Oh yeah, and the final nail in the coffin is that they're stuck in the West.
Sometimes teams can't recover from devastating losses and they'll sometimes over react to them on impulse. I've seen it happen on multiple occasions as a Vikings fan.
The irony of this team is two fold: 1. They shipped CP3 not realizing that the team's actual problem was just Ayton. They traded CP3 away for a player that was redundant with KD and Booker based on how he gets his points but who brought nothing additional to the table--he was also injury prone like their other top two guys... they should have been in the market for OG anunoby or Siakim, both players that cost less and aren't redundant and who require fewer touches to be efficient and are better defenders. It probably would have cost them less as well. Damn, they could have probably gunned for Trae young... would have made more sense. 2. KD left GSW and kind of ragged on the motion offense in favor of more isolation play. But on a team with no point guard, it probably would have been the best option to make this team better--probably could have bumped their seed up by 1-2 spots... because on a team with no point guard where you're already turnover prone, may as well get other guys' offense going to help spread the floor. KD for some reason didn't realize that that GSW team was so great because they actually took advantage of having 3 great scorers on the floor at the same time by setting the table for anyone else who was on the floor with them--better spacing. Now they're cooked and their best option legitimately is to trade KD AND Booker, because they're not good enough to even get out of the first round and have no assets left to even improve beyond signing a bunch of minimum contracts. Contracts they can't even get value out of because they have no point guard. May as well start the rebuild now. They had a good run, and we should genuinely remember this team positively, but it's over.
"Ragged on the motion offense." That should be on Durant's gravestone. Wants to win a title outside of GSW, but wants to do it playing an archaic form of basketball that straight-up doesn't work anymore. Good luck with that.
Yes, and the other fact is that sometimes (sometimes) "Superteams" do not play together well and silo their efforts on the court. You cannot manufacture chemistry most times.
I have a suns fan friend, and I’ve been following him around all day saying “respectfully, I don’t know how teams are gonna guard us”. Damn suns were so cocky at the start of the year.
As a Suns fan this video hurts 😭 but gotta support Synthetic Sports! Honestly I think getting rid of DA and getting Nurk and Allen was great. Should have never traded for Beal since it made the cap situation hell. I pray the Suns give me one chip in my lifetime
Suns fans finally humbled after this embarrassing post season. KD is old. Beal was never going to get them over the hump. And Booker is not a guy who can win you a championship as a first option. Back to the drawing board to see what they can do in 2031 when they finally get a first round pick.
What made the Suns make the finals was attitude. They were young, hungry, talented, and close. They had amazing chemistry. They played together and had fun. Ever since Cam Johnson and Mikhail bridges left, that spirit went with them and they haven't been the same since. I called it then, and I'm still screaming it to whoever will listen. That kd trade was worse than Shaq for Shawn Marion
As a suns fan I am completely disappointed about this team because we were supposed to be up there with nuggets and celtics and we can’t get 1 playoff win
If they plan on keeping Booker and Durant then the best move they can make this off season is re-signing O'Neale. Then it's doing their best to see who is willing to sign vet mins for the last couple of spots.
I’m a Lakers fan, and I didn’t care for Vogel when he was there. But if u hire a defensive-minded coach and ur team is anything but defensive-oriented, u get this kinda outcome
kd is the living case of "those who play well does not necessarily understand the game of basketball well". Just see how bad his choices of teammates was besides the warriors and nets.
Kd trade was great, they got their superstar duo of Booker and KD. Beal trade was brain dead, lost all their depth and cap space for the worst contract in the league
Suns had 4 max players in 2022 . Had 3 50 million per year players this year . But their best season came when they organically built their team with book, bridges,Ayton and added semi discount bin CP3.
The suns owner basically ruined their future they don’t have any first round picks in the next few years so either they run in back with the same roster or blow it up
The Beal trade was their fatal mistake. KD and Booker already had the ability to rack up pts last year, Beal gave them nothing more in the scoring department and that’s literally all he’s supposed to be good for. They should have attempted to trade for better role players instead of adding star power.
Ah, Ben Simmons who's most significant achievement is getting rookie of the year in his second season. Though Beal's contract is worse since there is 3 years left on it plus it has a no trade clause.
