    Now THAT'S WTF I'M TALKING ABOUT!!! 💯👍💪😎 13.1 on the first pass with the clutch issue, and the crank pulley falling apart is BEYOND AWESOME!!! It's going to MOVE OUT when its dialed in with all the issues addressed!!! Great work dude!! Def smart running the Fluidamper, red loctite and 'pinning' the crank better with that woodruff key. Definitely probably fit too loosely for those high revs and rocked itself loose, especially when it jarred/ fell on its face hard when you were launching. That was probably what sealed the deal on the crank pulley LOL 😆 Nice work and sounds SAVAGE!! 💪

      Appreciate it man.
      Ive had a few more outings on it, and im telling you potential is there to compete.
      Just need the funds to make it there. Need gear set, cage, and m1 fuel.
      Next video will be the VW NATIONALS so get ready for that one.

    Sounds great, nice progress. Fluid damper seems to be a must on these when revved high.

    really impressive results for the first pass, can't wait to see what it'll do when everything is sorted

    I had a similar problem.. your harmonic balancer most likely failed first, causing the rivet to fail in your pressure plate. OE rev-limiters are quite soft.. aftermarket ECU rev-limiters are quite aggressive, sometimes a Fluidampr is a must 👍

      Not certain which went first, most guys ive talked to in racing said even with dampeners spec clutches just break.
      Lot of people said the same on street use.

    Ah yes, rip. I have a spec clutch as well. My coworker made me aware of this failure on these clutches as his stage 3+ pressure plate nearly ejected out of the bell housing during a gear change abolishing the bell housing side of the trans, because of those weak rivets.

      I got lucky then lol
      I’ve emailed them a lot, as well as posted about it.
      I’ve honestly had nothing but issues with spec and never had anyone help or respond after their parts were the obvious cause of failure.

    Maybe it was revs or just time on the old balancer, the rubber ages and tbey can slip the outer ring,even spit them off sometimes.
    (Usually its just rock hard aged rubber leaving the chat,its been happening to the domestic guys forever)
    I always expect some kind of issue on a new car.
    At least you got some numbers and the repairs werent too bad.
    Trappin 109 aint bad for a shakedown ✌️

      I think a combo of many things did it.
      I pulled my other oe balancer off my blown up motor and the rubber was pushed out.
      There is so much potential in these motors, if anyone kept an eye on vw racing this season you would’ve seen them working well.
      I think next year they will be doing great thing in all motor and in a few turbo cars

    Sorry bro, I know you will get it done, when I had my 24v 2.8 I had a spec clutch installed and it used to lock in first gear at a low rpm theeee absolute worst!! Try south bend there a little expensive but you won’t have this issue. Quick question, what the best shop to rebuild a 04 r32 transmission and bevel box??? And the best place for 04 r32 parts??

    • @SmithsEuro
      @SmithsEuro  10 місяців тому +1

      I disagree on the south bend part, ive seen many fail.
      Clutch masters seems to be the best option on anything seeing high rpm.
      As far as the r32 stuff not certain, over seas should have lots of stuff.
      You can also get parts off TT mk1-2 they have the same setup as r32 they have manual and dsg options

      @@SmithsEuro wow clutch masters is better than south bend?? I have to look into that

    • @SmithsEuro
      @SmithsEuro  10 місяців тому +1

      @fredjones5327 absolutely, ive seen rivet and disk failures on. 5-6spd trans on southbend clutches

    Please don't put a Fluidamper on a VR6. it doesn't always end well.

    • @SmithsEuro

      Most racers run them, without issue.
      Its been on a while so far with it on, and has seen 8500 regularly
      My spare oe pulley already had rubber coming apart.
