I wish I'd known the team was in my backyard. I would have stalked you for an official thank you hand shake on teaching me to be a better angler and insisted on showing off some Detroit hospitality, world renound cuisine, and a few things besides our great fishery that rides below radar. Growing up in the city where you guys launched the boat created butterflies inside as I watch more shows giving exposure to the River. The locals have enjoyed and welcomed an array of famous personalities and I'm particularly excited the IPro staff made the trip.

You sir are fishing right around my shore spots. It's a great fishery, but any east wind and it's dirty on the side your fishing fast. You'd be amazed though, in 24 hours a south west or west wind will clean things up fast. You were about a week shy of some serious hogs being caught, consistent fish close to 10 lb range were reported the week before. I'm surprised this is the first time I've seen an episode filmed here. Some days this fishery can blow your mind for numbers and size.

James. The water clarity difference comes more from Lake St. Clair than river wind direction. West winds beat the east shoreline of the lake leading to the stained water. Ag and topography of the area are also a factor. Thanks for making it over this spring and spending some time and money in my home state. We’re heading over Thursday for our annual long weekend of walleye fishing in Trenton. Can’t wait. The river is on 🔥 from bank to bank, top to bottom. Looking forward to more Midwest content from you guys 😃😃. Thanks for sharing. Get out there tubers!!! Net please 🎣😃🎣😃🎣

I think it’s so cool to see tall buildings from where you’re fishing! Not that there’s anything wrong with the Forrest. Just a change of scenery and not something I see every day

Have you explored using jigging spoons while vertically jigging open water? I’ve never tried it but don’t see why it wouldn’t be effective being that they work so well during ice season.

    • @InDepthOutdoorsTV

We've used them quite a bit in the fall for walleyes and smallmouth. We've had a lot of success at that time of the year. You make a good point...Why do we stop using them in the spring for walleye when they work so well for the same species just a few weeks earlier through the ice? The only explanation I can offer is that we're creatures of habit and we've just never used them in the spring.

Would you mind telling me which model Ranger net that is? Looks to work well. I have the 20 x 20 short handle, but need to order an extendable model.
Have a nice musky net for Esox , but looking for a suitable net for larger walleye, without getting too big. It's tough to judge size from a list.
Thanks. Great content on your shows!
