Dell portable monitor, but there are a few things to keep in mind: 1. Compatibility: Ensure that the USB-C port on your monitor supports DisplayPort Alternate Mode (Alt Mode). This mode allows the USB-C port to transmit video signals⁶. 2. Power Supply: The DisplayPort to USB-C cable will only transmit video data. If your monitor requires power through the USB-C port, you will need a separate power source. 3. Cable Specifications: Not all USB-C cables support video transmission. Make sure the cable you are using is specifically designed for DisplayPort Alt Mode. Please visit Dell's Support Website for additional information.
@@EZANZ Yes I do understand all that, just wanted to know if a separate power cable would be needed, sounds like that would be the case. I work for a hospital system and nurses love their big information big boards. Sometimes in order to troubleshoot we have to bring a monitor with us to test. I thought this would be a good alternative to carry around. I will have to investigate on our Dell Optiplex Micro models and their USB-C port, thanks for responding to my question.
Hey, my dad has one of these, and when we plug in his Samsung android, it doesn’t mirror his phone, it brings up a desktop version on screen and he has to use like this black touch pad on his phone. But when I plug in my iPhone, it mirrors it. I tried to figure out how to get his phone to simply just mirror it so he doesn’t have to hassle with the touch pad.. any help? Thank you
Thanks for watching and for the awesome question! Make sure your Dell portable monitor supports USB-C input and that your Android phone can output video via USB-C. You might need to enable display output on your phone, which you can usually find in the settings under “Connected devices” or “Display.” If you run into any issues, check the user manuals for both your phone and monitor, or visit the support pages for additional help. Happy connecting! 📱💻
Maybe you've already found an answer, but anyway... That happens because Samsung has the feature called DeX mode. When it's on it turns your phone into some kind of laptop. Iphone doesn't have this option so it's simply mirroring the screen to the monitor. You can try to turn the DeX mode off on your Samsung phone, but I don't know if it will work. Maybe you can't turn it off when the monitor is connected. Also you can play around with Smart View, that's an option to mirror the Samsung screen on the TV, I don't know if it will work with monitor cause I don't have one😅 And I have a question for you :) I'm thinking about buying this Dell monitor for my Samsung phone, can you tell, does it need an extra power source or you just plug it into your phone and it works like that (without electricity I mean)?
I use this with my Apple iMac. Works without a flaw straight out of the box.

can you pug another monitor into the first monitor for a 3 monitor set up?
Thanks for your question. No, all monitors would have to run through the pc.

@@EZANZ does it have a battery though or is it entirely powered by the Laptop which will then drain its battery much quicker I guess?