I called this shit out when u were making season predictions. How TF did u believe in this team? This is the most 2k logic team in the NBA. I love y'all Synthetic Sports, but pls NEVER cook again 😂
I said it before the season, the Suns are braindead for trading away DeAndre Ayton. That had an all star caliber center with a high ceiling that could score, play defense and rebound, and they traded him for a bunch of worthless garbage. Then Beal was doing great when Booked was injured, and Booker came back and destroyed their chemistry with his constant ballhogging. There hasn’t been a player more willing to keep jacking up bricks as his team loses since Kobe until Devin Booker came around.
I think the entire league should look at this Suns team as the final piece of proof that the formula of “sign 2-3 big names & rely on them to carry the whole weight of the team” does NOT work against a complete & solid team. Sure MIN has big names like Kat & Ant; but they didn’t sign them at their peak, they were developed to where they are today; that plus the team chemistry & Ant’s natural leadership helped them absolutely embarrass a team that some folks claimed were gonna win it all easy after a few signings & trades!
We are witnessing the new and current generation take out the old generation right now. Curry misses the playoffs. Kd gets swept first round. Bron is probably gonna lose in 5 first round. Russ harden pg and Kawhi might lose first round to the mavs. Our old generation is starting to get fucked up
The problem with kd led teams are that 1) they are built like a 12 year old on 2k (multiple iso heavy scoring guys) and 2) they always make drastic moves as soon as things don’t go their way, not giving time for them to gel
Frank Vogel is and has always been a garbage offensive coach. He can succeed if you give him elite defensive talent and enough shooters to balance the fact that he plays 90s ball, but otherwise he has no chance of coaching a title contender. The early 2010s Pacers were a different era, and LeBron and Davis carried him in 2020. He can’t make adjustments to a different roster than his absolute ideal one.
The Suns should’ve ran it back with CP3, Ayton, Cam & Mikal at least they had something going on the fact that they threw all that away for KD & Beal is insane
They put all their money into 3 good shooters who can’t run the offense or defend. Every possession looks like their plan is to hot potato the ball between Beal, Booker, and KD and hopefully they all just score enough points that it makes up for the team not being able to guard a street light or have any depth.
I said this back during the off-season following the Beal trade and FA signings. They did not have anywhere close to a team that would win in the post season. They had no true depth and no true facilitator
I feel like the Nets might well have worked and honestly apart from Denver I would have a healthy Clippers as championship favs alongside Boston. They are 2:2 with the Mavs without Kawhi who were tipped by most pundits to be the second best team out West going into the playoffs. Superteams can work, the stars just need to complement each other, play at least some defence (since you can’t make up for three defensive liabilities easily) and you still need good role players.
The suns got caught in the perfect storm of basketball misfortune. Everything with sarver, the 2022 loss to the mavs, Ayton’s work ethic, new ownership inexperience. It feels like there only way out is blow it up, but they ain’t gonna do that until at least next TD or in the 2025 off season.
I've been a Suns fan for 3 decades and sooo tired of ALMOST! Some franchises are snake-bitten and some constantly make poor decisions. In the Suns case, they are subject to both. It will be shocking, if my beloved Suns make the playoffs in the next 5 years.
The thing people get wrong about super teams is yes they had the big three ... But the also had depth ... Remember the year the Celtics won they had Rajon Rando before the injuries and Kendrick Perkins. Miami heat in the years they won had Chris Anderson,Ray Allen, Mike miller and Mario Chalmers. Even the warriors had had depth in Livingston, Looney and Iguodala...So yes they had a big three but also had multiple role players in the rotation that weren't just veteran minimum contracts ... They still had the depth a team needs to win .. which is a key part of the equation most GMs seem to forget.
Their main problem is they lack a true point guard to run the offense either they shouldn't have let CP3 go or have at least a Ricky Rubio type point guard to keep things in order
My favorite thing about this year's Suns team is that it'll remind people the importance of having a reliable point guard on the court. I think people have forgotten why the role of a PG is so necessary to stabilize the offense and let your other stars work more off-ball to get to their spots. Both Beal and Book are at their most valuable when they don't need to have a lot of possesions where they're stuck bringing the ball up and setting the floor for everyone else. Not saying that this team would have done better if they stuck with CP3 over Beal, their fate was sealed when they gave up any kind of depth for KD, but not having a Rubio or Conley like "chill out the offense" PG with the starters was never gonna work.
Even at the time the Beal trade made no sense. The series vs Denver showed that they had enough star power, they just needed a better supporting cast. Why would you jettison your future for a worse version of a player you already have? And that contract, good God almighty, talk about an albatross. I don't know what they do going forward. This is one of the worst situations for a team I've ever seen.
