Cant wait for that special time on the D! Just got all my stinger hooks tied for the upcoming season. Rods restrung & lubed. That boat is almost identical to mine. Good luck this year!
good job on the video, i went for the first time ever today managed to get 2, the stinger hooks i had were a little short and i really think i missed a good 5 -7 fish cause o the short strikes, but also caught on homemade plastics
I was fishing from shore, bite died for me and I took off after 11. It looked like all the boats were either in the middle of the river or on the canadian side. I figured the wind pushed them away from shore. I'm not really sure if that's even possible with how many walleye run through, but the sun mixed with the wind really took my confidence down a notch. Got any tips for a first time Detroit River shore fisherman?
We for sure noticed that the fish were concentrated in the middle of the river and more on the Canadian side. The stained to muddy water was over there and we got better fish with the muddy water
You need to focus more on your line. Pay attention all the time. Put down your coffee stop watching your friends and focus. Heavy fast action rod. St Croix heavy metal rod. Made specifically for Big fast current. Bought 3 last year and love them
@@outdoorbelievin5259 I know but if you’ve fished there long enough that number seems close lol I can’t even come close to telling you the amount of fish I’ve seen kept there we are truly BLESSED to have this fishery
It seems like you're expressing concern about the fishing limits for zander , specifically mentioning that in some places the limits allow taking small fish in large quantities, which you find excessive. In many parts of Europe, the daily limit is 2 fish, and you're surprised by the leniency you’ve observed. You also mention that a 5 kg zander is a special catch and that people may not appreciate its significance
Yea on Detroit river and Saginaw river if a run is hot it is not uncommon to be that close to other boats. As long as people are mindful it works fine...it makes it tough when someone isn't used to working a trolling motor and moving there boat with the flow.
We took 2 boats out there last week. Some guy smashed right into my friends boat and then tried to blame them 😂😂😂. He eventually admitted he was distracted and at fault. I am also from Erie area, it takes a bit to get used to the closeness on Detroit.

Well I made it in the video lol. Tracker boat in the intro and beginning of video.
Nice....Hopefully you guys did as well as we did...it was a great day to be on the river.
Do you know what arc lab set up the garmin is mounted too?
We were there on 4/15 also. Doesn't get much calmer with the wind.
For sure.
I like to see you come to Maumee Ohio for the Maumee River walleye run on the river
Heck yea I would love to do that...are they still in the Maumee good?
@@outdoorbelievin5259 yes they are still in the Maumee River it's on 🔥🔥🔥

I'm going to lake Erie in the morning to jig for walleye in the western basin on the 🪸
Very cool...I have never jigged the reef but I want to try it soon. I hear it's a blast as well...good luck

I bet you are a blast to fish with. You can have fun and limit on the D! We pull 4 mans all the time April& May.
Hundreds of thousands of fish a year.
For sure...I wonder if they have ever done a study on how many?
Yes they said 94 million in a study I read
Wow...that's crazy!

@Gettin_Outdoors definitely the best walleye fishery in the US in my opinion

Is it normal too have other boats come in right on top of you. Where I live on Lake Erie that is ABSOLUTEY frowned upon and very Un-sportsmen like

@@outdoorbelievin5259 Understood, but still not polite in my book. Love the vids keep it goin!!!
@58dbeck33 For sure and Thank you...I really appreciate it.
Very common it’s just April in Detroit. You just embrace it!
