Dude they are on FIRE here. I remember catching this on public access TV back in the day. Still one of the great unsung bands ever and John and Brandon's current band the Lees of Memory is just as good. This was my dreaaaammmm....
Perfection achieved... When your live stuff sounds better than the studio track it's another level. Ppl liking this should check out the Daytrotter Sessions, ESP Senorita
When they opened for Green Day at the Factory in 97 they got booed off stage, and I wouldn't say I was embarrassed, but they didn't deserve. On that same stage a few years later when Artie Lang came to town they booted Colin Quinn off stage. Philly fans, well.....We're a ilttle fucking nutz. But Superdrag fucking rules. :)
@@MyRetroLife Not yet, but who knows what's on the tapes I have. It's possible. If I find it I certainly will upload. I try to upload only stuff that other people haven't. I saw Fastball once, I think they opened for Better Than Ezra or maybe Matthew Sweet.
Tyler!? Hey! I'm the biggest superdrag fan on earth, I can tell you this was from 96. They stopped touring at the end of 96 /start or 97 to make Head Trip which was hated by the label and they were not given funding for tours or a video and they didn't even play live at all in a serious way until 99/2000. Shame as it was the best record of all time
I had this broadcast recorded back when I was in high school. It was just this song and “rocket” that were aired, sadly. The whole show has to exist somewhere!
It could be any reason. I have several boxes full of VHS tapes I go through on occasion to find these rare gems. I usually only post things that are not out there already. This was one of those rare diamonds. The tape was giving me trouble, though. It was seizing up and stopping during rewind. Luckily, I got it to work somehow. My old Hitachi VCR is a beast of a machine!
@@VincentFink Its because of Electra records. Same with the vid for Destination Ursa Major. You can see them on the MTV website. I was watching these guys do College sets before they was ever signed. They had that " IT" factor from day 1. John Davis is one of the best songwriters of our generation. This isn't even the tip of the iceberg when it comes to their song catalog. John and Brandon Fisher has had a group called The Lee's of Memory for several years now....INCREDIBLE BAND
I'm afraid I didn't get "Rocket", or may have had it at one time and recorded over it. The VHS it came from was a tape which was used to snag things of interest in a moment's notice. Thanks for watching!
During the last chorus, they should have played straight through instead of dripping out the guitar like on the first 2 Choruses (“Who Sucked Out…”) 🎶 The song loses it’s momentum otherwise.
They should've been playing to crowds this big their entire career. Absolute geniuses.
I can’t believe these guys didn’t become huge. Great song!
Power Pop. None of them got big.

If anyone stumbling across this doesn't know their discography, just listen to an album. Any of them.
Dude, this captures exactly what a 90s rock show was like!

...played-out rockin' routine...
1:44-1:46 THAT's stage presence par excellence.
Bro
Care to explain what was so good about that moment? Lol
Every song every album: Bangers!
seriously, every album.
That's a HUGE crowd they're playing to! The Sound and the Fury: Man, they were on point. Many thanks for uploading this.
One of my all time favorite song. Always in my playlist
This guy's a good live singer!
That entire album was amazing!!! A band that never got their due respect.
regretfully yours was a great record... loved it.
One of the best american bands ever.
GREAT album- every track
Where's the music video to this? I can't find it anywhere on youtube
I loved this song when it came out!!!!
Just really fucking good rock n roll
Unsung band

Everybody check out John's band the Lees of Memory. Brilliant shoegaze at its peak.

Love that baseline!! Sounds especially good here :-)

Are you sure this wasn't '96 or '97 when Sucked Out was big? Were they playing big televised gigs like this in '98?
Honestly, it could be...I found it on a VHS with some stuff before it from 1998. I think 1996 is more likely and I'm going to change the title.
Zizzbiz Cool. Yeah that seems more like it. Find any Fastball performances on tape? I’ve been looking for their TRL appearance for decades!

Holy smokes this quality is awesome, do you have the whole show?
Unfortunately, no. Just this track.

@@rocknrollsinger I recorded something over "Rocket" like a damned fool...sorry this is all I have, but rock on-this performance is A+
. nirvana Weezer and supedrag and the offspring was the shit back then
I’m kinda rushing the bass line 🎵😎🎵
Is that you on bass? Awesome! You were just playing at the required energy level. It's only rock n roll.
Who sucked out the views?
Just posted-please allow some time. Great performance-though.

Did you tape "Rocket" too? Because I can see they go into that as the next song as this video cuts off.

Honestly the only band of the 90s worth talking about
And Failure and STP
This kills the original version