12:02 Frank Vogel would have grounds for a wrongful termination suit if he got fired. Matt Ishbia gives him a top-heavy roster with little to no depth that does not Vogel's philosophy, tells him to make to work, and fires him when they get exposed by a more well-constructed team? Frank better have a lawyer on speed dial. Besides that, the KD trade was questionable enough, but the Beal trade did them in. The Suns' front office weren't gonna get much in return for CP3 no matter where they traded him to, but Beal should NOT have been the return. They also could've tried to fix things with Ayton before trading him, too. Hell, they could've kept Bridges and Cam Johnson and given them bigger roles on the team, thus keeping their depth and their assets. Matt Ishbia has screwed this team over for the foreseeable future. There is nothing wrong with making aggressive moves, but to make them without THINKING is even worse.

Oh yeah, and the final nail in the coffin is that they're stuck in the West.
Matt ishbia starin at a gun on his desk rn
Worst owner in the league right now.
They couldn’t even get one game????
suns’ management shouldn’t have panicked after that 2022 playoff performance. they should’ve held out and kept their young core.
Sometimes teams can't recover from devastating losses and they'll sometimes over react to them on impulse. I've seen it happen on multiple occasions as a Vikings fan.
@@manzac112the Kd trade was the correct one. They were playing sorry after their embarrassing loss to the Mavs
@@lemman7450 Yeah I stand by that trade too. It's Beal that killed any chance they had.
The irony of this team is two fold:
Nothing but facts
NBA franchises gotta understand superteams, big 3, etc etc. doesn't always equate to championships, DEPTH does.
As a Nuggets fan, I genuinely love how that team has absolutely destroyed the idea of the Big 3.
Back to the drawing board to see what they can do in 2031 when they finally get a first round pick.
no first round picks til 2031😂
the organization f-d up giving away role players to get an injury prone aging diva
“Why shouldn’t I be in it? That’s the question you should ask. Why not? What haven’t I done?” - Kevin ‘Bus Rider’ Durant
Now I gotta get a Nash-Stoudemire Suns Retrospective
Also, can we low key have a conversation about how Ant genuinely might have an argument as the best shooting guard in the league?
Not might HE IS!!!!
@@Rieky22he already is better than D-Mitch, and his only comp was Devin Booker who he beat the shit out of. He probably is
wait, is he a SG?
@@felixmartinez1100 yeah
@@naoikeda9472 Edwards is a much better defender than Mitchell and that makes a huge in his over all impact.
As a suns fan I am completely disappointed about this team because we were supposed to be up there with nuggets and celtics and we can’t get 1 playoff win
This is the stupidest move in recent NBA history, probably ever.
You also forgot they hit the second apron for the luxury tax, they legit have almost nothing theu can do.
If they plan on keeping Booker and Durant then the best move they can make this off season is re-signing O'Neale. Then it's doing their best to see who is willing to sign vet mins for the last couple of spots.
Frank Vogel getting saddled with another overpaid Washington Wizard and getting bounced
I think Bradley Beal and Dillon Brooks gon have bright futures as NBA analyst when the retire for how well they can predict playoff outcomes 😂😂
KD sold his soul for those two Warriors titles.
And the rest of his career is cursed.
3 offensive guys and a bunch weirdos is a hilarious quote
And the thing is Boston in 07-12 and Miami in 10-14 had deep rosters and really good chemistry.
Miami depth was ass they had greg Oden riding the bench because outside of big 3 Chalmers and Mike miller everyone else was a fkn bum
Kd trade was great, they got their superstar duo of Booker and KD. Beal trade was brain dead, lost all their depth and cap space for the worst contract in the league
Trading for Beal instead of getting depth around Book and KD made no sense
Literally every single pundit and basketball analyst had suns out the west. Also had nets before that. Can we please stop listening to these dummies.
Yeah, they don’t like Denver or Minnesota. Small market teams don’t move the needle for them.
Suns had 4 max players in 2022 . Had 3 50 million per year players this year . But their best season came when they organically built their team with book, bridges,Ayton and added semi discount bin CP3.
The suns owner basically ruined their future they don’t have any first round picks in the next few years so either they run in back with the same roster or blow it up
I guess this is what happens when you have 3 stars that need the ball in their hands.
Maybe keeping CP3 would have been better in that regard.
Paul is better than Beal, that much is obvious.
How this team went from making the finals a few years back to getting swept round by the wolves who haven't won a single playoff game in decades
This loss vs the t wolves felt worse than the Mavs loss, I felt so empty last night
The Beal trade was their fatal mistake. KD and Booker already had the ability to rack up pts last year, Beal gave them nothing more in the scoring department and that’s literally all he’s supposed to be good for. They should have attempted to trade for better role players instead of adding star power.
They screwed til 2031. No 1st round picks til 2030. No 2nd til 31 it's on book til he leave
Charles Barkley once said, "kd is a busrider"
They even used an image of a school bus for their gone fishing segment last night.
This team was destined for failure from the moment they traded all those role players to get Bradley Beal....
LONG LIVE WEED
Only the Ben Simmons contract is worse then Beals. Nobody is close to those 2.
Ah, Ben Simmons who's most significant achievement is getting rookie of the year in his second season. Though Beal's contract is worse since there is 3 years left on it plus it has a no trade clause.
Is this the Dagger!? Splash. Paul cuts the lead to 42.
Game! Series! 😂
Hey! I'm a new fan to your videos and just wantto say I enjoy your nba coverage ! I look forward to going throug hthe back catalogue of videos !
turns out building a team off 3 guys and a bunch of nobody's is not how you make a good team
Superteams have only ever worked in the context of having a GOAT distributor (i.e. James, Rondo), a deep bench, and playing hellified team defense.
Getting fleeced by the Wizards is crazy ngl
Instead of Phoenix Suns, they should be renamed Phony Suns. Didn't even leave a sunburn in this series.
Phony Sons
We are witnessing the new and current generation take out the old generation right now. Curry misses the playoffs. Kd gets swept first round. Bron is probably gonna lose in 5 first round. Russ harden pg and Kawhi might lose first round to the mavs. Our old generation is starting to get fucked up
Man Booker talks too much trash and always gets sent home, at least Wayoff P had some moments in Indiana 😂😂😂
You guys said when is the last time a super team won a championship and went to the heat over the 2017 2018 warriors super team....
The Suns should’ve ran it back with CP3, Ayton, Cam & Mikal at least they had something going on
the fact that they threw all that away for KD & Beal is insane
They put all their money into 3 good shooters who can’t run the offense or defend. Every possession looks like their plan is to hot potato the ball between Beal, Booker, and KD and hopefully they all just score enough points that it makes up for the team not being able to guard a street light or have any depth.
I said this back during the off-season following the Beal trade and FA signings. They did not have anywhere close to a team that would win in the post season. They had no true depth and no true facilitator
Patiently waiting on that Memphis Grizzlies revenge tour video 🥹
I didn’t watch much of this series. But it seemed like every time I seen the score the Wolves were up by double digits.
id love a video going over what happened to the lakers since the 2020 championship, now they’ve been eliminated
The but, proceed with kyle lowry really got me 😂😂
The suns got caught in the perfect storm of basketball misfortune. Everything with sarver, the 2022 loss to the mavs, Ayton’s work ethic, new ownership inexperience. It feels like there only way out is blow it up, but they ain’t gonna do that until at least next TD or in the 2025 off season.
Just lost their hockey Team And now the Sun's do this to To them I honestly feel kind of bad Well about the hockey part The suns are just hilarious
Exactly.
“3 offensive guys and a bunch of weirdos”
Seems like the suns in a nutshell
I'm been waiting for this video
As a lifelong nets fan, am I now in the position that everyone else was in when the nets acquired, Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett from the Celtics?
I could not stop shaking my head during this video 😒
Their main problem is they lack a true point guard to run the offense either they shouldn't have let CP3 go or have at least a Ricky Rubio type point guard to keep things in order
200 million dollars worth of payroll to get bounced in the first round.
Best part of the video is saying but...then having a pic of Lowry 😂
Ant doing the DX chop was wildd tho lol
2011-2014 heat were more than a big 3 though, they had depth from sacrificing pay for their stars. Phoenix is paying 150 mil to those 3 next season
Not saying that this team would have done better if they stuck with CP3 over Beal, their fate was sealed when they gave up any kind of depth for KD, but not having a Rubio or Conley like "chill out the offense" PG with the starters was never gonna work.
as a suns fan i seen this coming completely. i’ve been looking forward to the off-season since before the playoffs started 😂
